I like how Hestia is supposedly the eldest of the Olympian Gods yet she looks the youngest in this anime. What the fuck.
While I am versed on most Greek myths, I really only payed attention to Hestia once she was mentioned in Percy Jackson. There she looks like a ten year old.
I thought Aphrodite was the oldest since she was born right after the Titans overthrew Ouranos

Aphrodite is one of the younger Greek gods in that she was brought to Greece from the Phoenicians as Astarte and thus was put into the pantheon later than anyone else. However, Astarte was taken from Ishtar, the first goddess on record soooo. Mythologically speaking her lore is kinda wonky, yeah she supposedly was created with the overthrow of Ouranos, but then she isn't mentioned again until the Olympians take over. You get some other similar stuff such as Hesphestus being the son of Zeus but also creating something to protect Zeus when he's a kid, if I remember correctly. Overly Sarcastic Productions does really good stuff on mythology if you're into it

Gods and goddesses are masters of many things, and more often than not a god or goddess is known for more than what they are just commonly known for. While I had the same initial reaction, wikipedia at least corroborates that Hestia IS a goddess of architecture. While I cannot stand by that any more than with any other wikipedia article, which I tend to trust loosely, I can say that I have noticed this to be the case with others. For example, Athena is commonly referred to as the goddess of wisdom, while she is far more uncommonly also known as the goddess of war. Poseidon invented and is the god of horses, yes Poseidon, the guy that lives in the ocean, and yes, horses. I don't know why, don't @ me.
Actually Athena is most commonly recognized as the Goddes of architecture

The woman are blatant with their desires so sex actually happens, Bell doesn't angst over nothing and seems to be mostly competent without making everything into a huge deal, and the gods are written so fucking perfectly.
I love this series. Just flat out, utterly adore it. A few more episodes like this and it'll earn it's place at the top of the abridged series list.

And technically, she's the goddess of the hearth, not architecture. So, she could smite him with a column of fire. But I get the feeling that this abridged series isn't supposed to be historically accurate, and having not seen the actual anime, i don't know if that's accurate either.

+Michael Funderburk it would seem to be more in line with her portfolio. it would make more sense to us, but the problem is we are looking at things after the fact. the thing to understand about greek mythology is that these gods and such did not all emerge in the same time or the same place. often times the myths and religions developed separately in separate societies which then merged together producing a pantheon of once separate characters. as a result of this there are often conflicting or inconsistent facets to the myths in terms of who governs what. another issue Is that the myths and gods continually changed. Athena in Athens would be different from athena in sparta and different also from herself 300 years prior in the same place. if all we look at is Homer's Iliad and odyssey we get a false sense of consistency. these myths started and evolved long before him and continued to evolve long after him. we also know little about how much of his texts were actuality reflective of mainstream belief and how much liberty was taken with them to make some point or for some other artistic licence. Greek mythology is as complex as its history.

Dexterity is how much you can bend your body while agility is how fast you can bend you body. Also a level 0 fighter is a 8 year old call of duty player, with a mic. Or someone who looks like me.
Ahh no. Dexterity IS how precisely and fast you can control your hand movements. Agility is your level of overall balance and also deals with your Movement Speed. Gotta break-off them old D&D blinders boys...

I'd say it's more than slightly better, though if we're just talking arc 1 then yeah, that's probably accurate. Better enough to bump it from "bad" to "meh".

She is goddess of architecture though. While the Percy Jackson books maintain a pretty good connection to the original lore, it isn't going to be perfect 100% of the time. But yeah, Hestia is also goddess of architecture which I think might explain why both here and in the original series she gets along with Hephaestus... That and the fact she's one of the few gods that doesn't make you wanna choke a bitch. xD

The pacing is a little fast, but there's a lot of potential for sure
I just love how this is just the blunt version of what's going on with about every single girl Bell meets
Um… is it just me or did something get cut out of this? Because I know that I saw a seen where we saw the Loki familia
the only problem so far is that the characters can sometimes be difficult to understand, if I can't make out what they are saying that's a pretty big issue, other than that it's great and I hope you continue.
