We're living in a graded world in collecting nowadays unfortunately. I recently got a green label daredevil 5. I don't mind. It's still a great beautiful book. I'm keeping it. I grew up in the 90s so I'm old school. A raw collector at heart.

How strange, my ASM 135 came back at the same grade. I pulled mine out of a dollar box back in 82!
Not surprised by these results . I temporarily stopped submitting Economy (pre-1975 books) to CGC since my last few submissions were very STRICTLY graded. With cost of grading & pressing, I think collectors have to be very judicious on what they send it right now.
What, you don't want them to strictly grade your books?
@@daviclar867 I want to grade them like they did in 2021. If you haven't been paying attention, many submitters are stating the grading is harsher. I own 9.8s that are in worse shape than the 9.6s I got back. Dem's the facts, Jack.

I can understand your disappointment in getting a purple label on the Silver Surfer #1 and I thank you Jim for not raging against it, unlike some UA-camrs who are absolutely venomous when they get a purple label, claiming that it's an injustice (not sure how). I don't get this antipathy: I have one purple label comic which would have been unaffordable with a blue label. And it wasn't long ago that restored comics were appreciated because the restorer was extending the book's life.
I've always liked the cover to Hulk #141.
Very nice Conan The Barbarian #24; the Milk Crate Collection should have its own CGC label and be recognised on their Pedigree Page.

Submitting mid-grade silver/bronze age books to CGC is a suckers game. The only one who wins is CGC.

That Wakanda movie really killed all the Submariner books. Really bummed about one of my favorite characters.
I think we will see Namor again in the MCU. Movie spec is not popping existing keys as much as it did a couple of years ago.
The black panther sequel was a hit tho. It won't likely lead to the submariner issues losing value in the market.
Totally agree. We got some Hollywood crap instead of a character who is over 80 years old. Ignore the comics; make some crap.

Enjoyed the video, I just got into comics about a month or so ago, and started my channel , so just starting my comic collecting, not sure how hard I'll go into the graded book scene cause I do enjoy reading what I collect, and not sure they'll grade that well after being page turned , I might decide to start getting second copies for grading if I decide to start into the grading aspect of the hobby, I'm not a big DC or Marvel guy, strictly mostly independent with stuff from Dynamite and Zenescope seeming to becoming my main focus. , Again enjoy the videos, subbed, and will continue to follow.
Any thought on cracking, re-submitting for de-restoration and re-grading on SS1? Or is it too dicey a procedure due to condition?
My thought was that if it's for the PC I don't care how long the economy order took within reason. But once I thought about it I don't want paper memory creeping back before grading, so for now on I'll fast track economy orders but will cut the order down a little to save on cost.
I will only submit higher grade books. I want FMV of 200 or more. You make a good point about paper memory. I think there was some reversion on.
If you're getting reversion then use hydration chamber longer. Press it with heat 160° then turn off. Leave it in the press two days.
@Bronzeville Comics I'm going to move that needle to that $200+ mark on most books now with CGC if I can help it. Too many $100-$125 books that have dropped too much in this market.
@Davi Clar thanks. I'm doing that pretty much now. It's just 9 months of sitting there is too long and who know what will happen to those books.
My Economy took a year, they told me after the fact they didn’t press 3 books out of 6, and they took so long I missed out on the custom labels I ordered. Never again.
Detective Comics books are nice! Sorry for the grades below your expectations.
Isn't there a way for you just to get the restored book back? I wouldn't slab it and keep it for shits and giggles.
