Hey Tem, I don't know if you've noticed this or not, but if you hold E on your Theri there's an option to increase it's harvesting levels, which makes it a better gatherer. It gains another harvesting level point whenever it gains a regular level. Also you can heal trapped carnivores by dragging a dino corpse near them. No need to feed yourself to them! Probably worth investing in the rifle and tranq darts at this point too. Does much less damage per point of torpor than the crossbow, so you're far less likely to accidentally kill the things you're trying to tranq.
If you’re going for a water mount, grab that high level sarco, sharks are not versatile. The sarco does not need to surface for air, but more importantly their stamina meter does not drain when swimming, meaning you can zoom all over the ocean without stopping, it’s also one of the fastest water mounts and can outpace almost any underwater foe. If you pump melee you’ll dominate, except DO NOT get close to jellyfish or electric eels, they will kill you quickly and ruthlessly. AND it can walk across land, meaning unlike sharks you can easily transport it on your raft or to interior waters.
Be on the lookout for tiny otters to tame near rivers. You can wear them for both heat and cold protection, it really helps out. Almost mandatory for some caves in the future too.
Exactly what I was going to say. I think it is if you pump their melee to make their insulation effective? Anyhow, I hope he uses them for egg incubation too.
Really loving these ark videos. They’ve been inspiring some cool build ideas. You always have a keen sense of what’s visually pleasing. Also, those floating rock textures on the terrain can be fixed; “Enable Foliage & Fluid Interaction” must be ON, and “Foliage Interaction Distance Multiplier” must be 0.5 or higher. The distance and quantity limit can be as low or high as you want. But the other two must be as stated. Hope this info serves you and/or others well. 👍
Definitely build a tree platform, you can put 4 sap taps all the way around and just land on the platform with your Argy and collect every few days! Also, another tip, use your Argy to pick up things you want to tame and drop them in a taming pen.
Hey Tem! With the breeding, you can imprint on the babies when they hatch! Just claim them when they are born and hit interact on them again. (Don't forget to give them some food, as they can starve out quickly!) If you have the settings right, you can care for imprinted babies while they grow, giving an impressive imprint bonus when they fully mature 😊
Tip: press left or right before jumping off tame. For breeding tame an oviraptor and overload it’s weight with rocks near breeders to pick up the eggs and fertilized eggs for you to hold on to for your leisure. Also boosts egg laying times. If not weighed down though it will eat your eggs so be mindful of that because you need eggs to tame it but only meat to feed it from trough.
Hey Tem, on the breeding it only transfers their wild + catch stats. You compared your newborns with the levelled up stats of the parents. You either need to note the stats before you level them, or use a mod that reveals the base stats for dinos you've already levelled. Hope you see this and avoid some expensive infanticides :D
Someone ported over Orionsun's Super Spyglass, a simple mod and i like it that way. 2 engrams- basic and plus, i like the basic one...less intrusive UI. Makes breeding so much less tedious.
A tip for dealing with temps, fortitude helps a lot. Fur armor is only good for cold zones, & ghillie armor can help you keep cool while the composite swat style armor does nothing for you temp reactions.
Out of the few people on UA-cam playin ark, you by far have the only voice I can stand 😅thanks for the series man. It's got me into the game as a first time player.
Ark has been a favorite of mine for many years. Spent years playing official. I'm so happy to see you taking the game play seriously. I have truly enjoyed your episodes
When breeding, it will only transfer the unleveled stats, any levels you put in during leveling won't transfer. I usually write down my stats before I level anything I might want to breed.
@@Hyperion520 That can work for a bit, but when you breed exponentially, that can get repetitive and confusing. Generic, numbered names work best (i.e Argy 007). :p At least, when using ASB.
@@richardsnyder5901There is a port over mod of Super Spyglass for ASA, it makes breeding much simpler by tracking tamed/born vs leveled stats with no need to enter each dino inventory. I find using the point system much less complicated.
