This show was such a banal, naked power fantasy, I knew there was going to be attempts to Abridge it. I didn't know that none other than Something Witty was going to be one of the attempts. I hope they nail this one to the cross.
Nah you're exaggerating! The average age of his wives is 78 years old. The median age is 13, though, and his harem includes a 10 years old and 2 12 years old, but let's stick to the average.
I need it to be expressedly clear, because some people on stream had no idea, this isn't a new series. At the end of an anniversary stream, they unveiled this as an April Fools joke, and then the preview for the latest SAOA episode. They are already making two abridged series, and from what I understand, they dislike actual smartphone anime more than SAO or BNHA.
So my working theory on this is that 'girl's are a skill now' is basically like what's happening in SAOA with the charisma stat. Muffin is essentially the low level opponent, so Touya's words basically have an addictive effect on her. Anything he says or suggests is basically the best thing ever for her, which is why she became immediately addicted to tea at his suggestion and then demands his praise like a junkie.
@@Sazazezer Maybe same level? She was not nearly as effected as Muffin and even could speak back to Touya with Touya sensing he could not assert his will and was unable to change her name

The ad break being read by Abridged Asuna’s VA is actually amazing cause it would be hilarious for when Asuna wakes up in SAOA to become a spokesperson for a VPN and talk about how it would’ve come in handy for her when she got trapped in the Alfheim game to escape the dungeon she was in. And then a guy from the company is like “wait, what was that last part?”
now now. that anime was basically let's gift this guy literally everything and set the difficulty on extra easy mode. the personalities of the characters being a wet paper towel were by design.

@@GiubileiFernandoCould be different or multiple meanings. But, my takeaway was… the implication is Touya impregnate her to make his wife. Hence break-off/take a piece of her
The whole isekai godlike powers but mainly perfectly intelligent women losing all agency and becoming a mindless harem is such an unsettling concept to me and this episode perfectly exemplified that unsettling tone but in a subtle way just goes to show the genius of this video. He's not a humble protagonist, he'd a manipulative control freak and only by witnessing someone worse than him can his character arc comes to any satisfying conclusion.
I just wanna say that in the original dub of this anime, the duke is my favorite character. He’s just so kind and sincere. Something Witty Entertainment has flipped him 180 degrees around and he’s still the best character in this.
Yes, it is; they premiered the episode on twitch (near) April Fools Day after doing a full watch through of the series and hinting there would be a surprise at the end.
@@theheroneededwillette6964So did I before noticing the sudden increase of OP Kirito (Non-abridged version) harem protagonists with cheats and able to solve everything making everyone seem incompetent or weak except for the main cast but underestimated by literally everyone only to then be folded by the protagonist because they counter all enemy types including but not limited to bandits, adventurers, boss monsters, leaders of the demon army, etc, popping up everywhere and eventually coining the trope as a Kirito being the easiest protagonist to write as a self-insert character that is relatable even though they’re Demi-humans which turns them into characters for a power fantasy which although not a bad concept immediately makes them bland without proper writing as there’s no development for them most of the time. Edit: Sorry for the longest sentence without proper punctuation. Edit 2: Could be wrong but there’s also the “for his neutral special he wields a gun” trope?
@@Punched_Kuze I don’t think this one specifically started that. And again, I don’t really mind that. It’s kind of like old Superman. It’s not a interest in if, it’s and an interest in how.

I laughed, so fucking hard at this. I laughed harder knowing that a bunch of people rage quit the Swebathon when it came on before the latest SAOA episode, because they thought they'd been tricked 😂
So basically it's kinda like when trey and Matt made a 1 hour special episode of Terrance and Phillip for April fools when they were supposed to air the episode of the reveal of Cartman's father back in the 90s resulting in people getting so pissed off
SO I was wondering what is swebathon? I've been a big fan of this channel since SAO episode 1. So I don't really pay attention to the ppl that rage quit content.
@Mina_Angel they have a twitch channel I don't really follow it because I'm not on twitch. But their regular content there seems to be DnD stuff and streams. For their anniversary they streamed every episode of SAOA and did creator commentary on them. It was like, 10 or 12 hours long or something like that. And the fans started jokingly calling it a Subathon. Which I understand is some twitch thing involving long streams with the intent of getting subs. They took exception to that and kept denying it was a subathon and then someone in the chat called it the SWEbathon. And the rest is history lol
It's amazing to see a "classic" abridged, with all the completely insane characters and borderline nonsensical plot, done in SWE's unique style. If this continues, it could really be something incredible
They wouldn’t be able to. Having the king married to the “child bride” kinda ruins everything considering she actually gets married to the mc later. I mean I’m sure they could spin it in some way, but it would make this worse than their “abridged” version already is. I honestly like sao abridged, it I was greatly disappointed by this one.
@@ЯБезымянный-о5фin the light novels it does have plot, but unfortunately it’s not translated well in the anime and takes forever to get into it. At first the mc is able to take out enemies no problem like most mcs do, but then he comes across some that he can’t beat and it snowballs into a war, and then during said war a major city in a neighboring country gets destroyed and the country tries to blame it on the mc as if it was his fault, even though he saved them. It starts getting pretty good, but it takes a bit to get there.
@@NautilusGray Knowing how they repurpose gross awful scenes like the incest plotline in the Fairy Dance arc of SAO, there is no way in hell they would keep the protagonist getting married to the child bride (which from what I've seen in other comments is unfortunately exactly what happened), so this point is rendered moot. In SAO Abridged they very much do drastically changing shit unsalvageable content so I have no idea why you feel so differently about this one
@@zeph769 oh yes, they repurposed it from having the child marry someone 4 years older than her to her marrying someone that’s like 40 years older than her… are you even listening to yourself? They took something that was only slightly bad because they were around the same age and made it 10 times worse by having her married to an old man. And you are commending them for it? And by the way, the mc refuses to marry her until she’s older in the books, when she has fully thought about it and has the mental capacity to make that choice. Oh, but the old man married her while she was 11. So much better right? Is that what you wanted 😂 And you do realize that suguha and Kazuto are only cousins right? They wouldn’t be able to. Having the king married to the “child bride” kinda ruins everything considering she actually gets married to the mc later. @@ЯБезымянный-о5фin the light novels it does have plot, but unfortunately it’s not translated well in the anime and takes forever to get into it.
