Helpful video, thanks. I pressed my seams open on the quilt top I just made. Do you think it’s ok to stitch in the ditch or should I sew close to the ditch? I’m afraid if I stitch in the ditch the seams will be too weak. I never press the seams open, I don’t know why I did it this time! Thanks for any suggestions.
Hi Connie! In this case, no, it's not recommended to stitch in the ditch. This type of stitching really only works when you've pressed seams to the side, as it lets it truly grab the top and bottom panels (and batting) and connect them together. As your seams are open, I would recommend a decorative stitch, or a zig zag stitch, that would grab the fabrics and tack them down. Happy sewing!
I don't see that foot on your Amazon link in the description, and Google isn't super helpful here. Can you offer some details on the foot you're using? My walking foot doesn't have a blade, and my stitch in the ditch foot doesn't have walking.
Hi Danielle! Of course - here's the direct link. It's a bit ugly, but should work! www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y4NCVT5?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzhttpente-20&creativeASIN=B07Y4NCVT5&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.3CGMIKSGP2W8C&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_d_asin
Love the border fabric print!!
Thanks, Jennifer! Isn't it fun? I love the bright pops of color that it creates.