So couple of tips.. 1) as many other people are saying craft up a tree platform this will allow you to land a flyer on the tree without having to build anything extra and you can access all 4 sap taps. 2) crafting grapple hooks for your crossbow would be super useful, you can use these to pull yourself up cliffs, buildings and hang off of flyers useful for saving yourself from falling to your death 3) on the subject of crafting ammo types, crafting some tranq darts for your longneck rifle could massively help you, they do far less damage than the crossbow tranqs so for lower health tames you will need the darts also your longneck is really good so you shouldn’t need as many, if you press and hold r you can switch between the tranq darts and normal rifle ammo also 4) personal taste but I think it would add some depth to the base if you added some stone pillars on each of the 4 corners of the house as well as on the outside walls of the balcony, and then add the greenhouse doors in the bottom as the double doors can look like large windows, other than that I think the base looks incredible definitely one of my favourite from all the UA-camrs playing this game and I definitely agree with the bed placement too! Genuinely a fantastic series, the editing is fantastic and I love watching you learn and grow, I eagerly await the next video
Hey dude, just a heads up. When taming, use a regular cross bow. Your journey one deals more damage, you don't need damage. All you need is just torpor, so a weak cross bow is ideal. It was the same with original ark survival evolved.
Torpor scales with damage, you want high damage weapons......more damage applies torpor faster and less tranq ammo used. Look at the % chance of a 140 argy dying on dododex in the knockout section, compare a 100% damage crossbow vs 200%.....the % chance of death does not change. The proper 4-5 second intervals between shots is super important on an argy. If normal tames are dying from tranq arrows they were damaged beforehand or they are being shot too quickly.
Really really liking this series, alot of ark lets players I watch are kinda set in there ways so its nice to watch someone came at it with fresh eyes and a different style!
Hey bud, Here is a few tips. #1 With tree taps, you want a wooden tree platform. They snap right under the taps. #2 Looking for a Bary is a great idea they make great water mounts. They also happen to be one of the best mounts for doing caves! #3 Get a few Dino eggs and tame yourself a Oviraptor, they make breeding and kibble production actually manageable. #4 Your Tickle Chicken has a second set of levels in its interaction wheel, you'll want to level up power gathering. Also, the Theri has a whopping THREE forms of gathering. Left click does Hide, Meat, Wood, and some Thatch. Right click harvests Thatch and Fiber like a champion and sometimes Mushrooms and flowers. Finally "C" is a generic berry gatherer.
Hey Tem, haven't played ark in a while so I don't really know if things have change to make this no longer viable but... I always used to convert my raft into a mobile taming pen. 3x3 foundations extend with ceilings, 2- high walls around the front 3 rows (doorway/s to run and shoot through), ramps on the front so dinos can run up and fall into the pen. You can even incorporate the argie pen into it. I also built a small forward operating base off the back of the raft/pen in case things went pear shaped. Bed, storage (w/extra gear), campfire and preserving bin (later upgraded to gen+ref) for prime meat/kibble/veg. If I remember right you can even move the raft around with the unconscious dino if you need to relocate to safety, hell you can even take the tame home so you can work on the base while waiting. Stone makes it so normal dinos cant damage the walls/floor, upgrade to metal and you can use it to capture (not tame) and relocate alphas. Captured alphas are useful to speed levelling low damage herbivores. Take them back to base, soften them up and let the dino you want to level finish the alpha. Hope this helps. P.S. Argies can pick up and carry small dinos, ie raptors and similar sized dinos.
If you want a 100% tame, definitely use kibble, but what you're doing wrong is not starving the creature first. The amount you need to starve it and the amount of kibble you need to use varies based on the level of the tame and your server settings. If you get this figured out, you'll be much happier with your Dino army. Happy hunting!
The solution to falling off points like your argentavis trap site, is to put down some foundations to land on, or even better, a cliff platform if it's a spot that will take one. A cliff platform below your home base would also turn mishaps there into a non-lethal fall, and give you expansion space when you need it.
Sabers, especially in ASA, are very decent mounts. They're fast, decently durable, and do well in caves! Because they're so common, its relatively easy to find a decent one, so I'd reconsider. Obviously, I agree that a Thyla is better in every way - except for the taming process! Also, put points into fortitude to help you fend off temperatures, that plus the correct armor should help.

Man, I got about 1.6k hours in Ark Evolved, I got into ASA, its much rougher, Ive been having a good time playing/watching my favorite yt people play thru. You are doing great.
