    When you think of methods to detox from mold, bile may not be the first thing that comes to mind. But, as my guest today will explain, bile can actually play a huge role in how (and if) mycotoxins are leaving your body.
    My guest today is Dr. Jill Crista, a naturopathic doctor, best-selling author, and internationally recognized educator on mold illness.
    She helps people recover their health after exposure to toxic mold.
    Dr. Crista is the author of Break The Mold: 5 Tools To Conquer Mold and Take Back Your Health.
    She also provides online training for medical practitioners to help them become Mold-Literate, to efficiently and effectively identify and treat their mold-sick patients.
    Join us as we discuss why you should think about bile when trying to clear mold.
    SHOW NOTES:
    • What is bile + why is it so important for tackling mold illness?
    • What is insoluble fiber (and how can it help)?
    • Concerns about medications used to treat mold illness
    • Whole foods that can bind to bile (to help you clear mycotoxins)
    • Thoughts on the use of clay + charcoal as binders

      Sounds like you have MCAS. The key there is to start very low and go slow! Check out Dr. Neil Nathan on Mold Toxicity treatment -- his plan is the same as Dr. Jill Crista's, but he gives a treatment schedule as well, his specialty is in treating the most extreme mold hypersensitive people (and he's very successful at that!) DNRS is a core initial step of treatment for the most hypersensitive people. Dr. Jill Crista and most others are good advice if you're only sensitive (but not hypersensitive).

    If you are extremely unhealthy PLEASE don't fall into the carnivore diet trap. I did and i feel like my ship is sunk! I now have histamine issues to EVERYTHING, including grass fed, grass finished beef. I now think i have mold toxicity. My doctor is absolutely clueless, so i feel completely alone in this journey. Side note: i did great on carnivore for 6 months, then got covid 3 months ago, which is when I started to REALLY feel my body falling apart. I went on carnivore to try and fix some autoimmune issues and now am in worse shape than i was before starting the diet. I now think I've had mold toxicity for a long time, but was misdiagnosed with autoimmune issues.

Since writing that post, I have learned that long covid sufferers are more likely to have an underlying mold toxicity and that people with mold toxicity are likely to struggle with carnivore. But im checking into Billy Doe meats. I've heard that a year with lamb and beef only can cure the gut, which then results in healing mold toxicity

    I loved the info on this interview, but was confused on one thing Dr Crista kept mentioning. She said insoluble fiber is what helps eliminate the mycotoxins from the bile, by its ability to bind to the bile which has the mycotoxins. Similar to how it reduces cholesterol. But cholesterol reduction comes from consuming soluble fibers. They have more affinity to fat than insoluble fibers hence their ability to reduce cholesterol. She mentioned psyllium husk as an insoluble fiber that’s good at helping eliminate bile with mycotoxins from the body, but psyllium husk is classified as a soluble fiber

      So sorry to hear this.
      God has led me here to help.
      I've been through it, it almost killed me before I knew what was happening, doctors were useless.
      Eat raw carrots and radishes. Super antifungal.
      Eat sauerkraut or kimchi, live stuff, no preservatives. Get a decent probiotic too. 20 or 34 strain, start slowly while taking it.
      Make a tea with lots of garlic (probably the most antifungal spice), ceylon cinnamon, cloves, oregano, thyme, cayenne, a little sage, and any other powerful herbs you have on hand. Add some honey to make it palatable.
      Get a decent turmeric supplement, or add lots to your tea.
      Get a boron supplement and take it daily.
      Be sure to take vitamin d, a great immunomodulator. Melatonin is too but it hurt my symptoms until I was on the road to getting better, since my thyroid was infected.
      Blueberries seemed to help my symptoms, ate them everyday. Maybe the phenols.
      Eat coconut oil, at least a couple T a day. Lauric acid is very antifungal and about 40% of it.
      Beets are antifungal, so is dandelion.
      Milk thistle seemed to help my liver a bit.
      And you must take NAC. Up to 5 grams a day, but at least a couple.
      Wishing you all my best and sending you love.
      God bless you dear.

