    Nice Mooney and panel! Fellow Mooney pilot and Garmin panel user. I recommend using IAS on the AP, it should default to vy. You can enable this on the ground so when you turn on the AP in the air, IAS will already be on and you can't get too slow during the climb.

      I was going to say the same and wait until you're above 2500 ft AGL so you have some altitude to work a runaway trim (which the GFC 500 did have a history of... personal experience)

    Slowing down without speed brakes means power to idle. Advise you passengers that you are going to pull up and that it is normal. Once past the FAF get to the lowest part of the glideslope and pull up at around 10 degrees and watch the airspeed fall. Once below Vle drop the gear. Then get back on the glideslope. In my E it would take around 150 feet to get the gear down. When the controllers want you to keep the speed up they will appreciate that you can comply. Without doing this you will never get below Vle.

    Chris, what speed are you at during short final and then over the numbers? My K, I do 80kts, slowing to 70kts over the numbers prior to the flair. My E was the same, except MPH, lol. Also, could you tell me your true going to FL at what Alt, and Power settings and FF. Thanks, Awesome plane!

      Thank you sir! She likes 75 over the numbers and 85 on short final. If it’s windy I like 5knots faster.