Quick tip on creature stats. If you want to level a creature but later use for breeding. Inside the inventory you can create a folder and label it. So make folders in the inventory and label them with their original stats eg. (hp 7624) and (melee 325) then you can level you Dino and still have ther original stats right there in the inventory. Lovin your work 🤙🏽

Also FYI for breading, you don't actually put any levels on your breeders. You find the ones with the higher stats that you're looking for and you start breeding them without adding any points to them so that you can always see when they get an upgrade but you could also use. I think a magnifying glass will show you like the original stats of your parents. But I'm not sure. I haven't used that for quite some time. I got so used to super spyglass mod which is available and works well

Tem, Love this ARK series! Not sure if you are a fan of using mods but Super Spyglass Plus from CurseForge is highly recommended for dino taming (torpor), breeding stats and other useful things like what certain containers hold, etc.. Also, maybe a stacking mod would help you free up some space and have higher stack sizes. Trying to get caught up with this series!
Just an FYI but the crossbow narcotics bolts do a lot of damage, so if you research the narcotic round for the rifle you will have a lot easier luck with that. Also you'll need that to go after high level Quetzals and the like.
4:46 If you open the full map from your inventory menu tab (or, more easily, by just double-tapping your map hotkey), you have a number of options, one of which is setting waypoints. Edit: Also, the fabricated sniper takes 'advanced sniper bullets', NOT 'advanced rifle bullets'. The latter only works with turrets and assault rifles, not your spiffy new rifle.
I know you probably already thought of this. But you should definitely think about naming the dragon's Thick 44 and Mrs. Wyvern king.and don't forget the purple paint😊
01:25 If at all possible save hide as it is not really that heavy, some high armor mastercraft and ascendant saddle blueprints require thousands of hide then times that by 20 for a boss army. Smithys have 75 slots, they work well for storage *and so do yard dinos you don't use much like egg layers.
16:00 Yeah, Dinos are loud, but you'll get used to it after a while. Sometimes for me it even feels like something is missing when i got all my dinos in Cryo-pods.
You only need to pay attention to the base stats. Any levels pumped into a stat do not affect genetics. And there's no need to cull baby rexes at this point, just use any undesirable specimens as mounts. You don't usually want to endanger your breeders.
I'm glad you're enjoying this game. I can't play more then 30 minutes before it crashes on me. I'm maybe 2 hours into the game, when it shows I've played 9 hours.
to collect sapfrom tap you need to acces it by "foot" build a tree platform.depending on tree it has 4-5 snap points WARNING: if a unclaimed dino matures it will be considered WILD(it will attack anything(if its a carnovor)). You can alter the sloped ceilings to fit the exact shape you were looking for, much like you would for altering walls to doors. Know you did a ton to get that exterior/interior looking solid, but was a much simpler path to get there. Lessons for the next one!
Sometimes a nice quality crossbow is the last thing you want to use to tranq things... they can do way too much damage. I usually keep a regular bow on me when things get like that.
Not sure what your settings are, but maxing out the difficulty will allow level 150 dinos to spawn. Just be sure to empty the land of all lower level dinos after you change the difficulty because the lower-difficulty dinos do not get removed via settings changes. Also, the house is really looking great! Love the build!
Yea there is something weird with wild levels in his game, single player settings are on by default and i think he started the game that way then changed to hard later without doing a dinowipe after. I think single player settings is still enabled, it's easy to miss in options and it would explain the higher than normal melee damage numbers his tames are getting.
15:55 Honestly you need more real estate, you are still a small operation but will grow....a lot more. I suggest building a ramp down then setup a dino yard on the beach.
Here is what's happening with your breeding. The mating interval is set quite high which will allow the females to produce eggs faster. The temperature on that hill happeans to be perfect to hatch rex eggs so they hatch on their own. The temperature might not be good for the raptors and so those eggs are spoiling on the ground because you aren't there to pick them up. Your baby mature speed is set very high. The rex babies are growing up before they starve to death, you usually have to feed them by putting food in their inventory. Does ASA still allow you to imprint on babies as they grow up? If so you'll want to reduce their growth speed and check your imprint interval timer. Imprinting baby dinos was always an important thing in ASE.

If you double press M you can bring up a special map where you can drop pins that you can click on to track.
Great work on the base! Love the new roof design.
Jaws messed me up for life re: the ocean. I'm right there with you brother lol It's why I joined the Air Force and not the Navy ;)
Maybe add balconies hanging out like 1/2 block from the roof. Should help prevent you from yeeting yourself off the roof in the future XD
Temreci saying he wants to get into dyeing. "Looks at map". :D
Your cabin looks amazing. Great job with it
4:46 If you open the full map from your inventory menu tab (or, more easily, by just double-tapping your map hotkey), you have a number of options, one of which is setting waypoints.