      Eventually I went keto and it helped quite a bit. Had to ease into it over a few weeks.
      Still had a carrot and blueberries everyday.
      There's a lot of evidence that keto can help mold issues, definitely a reason why carnivore helps so many with autoimmune issues.
      I also did a fast at least once a week after I started getting better, at least 20 hours. It helped me a lot.

      Don't worry about turning blue, you'd have to do at least 50 doses a day for a year for that to possibly happen.

      What I didn't know and wish I did, take a probiotic about 12 hours after each dose.

      From what I understand, beet greens can help with bile flow. Not the root, but the greens. The only person I found talking about this is a guy named Tony Hale. He's got a channel here on YT called Kick It Naturally. I have just started taking the one he recommends called Beet Flow. It works, but it also has taurine in it plus some beet root. I have gastritis too and one of the ingredients hurts my stomach (causes inflammation). I think it's the taurine but it could be the beet root too for all I know. So I'm going to look for another brand with just the leaf in either capsules or powder form. I've been taking ox bile for about a year and it has not improved my bile flow/pain at all.

    What if you don't have a gallbladder ?

    • @jenfugo
      @jenfugo  11 місяців тому +11

      Not having a gallbladder means that bile is constantly flowing directly into your small intestine and not being concentrated within the gallbladder so that it would be released appropriately when you eat food. Therefore, you probably are not having enough bile dumped into your small intestine when you eat, which likely would be helped by adding a bile supplement into your routine by taking it about 5 minutes before every meal. Unfortunately, this is a lifelong issue because you no longer have a gallbladder. While conventional medicine views the gallbladder as expendable, and certainly you can live without it, it does not mean that it doesn't serve an important purpose. So when the gallbladder is missing, it is important to supplement with additional bile before every meal for the rest of your life

    Does binding the bile or the use of binders means your developed fungal overgrowth or candida will automatically disappear. Meaning you will no longer need to take antifungals?

    • @user-ce4jr8ib7f
      @user-ce4jr8ib7f Місяць тому

      I think it just means that the binders are necessary to help flush out the fungal material

    • @user-ce4jr8ib7f
      @user-ce4jr8ib7f Місяць тому

      You need to be eliminating like going to the bathroom at least once a day to clear out the fungus that is now bound with the binder

    I had been eating lots of green fibery foods all along, but got mold poisoned, and what's worse is i'm now overloaded with oxalate. I'm now tryiing to detox from mold and oxalate. I'd been dependent on greens for fiber, because my GI can't tolerate grain fiber. So what do I do now?
    I'm taking bentonite clay orally and also take clay bath at least twice a week to detox. I hope it'll work. Anybody has any advice?

      Eat a lot of colorful vegetables. They have bioflavonoids and it's very important for getting rid of mold

      @@user-ce4jr8ib7f thanks. Well, I took bentonite clay and clay bath for a couple of months and the mold is now all gone. I can’t eat veggies at the moment because I’m now oxalate poisoned. My body has been dumping it and it’s pretty scary. But eventually I’ll be able to go back to eating veggies

      What is the experience of the oxalate dumping

    • @aikiminomori2261
      @aikiminomori2261 Місяць тому

      @@user-ce4jr8ib7f oxalate binds to minerals in your body and becomes shards of crystals basically all your organs where the blood goes. Kidney stone is the most known oxalate poisoning. When you quit eating veggies, your body start dumping it in your BM, urine, your eyes, and skin. It’s like grits of sands in your rear end, in your bladder, your eyes, which is pretty painful and uncomfortable. Also your skin will break out in rashes and you’ll see the crystal come out of your skin. It comes in a cycle, every 2-4 weeks and lasts like a week to 10 days. I understand that it takes years to clear it. You will experience inflammation and extreme fatigue, some people experience flu like symptoms. Some people will be bed ridden while dumping. I’m just inflamed and super fatigued and brain fogged.
      I was able to get rid of mold in a few months with the clay. But this oxalate thing is much more difficult. I am no longer eating any veggies. Carnivore!

    What if you don’t have a gallbladder? My wife had hers removed and we have been exposed for years to a moldy attic. Her health has degraded and she’s holding onto toxins.

      Adding bile into your supplement regimen could be helpful with meals. You're actually still producing bile, but it's constantly being dumped into the small intestine since you don't have a gallbladder to concentrate it.
