I realized there is not a single comment on the front page here about the performance so I thought I'd tell you my first impression: I'm speechless. The perfect blend of precision and creativity of these five people seems like it will continue to amaze me for every new song/performance I hear from them.
I love this song. When I was 10years old the babysitter let me call the radio station and request this song and they put me on the radio!!! How cool is that. .
Man , thanks for the Memories, Wow , I remember, listening to roundabout with four of my friends , I think it was in 1972 ,we were all stoned on weed & hash , Driving down a mountain, What a trip that was, speakers blasting, Those were the day's. Long live rock & roll.... 54 & still rockin
I first saw YES back in 1971 ay capital theater .passaic nj. Since then i chased them all over northeast ! Probably saw them 31 times. They still give me goosebumps !
I feel sorry for people not of my generation...I was a teenager in the '70s and all the music of music was in the '70s...great to have UA-cam...otherwise all the kids not alive back then would not have the opportunity to hear it.
the concert." I was so impressed. They have so much integrity and beyond that something spiritual- they are true musicians, true artists at their best. They made me proud to have been there and glimpse a bit of their personal (professional) world and share that part of rock history. They stand apart from most other rock bands. Jon Andersons' sweet gentle face is forever etched in my mind. I am so grateful for that moment.
Nothing can beat the artistry and musicianship of a group like Yes. They made the '70's a golden age for singer/songwriter groups. Nothing and no one can compare to them.
I'll be the roundabout The words will make you out an' out You spend the day your way Call it morning driving Through the south In an' out the valley The music, dance and sing They make the children really ring I spend the day your way Call it morning driving Through the south In an' out the valley In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky And they stand there One mile over we'll be there And we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be back And laughing too Twenty four before my love You'll see, I'll be there with you I will remember you Your silhouette will charge the view Of distant atmosphere Call it morning driving Through the south Even in the valley In and around the lake, woh Mountains come out of the sky And they stand there One mile over we'll be there And we'll see you Come again Ten true summers we'll be back And laughing too, oh, oh Twenty four before my love You'll see I'll be there with you Along the drifting cloud The eagle searching down on the land Catching the swirling wind The sailor sees the rim of the land The eagles dancing wings Create as weather spins out of hand Go closer hold the land Feel partly no more than grains of sand We stand to lose all time A thousand answers by in our hand Next to your deeper fears We stand surrounded by a million years 'Ill be the roundabout The words will make you out an out Ill be the roundabout The words will make you out an out In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky And they stand there Twenty four before my love I'll be there (Feels like) I'll be the roundabout The words will make you out an' out You spend the day your way Call it morning driving Through the south In and out the valley In and around the lake Mountains come out of the sky And they stand there One mile over we'll be there And we'll see you Ten true summers we'll be back And laughing too Twenty four before my love You'll see I'll be there with you There with you na, na, na There with you na, na, na There with you na, na, na There with you na, na, na There with you na, na, na There with you na, na, na There with you na, na, na There with you na, na {Thank you Thank you very much Take care of you}
Hard to believe this was over 35 yrs. ago.Takes me back to a better time. When there were true musical geniuses at work that sound as good if not better live .People today have not a clue what real music is all about.Glad to have been able to see great shows like this when it was happening.I may have been a kid at the time but I will never forget what I saw and heard.Still listening today and always will.
My cousin showed me the first few bars of this about 30 years ago. Still can play it. Not hard but beginners might fid the harmonics and the hammer-down bass notes tricky. Great song, nice video. Best for me was live in N.O. In mid-70s. Last stop. Two feet from stage, unexpected friend. Champagne. A true roundabout. More like a party with Yes than a concert.
I'm thankful for my high school boyfriend in the 70s. He introduced me to this genre of music. Today it is best known as "Classic Rock" My stations - Classic Vinyl, Classic rewind :)
I remember waking up to my dad playing this on his old LP's. He was Yes' biggest fan. So much so that I am named after Jon Anderson. When I listen to Yes I feel like he is still here with us. I wish he lived long enough for me to get the chance to tell him how much I love this beautiful music. Hearing this song makes me feel like hes still here and everything is ok.
Amazing chemistry between the laid back and angelic Jon Anderson, like another day in outerworld, and the tensely complex music surrounding him. They both stand their ground.
countless hours over many years of listening to and seeing countless bands and it all goes back to my first rock concert. Yes, Boston Garden, 73. Wish I could go back
I got my first Yes album (Fragile) two years ago. This was the first song I listened to. Now I have gotten all 18 of their studio albums as well as 5 live albums. This takes me back to that day I first listened to my favorite band of all time. . .
Every time i try to listen to this song in my itunes i get about half way through and i think of the live version, so i look it up on youtube and it always blows my mind because of how good it is
this is soooo cool...you want believe how many trips happened to me on songs like this one....this songs had a huge influence on the way i look at life
This is a masterpiece in action. Some of the world's greatest musicians performing to perfection. Fantastic vocals. As close to absolute perfection as you will see or hear. One of the greatest bands ever showing why they were so heralded.
I saw yes in 78. It was one of the best concerts I ever went to. They had a circular stage and the album Tormato just came out. I never heard a band that played their songs with the exacting perfection of the album like this band. Shortly there after they started going to short songs that is when I stopped buying their albums. But their music is still great.
This is a nostalgic piece of video. You can almost smell the 'patchouli oil' in the theatre. I was so entranced or in awe of Yes back in 73. Thanks for posting ¦¬D
there are groups this talented performing new stuff today. it's not the same rock n roll, else it wouldn't be new. If you're like me, Yes opened your mind in a lot of ways. Keep your mind open.
Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman, what a duo? And "Yes" what a group? One of the greatest of all times. There was one time that bass player compared me to Rick Wakeman. I was sooooo flattered. There is no way im any way as good as Rick Wakeman. But, I was flattered. Extremely. !!! Now Steve and Rick are old guys. But I hope they are enjoying their lives. God gave them the gift of talent. I hope they are happy. Money and fame are great for a while but no money can buy happiness.
Man Steve Howe is such a beast. Im learning this song right now and he didnt make it easy for me. Its a testament to his ability to compose and play. *hits like button*
I saw Yes in a 3,000 seat theatre in Merrillville, Indiana in the mid-90's. It was snowing and I had shorts on. John Anderson couldn't hit the high notes but the show still rocked.
I think was 76 saw them with Peter Frampton, Gary Wright & Lynard Skynard in Chicago....Everyone left after Frampton!!! I was right in front row!! Wakeman showed up. Totally awesome...
This is the Yes that I remember... thank you Ryanmcw! Without question, the best concerts I ever attended... 1973 sounds about right, the Close to the Edge tour, and the following year Tales from Topographic Oceans.. I am jealous of myself!
i saw YES in germany when i was stationed there in the 70's. (74-76). they were THIS GOOD and everyone stood up for the entire show! I was pretty far back from the stage, but i was blown away from the beginning to the end. i don't know of anything comparable today. if you do, let me know and post.
This is Yes in 1973, near the summit of their creativity, in an electrifying performance. The guys obviously enjoy playing, and the song combines the fierce energy of rock with the complexitiy of an astonishing rhythmic interaction and the subtleties of a fine arrengement.
I tried to convince my wife to have roundabout playing during the birth of our son to make the experience more delightful, she only agreed to use headphones and "holy lamb" on the I Pod to enjoy together. What a ride!
i saw the roots play on south street in philly during a work shift lol. I walked in the office and nobody was there and i was like "Heck, where is everybody?" "Oh they're down the street listening to the Roots and not working. YOu wanna go? Go head" So I went. And it ruled.
I brought me here. Yes is legendary. I saw this done live, back when bands played their own music and rocked the listener with talent. V- 2,256,472, L--4965
Yes this amazing performance is from the Yes movie Yessongs available on DVD, However there are many DVD's in the Yes catalog. One of the best is Yes Symphonic fro 2001, with an amazing sound and production.
I realized there is not a single comment on the front page here about the performance so I thought I'd tell you my first impression:

.
These guys were so ahead of their time and to pull off that music live flawlessly is crazy. No backing tracks, no pitch correction, just pure talent!
They are still doing it.
This song brings back alot of memories that I can't remember.
Zepp and Yes in 1975 were the two best concerts I ever saw... off the scale.
My big sister who is now 62 and a Grandmother saw Yes, Zeppelin and The Who in the 70's. I have her to thank for turning me on to all this music.
SHUT DA FUCK UP NON JOJO FAN

I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out an' out
You spend the day your way
Call it morning driving
Through the south
In an' out the valley
The music, dance and sing
They make the children really ring
I spend the day your way
Call it morning driving
Through the south
In an' out the valley
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky
And they stand there
One mile over we'll be there
And we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be back
And laughing too
Twenty four before my love
You'll see, I'll be there with you
I will remember you
Your silhouette will charge the view
Of distant atmosphere
Call it morning driving
Through the south
Even in the valley
In and around the lake, woh
Mountains come out of the sky
And they stand there
One mile over we'll be there
And we'll see you
Come again
Ten true summers we'll be back
And laughing too, oh, oh
Twenty four before my love
You'll see I'll be there with you
Along the drifting cloud
The eagle searching down on the land
Catching the swirling wind
The sailor sees the rim of the land
The eagles dancing wings
Create as weather spins out of hand
Go closer hold the land
Feel partly no more than grains of sand
We stand to lose all time
A thousand answers by in our hand
Next to your deeper fears
We stand surrounded by a million years
'Ill be the roundabout
The words will make you out an out
Ill be the roundabout
The words will make you out an out
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky
And they stand there
Twenty four before my love
I'll be there
(Feels like)
I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out an' out
You spend the day your way
Call it morning driving
Through the south
In and out the valley
In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky
And they stand there
One mile over we'll be there
And we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be back
And laughing too
Twenty four before my love
You'll see I'll be there with you
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na, na
There with you na, na
{Thank you
Thank you very much
Take care of you}

this song is still ahead of its time. nobody has ever matched it.
it's a shame I was only 2 years old in 73. I would of loved to see these guys play.

good luck with the cover, first concert I ever saw Huntsville Alabama 1976 cannot explain how awsome this was.
These guys were 70"s party format. Always ahead of schedule but a different level. Grew away, Best song was always Roundabout.
