One Step Beyond (TV-1959) THE INHERITANCE S2E6

- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- Mind-bending series hosted by John Newland, your guide to the unknown! Based on true, supernatural events that defy scientific explanation, this show appeals to fans of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.
THE INHERITANCE: A wealthy but cruel woman torments her gigolo boyfriend and her timid maid. But a demoniacally possessed diamond necklace inflicts a horrible punishment on the women who try to wear it.
I just love these old shows. Perfect for during the pandemic. Thank you.
What pandemic?
@@janicesmith2475where the heck have you been the last 3 years??? Mars? Pluto???
And one step beond.
How cool to have Mister Newland himself in his own episode.
Like in Delia
I think he also played a character in one episode as well as being in Delia. (Ref: JA)
@@ItsAldo-e9q Thanks for the ref bro! I thought I'd seen all the episodes, which one does he play the character?
@@upthedownescalator630 There are so many, I looked but couldn't find it. I'll post when I run into again. :D
@@ItsAldo-e9q Oh okay. Btw it wouldn't be Sacred Mushrooms by any chance?
My favorite part was when the necklace choked every ounce of life out of the nasty, wretched old countess! 😵 ~karma~
Madge of the old Palmolive commercials. "'You're soaking in it.''
He keeps saying that is handsome throughout the whole thing. But I I don't really think he's that handsome.
He was handsome to the women because he was generally able to be used.
It's just part of the story.
Looks handsome 😍 enough to me. I'd marry him in a heartbeat ❤ were I to gt the proposal. Especially with that hair grease that for some reason the Young girl "👧" didn't like. But I do because it kinda makes him look like The Fonz. All he needs now are a leather jacket, a lightly motor grease staned t-shirt underneath, a tight fitting pair of jeans 👖 and som stylish brand sneakers 👟 and..."Eeeeeey!" 😎 👍
One of my favorite gentlemen look types, I could have Happy Days with a husband like that all the time.
😊 💘
(P.S. No disrespect 😤 intended.)
He is so handsome.
Agree....lol.
Omg- I sat here watching this, when at 13:10 I realized that the maid is Madge the old Palmolive dish-washing liquid lady!
🤔Who? 🤨
GrB WHAT ???? No wonder she looked SO familar !! Thank you for enlightening me !!
+1 qq
@@LovingAtlanta " your soaking in it "
@@trevormiles5852 - 😂🤣😆👍
For a drunk he speaks rather coherently.
Well, he had no money, so had to sit there sober until someone bought him a drink. Not so drunk.
Dont' forget he also spent the better part of a decade in an asylum for the criminally insane. That would break *anyone-* and sometimes drive them to drink.
That's so great that John Newland pays for an inebriated guy's wine to get source material for an episode.

