It was more than likely dying as you were filming this video as there was a good bit of blood in it's mouth and with a fall from a tree as far up as those things go it probably didn't survive for long.

Jo Crook Actually due to the blanket it gets comforts solely from that, though it can get some more comfort I'd have to agree with Joseph, yes it's going to have to be touched and held anyway but you have to be careful because even slight movements can possibly hurt it (If it has internal injuries) and if not you never know, they probably gave it love and attention after being off of the camera or before being filmed but stopped for the camera just for a moment to show it. The video was literally one minute. Get a grip.
So do you think they are going to put him on a spinal board or what wig his possible spinal and/or internal injuries?? Geez....there are some pretty obvious signs of both internal and spinal injuries that they would notice upon picking him up and moving him around....they are not going to avoid picking him up because of those possibilities if he is not showing any symptoms that would lead them to believe that had occurred. They are just going to handle him carefully and gently as they prepare him and then send him to the sanctuary.I am sure that they will provide him with everything that is necessary to ensure his health, safety and comfort.
I feel the little one was being born when he fell or just had long enough for mamma to clean him. And he act like he needs to nurse. I hope he made it God bless him
Is it common in New World monkeys that they wont come down for fallen baby? Old World monkeys like macaques will usually immediately go after fallen baby. Or is it because Howler is 100% arboreal?

Stop interfering with "mother nature"! You are doing more harm than good and ruining his whole childhood! He'll be good to go in a couple weeks so why grab someone else s baby like you have any right to screw up his entire life! Now what? Keep him caged till he's old? This is just another form of poaching!!!