Edit: Also, the fabricated sniper takes 'advanced sniper bullets', NOT 'advanced rifle bullets'. The latter only works with turrets and assault rifles, not your spiffy new rifle.
And don't throw out hide! Good ascendant saddles can take thousands of hide per saddle.
I know you probably already thought of this. But you should definitely think about naming the dragon's Thick 44 and Mrs. Wyvern king.and don't forget the purple paint😊
Love the names, but what wyverns? Seems like Tem has a ways to go before he finds himself in a desert Ark.
01:25
If at all possible save hide as it is not really that heavy, some high armor mastercraft and ascendant saddle blueprints require thousands of hide then times that by 20 for a boss army.
Death runs are indeed peak Ark experience. Thanks for not killing me after breeding more Rexes
Heat resisstance ghuillie armor but a pain to make at this stage. Tame a Oviraptor for eggs
I love the double ceiling for looks only cause thats the crazy shit i do to lol
You really should be using Tranq darts at this point.
Syntac on UA-cam has an amazing breeding for dummies video where he explains breeding and mutations really well and in great detail
25:36 we've all been there
25:45 we've all thought this
-Gotta Say, 1st Time I’ve Seen Ladders Used To Hitch So Much 😀. Its Kinda Fun & Kool. Prolly Them 7Days Situation, Nerd Poling. ARK Usually Has A Way To Rich Higher Stuff.
°Kages For Dinos, Thou Overlook To Hit Them Above Is Prettyy Safe/New. Might Use More Resources Thou 😅
°Getting Your Tame From The Air, Ladder To Heaven On That One; Good Spy Scope & Whistle For That One
°And A Sapper; I Think The Tree House Is For That One, At least The Platform Thou Matt Pending.
You can alter the sloped ceilings to fit the exact shape you were looking for, much like you would for altering walls to doors. Know you did a ton to get that exterior/interior looking solid, but was a much simpler path to get there. Lessons for the next one!
Might be the sloped triangular ceiling rather than sloped ceiling, but a building piece will fit.
I think I know a PRIME candidate for parachutes....Tem pls look into them. Awesome video!
You got some amazing ascendant gauntlets from the red drop
Build a tree house platform. its even higher above the ground and safe (relatively as long as you dont fall)
You keep trapping a lot at the coast ... can you Build a Huge RAFT TRAP ! Have foods stored, a Drap system on it, and a ramp to enter.
build a treehouse platform on the tree itself and land your bird directly on it then you cap place 3 or 4 taps on the tree.
Sometimes a nice quality crossbow is the last thing you want to use to tranq things... they can do way too much damage. I usually keep a regular bow on me when things get like that.
Definitely enjoying your Ark journey!
You should be using dart trancs by now. It doesn't injury the tames as much
Not sure what your settings are, but maxing out the difficulty will allow level 150 dinos to spawn.
If you like the water/ ocean so much, you really should do a Subnautica playthrough!!!!!!
Get yourself ARK Smart Breeder and Dododex. You WON'T be disappointed.
this episode reminds me of a great tale about neebs crossing the ocean on a boat with 2 frogs people dressed as a boat with 2 frogs for halloween
25:36 Ejecto Seato cuz!😂😂😂😂
15:55
Honestly you need more real estate, you are still a small operation but will grow....a lot more.
I suggest building a ramp down then setup a dino yard on the beach.
The rexes hatch and grow because of ambiental temperature if it's hot enough outside it happens
Rare flowers and mushrooms in beaver dams.
11:12 The dino ate mah BABY!
You can make your own markers on the map by double tapping m to open and mark on the map
Sarcos are a great starting underwater tame
Tem does what any of us would in a dinosaur infested world, critique his own interior decorating.
Only damage taken after an animal has been knocked out affects taming effectiveness.
Also, every feeding of their taming food lowers taming effectiveness.
Great work again ... but please .. make a parachute lol
Tames will breed on their own without changing their default settings.
TREE PLATFORM!!!
Bout halfway in and I really hope that Tem finds out about pipes soon...
No pipes or wires in ASA
you're doing great tem
Ark doesn't generally have a 'stability' mechanic... it is different from the way 7 days builds work..lol all the murdered babies! good gawds!
Mr Tim, you might want to take some OSHA safety classes so you know how to use fall protection, guard rails and safe ladder usage. LMAO!