I remember watching a program decades ago where the necklace moved, but couldn't recall what program it was. When OSB appeared on Utube, I was wondering if it was this program. Sure enough it was!! Thank you for posting these. 👍
P.S. The man looks like a (chubby) Richard Long of The Big Valley series.
Why didn't the necklace chock the old woman before , since she had wore it more than once .
Some guys don't know a good woman when they see one because so self obsurded! Now for instance this woman adore him but he so caught up on bullshit that don't see his happeness right in front of him.
A narcissistic killer necklace - no one owns me, I own myself!
He should have made the maid his main crush after the fact!
I want that music from ONe Step Beyond played at my funeral. Just to freak my friends out.
YEAHHHHHH!
@Oh No no doubt... i wanted played at my funeral
@Jack Vance : Me also! It's very eerie... still.
The music from Hitchcock is a funeral dirge from the 1800s. I think the music from Twilight Zone is the creepiest 😲😱
Did you live thru the UNs plandemic? Lot of people didn't. They got the shotzzz.
In the beginning countess said he had put them on her before.
So it doesn't always kill first.
Great movie. They sure dont make them like this anymore. Shame.
This is of course not a movie. It's an episode from a tv show...
I hate when my jewelry is demonically possessed.
You made me laugh!
I get a lit of good pieces at the gift store in the local hospital!
@@marywilliams9858 Me too!
Funny, I have the same problem with my underwear.
😆 yea that's gotta suck
The old lady who died was beautiful for her age.
I don't think so.
The actor who played Michael was in an episode of old Boris Karloff Thriller series. Episode was "The Hollow Watcher". It was excellent. I knew he looked familiar!
BTW: The Hope Diamond is cursed. Every owner has suffered misfortune.
Sine 1958 it has resided in the Smithsonian. #Legend #TheMoreYouKnow
No wonder the country has been going downhill. It takes much longer to kill a country than a person.
@@katherinkeegan8601 I was thinking the same thing. We should gift it to China!
Same as the pink panther. 😎
My mother loved the Hope diamond and said she'd take her chances.
Not just the Hope, many large diamonds are cursed.
Nothing like two gold diggers. KARMA
The necklace was haunted 👻👻👻
"...my Wife had of course gone Shopping..." Lol
Actually, John wasn't married at the time. He *did* marry Helena De Castro-Palomino Suárez (apparently his "constant companion", as "Margot Lane" was to "Lamont Cranston") in 1964 {his production company, "Palomino Productions", was named for her}.
THANK YOU for posting these!!! I was awake all night watching UA-cam old shows : "All In the FAMILY" "Sanford & Son"
This is fun to watch as an adult and have a completely different point of view.
🤔And I'm wondering what my sweet (deceased, now 😰) Grammy was thinking, when she watched them; she was very religious 😉😇😜
@judy-9999
Religious people do observe dramas about life situations... They help us to better discern who/what to avoid and...
who/what more to pray about +
He's sitting in a bar, dirty and haggard. And you said"I don't want to embarrass him"
And then pours him a drink.
LOL, fresh outta' the loony bin too!
I love Jan Miner, she was Madge the manicurist for Palmolive dishwashing liquid!
Her agent was Lewis Maxwell Rosen.
She was in a stage revival of The Women in the 1970's.
👍🤔Killer jewelry has a whole new meaning.😳🤨😂
🤣🤣🤣
Bhaaaaahaaa..
I originally thought Michael and the countess were about the same age
The older you get, the more poignant this episode gets.
is this episode real?
Some of the shows probably have a “touch of Hollywood.” However, they are based events that people said did happen.
I guess the necklace was a choker 👅
Underrated comment here 😏🌹
A spell was cast upon it, for sure....
She said she leaves all outrageous lies to dear boy 😆 wow
He sound so much like vincent prince
22:10 The speed with which that guy moves from the left of the golddigger, to her right, is just amazing!! Maybe he was The Flash's real father!!
Note the door behind them reverses too. 🙂
First shot is them looking in a mirror, second shot is reversed because it’s not shown as a reflection like the first was.
The spirit of the countess couldn't have inhabited the necklace because the necklace killed her.
Even as a piece of costume jewelry, that's a rockin necklace! 💎These are great quality videos, Thanks!
J is Scoobysmom the beauty of OSB is that it as shot on film not video. That gave it that crisp look.
The ole clock struck'er story. She now stares in the mirror longing for a time, the clock can't remember. One moment you have eternity, the next a nano second remains.
Ah those damn nanoseconds. Only one thing worse
You guessed it..
If it's your time to go you're going to go no matter what it's like not being able to find your car keys then you find them you go down the street there was a big accident you're not in it because it was not your time to go the extra few minutes looking for your car keys made the difference believe it or not nice video thank you 👍🇺🇸
Does the necklace kill because the wearer is disengenuous? 🙄💀
I thought the second lady, the groomer, was genuine; except when she got the inheritance. Then again, it could have been that she hung up on emergency services and just wanted the loser for herself.
AMAZING STORY AND ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STORY
It doesn't pay to endulge in evilness
OSB was far superior to it's rival programmes such as "The Twilight Zone" & "The Outer Limits". They were the bizarre imaginings of scriptwriters who allowed the their minds to run amok with incredible fantasies! The "One Step Beyond" stories were real!
hahaha "It moved, it moved" - -was I the only one who thought of George Costanza? 🤣😂
so.....diamonds AREN'T a girl's best friend......
NIETHER IS LOW SELF ESTEEM
Lol I think he should have smashed it and sold it off like he planed to. Who cares if it moves!
The rocks won't move...unless it's like a Hydra and every stone would have made a choker! 😧
Cheers for the upload! 🤗🏵️
Madge must have blown all that inheritance to have ended up doing manicures in her golden years
Madge, I'm soaking in it!
I love OSB but wonder why the flamenco guitar in Mexico when it should be in Spain...I see that often......
Spaniards invaded Mexico... lots of Spanish Mexican mix...which included lots of Spanish stuff as well.
Who ever typed the captions was stoned. Either that or he is hard at hearing.
'AUTO-GENERATED' SUBTITLES ARE ALWAYS AWFUL (AND HILARIOUS SOMETIMES)... Caption: She left him with 'thirty cent towels'

