We've always loved our rough moldavite, but after seeing Justin's creation, we've become big fans of the faceted variety! What do you prefer? Would you like us to feature more gem faceting on here? Let us know!
Would love to see high-domed Moldavite cabochons or sugarloafs, especially with quatrefoil borders, and/or any surface corrugation/grooving details. I also enjoy briolettes and hexagonal facets. Justin does amazing work. He pulls the eye in by bringing life to gems. (A close family friend from Moldau had that on the license plate of her 6 figure car.)
Moldavite is one of my favorites, ever since I watched the episode with Rebecca and Bill featuring Moldavite. This faceted version by Justin, just blew me away! What a wonderful addition to Bill's collection. I hope he'll bring it along to share in future videos. Justin has amazing talent and insight and Bill just makes my day. Thank you for sharing with us remote viewers.
Justin K Prim is amazing! He and his wife are the most amazing team! And that moldavite piece is awesome; to be cut and faceted into the gemstones logo was brilliant! It turned out amazing and came out of Justin's imagination! It is definitely one of a kind!
Thank you Bill! Thank you Justin! Moldavite is one of my favourite gemstones. Showing the transition from rough to faceted was truly educational , for me!
4:03 I completely agree, that’s incredibly encouraging to hear as I also struggle with math but I’m still learning how to facet! I can make a cabochon if I take my time so I definitely know I’m capable of learning more. Can’t wait for the day where I create my first faceted gemstone! Awesome video as always💎
An interesting follow up would be how Moldavite can be used as a gemstone, that is a creative setting that will protect it. It's soft, friable, and generally unsuited for use as a gemstone since it is only glass, albeit a very special glass. As a ring? Difficult. Pendant? More promising. Maybe a dangle from a nasal septum nose ring? Now that would be something else! Would fit the current market perfectly.
cutting this gem... is a love hate thing for me... on one side, its such a rare and amazing mineral, that only has a limited amount on earth, it should be kept in specimen form only and use that way in jewelry and stuff, it would be even cooler it all the pieces that were ever recovered could be scanned, then perhaps in 100 years they can recreate the shape of comet itself...... on the other side... its such a beatiful stone and has such amazing beauty when worked... perhaps the actual and true beauty of the stone comes out when worked...
Spectacular! I'd find away to secure and seal it in a shatter-proof glass case and attach it as an x-mas tree topper. That tree had better be anchored with no curious cats around. Chrysler Pentastar hood ornament, eat your heart out! (Even if those originals were indeed leaded crystal designed by the French red-box designer.) 👌🏻Magnifique!
The reason for this stone was in my vision of ,meteorit broke into the atmosphere and fell near my presence, which made me search for it and found it, and that was really fun.
I almost got two faceted moldavite's at the Denver gem and mineral show a few weeks ago. The guy would not take credit cards. 🙂 He had a big table of the stuff, though it was a bit expensive.
@@gems What about other raw pieces that are of similar weight / size ? What would be the approximate price ? Also, would you kindly make a video on some authentic sellers of moldavite ? It's damn tough to know where to buy genuine moldavite, cause 99% sellers sell fakes.
Moldavite and Shungite are the only stones or crystals that I can completely and definitely feel. Moldavite makes me absolutely crazy and insane, also extremely forgetful. Shungite is just the opposite, grounded, peaceful and clean. ✨👁️💓👁️✨
You two would have shit yourself if you could have seen my moldavite collection. If I only could have know how crazy ppl went for it I would have kept it all. My buddy has a gem shop and idk how put hooked up with a local farmer from over there who was living close to the area they first found it and we were getting it $3 a gram and I’m talking cases and cases of this stuff anywhere from little broken chunks to multiple pieces in the high 40 low 50 gram pieces
You should NOT cut and polish a Moldavite. It is a (one specific) meteorite impact glass, that's what special about it. When you cut and polish it, it's just glass.

Lucifer's Tear . Legend has it the green gem on the Holy Grail is Moldavite.
Stunning stone indeed. And it has such a temperamental flow on the inside of it. It feels more alive as you look into it.

So neat to see the geometry behind the facets!

Beautiful stone. I kind of wandered away to the stories of Atlantis, don't know why. Rebecca, congratulations! I saw! 😉
That is gorgeous.
Beautiful job! Absolutely beautiful!!!
As someone who cannot draw a straight line, Emerald green with envy.
I love math! I have a 3.33 ct Moldavite Trillion. I'm saving it for something special ❤
One of the absolute greatest lapidasts alive. I have a really hard time Moriarty or Prim, ok I can't choose.
He's definitely on our list of favorites!
Justine is the man. I wish I could take one of Justin’s courses
Me too, I discovered him just after they left Thailand
Wow!
I love Bill so much ❤❤❤ And so good to see Rebecca again!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
And also, Justin did a phenomenal job with that Moldavite, just stunning!!!
Nicely done 🤘🔥😎🔥

Very cool!! 🥰
Beautiful. Simply complexingly (I made this word up just for you) beautiful.
Any idea what the value of a 500 gram piece of Moldavite would be. Any ideas please comment. Thanks
I almost got two faceted moldavite's at the Denver gem and mineral show a few weeks ago. The guy would not take credit cards. 🙂 He had a big table of the stuff, though it was a bit expensive.
That's too bad!
Absolutely love it. 😍🤩
Is possible to burn a moldavite and make it liquid ?
How much does this particular piece (shown in the video) cost ?
I don’t think Bill would sell it, so, for now, it’s priceless

I would love a Moldavite twenty sided die. 😍
I would name that stone 'earth star'
Absolutely gorgeous!! Good thing it's not going to be used for jewelry. I had a faceted moldavite set in a ring and it broke!😭
Oh no!
Is it easily broken?

Why's the side now the bottom 🤔
