- Meet Stefania who is the CEO of Elle Lokko and Lokko House.
Stefania was born in Ghana, moved to Italy, and then back to Ghana to begin the journey of her new business. She has been able to build her business from a popular Ghanaian saying "Chale Why".
It has since made her very prominent in the creative space in Ghana.

I can relate to her first life in Italy as you may think or feel as Italians are racist but when you start to learn their language and dive into their culture you forget the racist you think about them.

Great interview!! Panning the store with camera shots was not enough. Wished you had Stefani give closeup of a few pieces of clothes, bags or necklaces in her shop. It seems a little high end in price but pieces can be incorporated into western wear. Is she part of fashion shows during Afrochella?
I’m not sure but I wouldn’t be surprised if she was.

I do not understand Ghana calling people Bronie. What is that? She looks, Black. I live in Atlanta, Ga and I am African American and of African descent. What does it mean to be bronie. Is it buigie or acting white? What exactly does that mean. She looks just like us and many people in America. These so-called white people consider everybody that looks black as black. So, this bronie calling needs to stop and Ghana people need to be educated. I am quite sure there are mixed people in ghana that have mixed blood and I am not talking about white because Africa comes with different shades of brown to almost so-called white. She is just light skin like many people in America and that does not mean you are white. It could be native, Mexican, or whatever. My sister has very light skin just like this woman in the video. I don't understand what is a bronie. The diaspora wants to come back home but they don't want to be called bronie. We deal with a lot of racism in America and police brutality. Even if you never experience it yourself, it is present all the time. I could tell you a lot of what I have sent and how people have been treated from being watched when entering the store to police pulling you over for no reason other than driving while black and job discrimination etc. My plan is to move to Ghana soon and buy some property and retire there.
You got it all wrong.. you can be as dark skinned as I am, but if you behave like a white person, you live outside Ghana for a long period of time or visit Ghana from the diaspora, you might be labeled as obroni because of cultural differences … Don’t take it personal…and pls , my people are very well educated. Did she say "Kunta Kinte"? That was disrepectful in my opinion. Last time I checked, Kunta didn't wear African prints, well at least not while he was an American slave in the 1700-1800s.
I guess she did not mean to disrespect the Kente cloth but just trying to make fun of people resistance to change ND not wanting to try new things
thank you for the correction Sabby. I meant to reference the hoteps actually. Some terms out here in Ghana sometimes get thrown around quite freely and there are some different meanings attached to them once you cross borders. No harm was intended.