Sean McClory as Michael Barry, Jan Miner as Grace Harkness, Estelita Rodriguez as Nina, Iphigenie Castiglioni as Countess Ferenzi, Jose Gonzales-Gonzales (as Jose Gonzales Gonzales) as Jose, Robert Tafur as the Bartender, John Verros as Rivas, and John Newland as Himself (Host).
This is my favorite episode
Madge from palmolive ads
23:52 But the necklace strangled the countess, too. So how could you explain the evil necklace as being possessed by the countess' vengeful spirit? This would sort of suggest the countess committed suicide since the necklace was possessed before the countess was strangled by it.
What of the jeweler that made the necklace in the first place? Maybe the jeweler was the one to "impart an evil spirit" in it. Or was their a previous owner that did it? But it seems that the necklace had been worn by the countess before that night with no danger to her, so what "activated" it that night?
I guess so, but I'm going from what he says at 23:52.
I guess we'll never really know lol
I think the Countess just had a heart attack.
I'm bailing out at 19:30 because it's too creepy.
the necklace must have had an Anti Karen curse on it
I need to get that necklace for my mother in law.
😭
🤣
For my ex wife
I could have used one for my ex-MIL but now I realize I do need one for my SIL - wife of husband’s brother! She’s more than a witch!!!
Love all these shows.
Thanks
This is what happens to materialistic people .
I will ponder that this evening while sitting next to the fireplace in my 28 million dollar Lake Como Home and drinking a bottle of Chateau Margaux 2003 while reading my First Edition of Great Expectations.
Conveniently falls on the bed.
I feel like all my nieces and nephews like my millions more than me.
Millions in debt.
Mr. Newland. And Yes, there is jewelry that is cursed.
The Countess reminds me a lot of Snow White's mother just because no its mother was beautiful on the outside doesn't mean she was beautiful on the inside you could say she was decaying on the inside ugly
The original preview (24:25)-
"Who among us can ever know where psychic lightning will strike? And when it does, who is ever prepared? Certainly, Anthony March was not prepared. That's why next week's encounter with the world of the unknown is a rare experience. Be with us."
{"The Open Window"}
I like OSB beyond even more than Twilight Zone, which is good too, but in a completely different way!
The original Twilight Zone episodes were written as parables by a social commentating genius... some themes were taken from actual events, however, most were from his fertile imagination;
however,
One Step Beyond consistently documented psychic phenomena.
Just outstanding acting by the Husband!
That was Sean Mc Clory, wonderful actor, did a lot of tv in the 1960's and 70's. He was also in THE QUIET MAN. His female counterpart was a woman named Antoinette Bower, another all purpose Brit/Irish role tv actress on the tube, at that same time.
@@cynthiahawkins2389 I know. He was so easy on the eyes.

@@cynthiahawkins2389I remember seeing him many times in movies, TV - just couldn’t remember his name so I made sure to read the credits. The name is slightly familiar but his face and voice are definitely familiar!
I knew I recognized the maid of the countess as Jan Miner. She was Madge the manicurist for Palmolive back in the 1970s. The countess was at times difficult to understand what she was saying.
:-)..That's right. Good call!

MrsGULCH This is fun to watch as an adult and have a completely different point of view. Commercials, too.
🤔And I'm wondering what my sweet (deceased now 😰) Grammy was thinking, when she watched them; she was very religious 😉😇😜
Real 100, the maid was Jan Miner, this was a poignant chapter, problem is often I stay up much too late screening nostalgic shows like this, 'Medic,' with Richard Boone.

I LOVE JOHN NEWLAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank-you Pizzaflix*
John Newland...soooooo FINE!
He was a class act.
You can't have him. He's MINE!
10:21 why is that black band around his arm?
Wow, that was good.
nice music at beginning and end -- the guitar, within the story, that is.
I'm sure the judge believed the explanation.
Great show..great stories but I don't believe a single one really happened.
But master pieces of fiction.
I’m not sure about most of them, but I know that quite a few episodes were based, somewhat, in reality. I’ve researched a few of them and each one has had some truth to it. I’m not saying they’re completely true, obviously, but I think they are all supposed to be based on something true.
Creepy jesus is lying its all fiction.
I had three miracles in my life so I disagree.
@@marywilliams9858 Bet youv'e seen a ghost and aliens too .
@On SB Would love to hear them maybe next year.
I’m here watching I’m quarantine... #Covid19 #TheCoronaVirus #WeMadeIT!!!
I loved this one.
The beefy Irishman is Sean Mc Clory, a wonderful actor who did a lot of tv in the 1960's. Usually a roguish sort, like he is here. He is in THE QUIET MAN, as well..in the pub, a dapper local. And Jan Miner did some television work as well, before settling into her lucrative time as Madge the Manicurist for Palmolive...
Where is she now?
Awesome movie, thanks.
Thanks for the great video
The old lady put a voodoo on that necklace!
18:11 Damn Nina!! (Estelita Rodriguez) She wasn't on the screen long but played the hell out of her role.
I really love this show. 90% of the time the stories are True tales of the Supernatural. This story seems to fall into that 10%...the fabricated Hollywood writer's imagination. Mr.Newland must of been hard up for material that week. Ha Ha
Some of these episodes were found in old newspapers and they twisted them a bit to make a good story out of them. Love it.
They were taken from true events, but with a bit of artistic license added.
The Spanish guy sounds like Speedy Gonzales 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes Lisa, but much better looking! LOL!
Better than his cousin, Slow poke Rodriguez.
It takes all kinds
Wish they never ended
Yes, more seasons! More!
Thank you.
