- The 2024 Bentley Flying Spur Speed ($322,595 as specced in the US) is a large luxury sedan with a nearly unbelievable 333 km/h (207 mph) top speed. A ferocious 6.0L twin-turbo W12 sits under the hood and the suspension is aided by a dynamic anti-roll system. It also has a highly customizable and luscious interior, making the Flying Spur Speed seem to be the perfect on-paper GT car. But does it live up to its expectations? I just wish Bentley made the engine…as an owner and on my tenth Bentley Turbo R - the quality and craftsmanship of the SZ will be missed.
I was shopping for one of these but the superior quality of a low miles 2008 accord was just too much to ignore.
I'm literally driving in an 08' Accord. Four door. It's the V6 but I don't want to brag.

My friend let me use her 2010 Honda Accord SE when I was visiting her. It's a car that does nothing great, but does a lot of things good as is the purpose of a car. Sensible would best describe it.

Nah, a lot of the shots at the beginning were lame, while they were talking about the color of the thing, and walking around it. Anyone with an iPhone, a stick, and a piece of duct tape could shoot the same thing. I can't believe you commented that it was good, or that anyone likes your comment.
Ok for anyone confused about the engine, the W12 is “2 sixes stitched together” but still in a “V” architecture with 2 banks of cylinders versus 3. However, the cylinder layout is the same as a VR6 where each cylinder is offset by ~15° versus being directly inline as with a normal v12. Just google VW W12 engine head to see images.

The turned metal on the dashboard is just gorgeous.
The great thing about Bentley's are that each of their models has a wide range, you have the Speed and S with firmer and harsher suspension, but with more speed and handling benefits, or you can get the Azure and Mulliner models for much more comfort and smoothness.

Bentley is a driving car and RR is to be driven in. I don't need anyone to drive me around except maybe my daughter. I absolutely love the Flying Spur and have loved it for years

The word for your Patek Philippe analogy on the dash etching is Guillioche
I think he was confusing the back of the watch/ front of the movement where they do the Perlage, with the front of the face where the Guilloche is done with a special engine tool. Perlage is also called " Engine-turning" or "Jewelling". That Dashboard was definitely Guilloche. Well said.
@@scottcrawford3745 Good show! Perlage is a rounded scalloped design, which we also see auto makers using in interiors, though I'm not sure it's really machined. If it is...well, wow. 🙂

I love Love LOVE that interior! That's how modern 'lugxury' (James May voice) should be done. Beautiful craftsmanship, excellent materials, stunning design but still has modern tech. Notice how well everything is integrated? And buttons and knobs, oh my!

Go to the settings and unleash the Naim sound system. It is really that amazing. I don't know what brand is their standard sound speakers but the next step is Bang and Olufsen then top of the range is Naim. It's amazing!

Regarding that color, i remember about 10 years ago, i was looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and they key tag said it was green, but looking at it--black. I was so confused. Then the sun came out behind the clouds and the green fleck sparkled.
Wow - can really see the influence Luke Dokenwold had coming from Bentley to Genesis. My G70 has the same turned aluminum interior on the doors, same exhaust tips.. dials are in the GV70/GV80..

I have got a 1998 Continental R finished in Dark Emerald Green and you would swear it's black, or sometimes Blue and on occasions it's actually green.

Funny enough, I have the same problem with my Kia Forte-- the color, "Gravity Blue", only looks blue under direct sunlight. In a parking garage, or when it's cloudy out, it looks black!

The problem I have with the Flying spur is that I am tall at 6'8" and have a bad left leg. The platform they used for this car is the Panamera platform - which is low to the ground and it has a lower roofline making it awkward for ME to have to step DOWN into the car - and the footwell is narrow compared to a Ghost or Maybach. I do not have that problem with my Phantom. The Bentley that really compared to the Phantom was the Mulsanne - which they discontinued
Yeah the FS is compared to the Ghost not the Phantom that's pretty much its own class
Yes - the closest thing to the Phantom was the Mulsanne which was discontinued. It would have required VW to produce its own new platform - and was not selling well enough to make it worthwhile. The FS is based on the Panamera Platform - and that is a negative to the Ghost because of its height and low roofline as well as narrow Footwells.

The days of religions are no longer needed since we have governments and laws made by real LIVING people. So Naim is a sister company of focal and they are both premier audiophile companies. It’s surprising that the audio isn’t top notch here. Naim makes the amplifiers and electronics while focal makes the high end woofers. They must most have used focal woofers in this implementation.
