- With an economic crisis and food insecurity threatening Afghan families, more children in Afghanistan have now taken up jobs. Many of these posts are difficult, dangerous and poorly paid but it is often the only way families can survive.
Al Jazeera's Osama Bin Javaid reports from Kabul, Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is currently under embargo from Uncle Sam. Their assets are frozen /stolen whatever and that is why these children are starving. Islam never asked America or other non Muslim entity to invade Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya etc in the first place. The day you understand that America has been in war in the Middle East for years and has destroyed the futures of many Muslim states is the day that you’ll stop blaming Islam for any evil that came out of this

It is not for us to judge this. They fought for this way of life. It is educational for us to see that they want to live like that and CAN, it is their right. Maybe the people in the rest of the world will learn from the example of religion and hard work being prioritized over education. Just in case nobody remembers how the last 50 years has been in Afghanistan keep watching. The next 50 will be exactly the same.

@Abu hajjar I know this fact and it’s impressing how the Taliban infiltrated all of Afghanistans regions and established their own secret institution. However, if we compare the Afghan Army’s resistance with the one of Akhmat Shah Massoud, we see a Multi-Billion Dollar Army that simply surrendered because it’s soldiers were cowards. Massouds Shura-ye-Nizar fighters didn’t even got a salary, but they fought like lions. This was because they fought for their country and not for money.
The poverty is being caused by U.S. sanctions.

In the time scope that Allah sees the world and universe in general, Afghanistan’s suffering is mere an eye blink of the whole history. This period will pass and people will die. The only guarantee is the hereafter when the criminal entities of this world that caused the immense suffering in Afghanistan are held accountable. There is something called chaos theory, and I believe that all this mischief and grieve came out of the moment the west decided to leave their shores and colonise the rest of the world including the americas, Africa, Asia.

Given that Afghanistan is now a client state of Qatar, why doesn't Qatar put its hands in its excessively deep pockets and develop the country? Instead Doha is playing a game of moral blackmail to try to force the west into normalising relations with the Taliban regime. Poverty in Afghanistan is not a new, or sudden thing. Afghanistan is the least developed country in Asia, and still one of the least developed in the world. It lacks roads, railways, electricity generation, and public services like schools and hospitals are very limited in number and confined in location. Three quarters of the population live in the countryside in remote valleys and planes, where life has changed little for most in hundreds of years. Before, during and after the NATO occupation Afghanistan's infant mortality was practically the worst in the world. Twenty years of being occupied by thirty of the richest countries in the world made no significant difference to any of this. If the west did not want to help Afghanistan while it was occupying the country, why are they going to help it now it is run by a hostile political entity?
The occupation was an unmitigated disaster. The so called aid was to prop up a propaganda mill that only cared about using its people as living props to justify the foreign occupation with nice sounding headlines.
By helping Afghanistan and recognising it we are not doing it a favor. Our businesses will be able to enter and trade will be normalised. We will prosper too.
Qatar may be rich, but Afghanistan suffers the post-war era. And with the Taliban in power, countries are tied down in helping the Afghan people. The word "Taliban" has the - connotations.

And why should nations that are not ideological supremisists have to join the sanctioning or be punished? Let them trade with Afghanistan in peace.
Afghanistan needs to be a functional united nation as the number one priority.
It needs:
- To formalise its power structure with military voting and a council. It needs to change its name to the Mujahideen Collective of Afghanistan. That accurately describes what it is and and is much better for international press.
- A constitution to bring back the rule of law.
- Some way or another to allow voices for reform while minimising revolt risk. E.g. online opinion sharing or lobbying.
These are far more important for Afghans of any demographic, as living in a prosperous nation that is able to defend you and give you life aspirations is the best for all. Any possible social change can wait.
One the topic of labour, with de facto anarchy ending, business can form and grow in peace.
We need to recognise the government so our businesses can enter and grow the nation. It is good for Afghans and good for us.
These are intelligent points, but I don't think the west should be expected to participate in this. The Gulf countries should be able to deal with this.
