@Richard Iredale That too, but honestly we need people who are in good health as well, which many older people are not. Dementia isn't a natural part of getting older, it depends on genetics, but it still does effects the elderly more than anyone else. There does need to be some sort of limit. How can you think about the future of our country when you're not going to be alive to suffer the consequences of your actions?
Not only that, but there's no real one-size-fits-all test to show true competency. Because being competent can mean academical intelligence, emotional maturity, understanding of economics and politics, memory, leadership and communication skills etc. etc.
It also depends on the tester's own biases, because like we've seen, people are often very side leaning in this country. Some may say that Biden is fine and others will say the opposite. Some will say Trump is fine and others will say the opposite.
Competence is a hard thing to pin down, especially when it comes to those of importance.
Thomas sowell in his 80s would make a fantastic president.
That's why they have the Amendment for in case a POTUS is incapable of being the POTUS due to mental capabilities. But Joe is not in charge. The DNC and Jill is the puppeteers guiding the clown they Call POTUS.
