Ford Focus Mk2. No start, no crank, immobiliser error/ Ecu/ Pats 16. [English subtitles]

Frequent problems in Ford. Lack of crank, car is dead. Immobiliser diode is flashing rapidly and no “milage” digits displayed. After 1 minute diode is flashing code 16 (PATS 16 error code). It can be faulty IC cluster, but on the road it is not possible to fix it. You can check few basic things to eliminate IC cluster issue.
1. Check the fuse
2. Check resistance on OBD pins 6 & 14
60 Ohms - is correct value
120 Ohms - CAN bus connection is broken somewhere. But most likely your IC Cluster is OK!
3. Check E9 socket in engine fuse box
4. Check all sockets in the fuse box in passenger footwell
5. As last resort check sockets c112 & c113 close to the passenger’s door
Even when the sockets look clean and there are no obvious signs of corrosion, it is still very likelly that there is weak contact.
Use some penetrating contact cleaner and try several times to disconnect and reconnect. Those electrical gremlins are really annoying and challenging to fix.

Super filmik. Miałem tak samo z licznikiem, dodatkowo nie działał panel klimatyzacji, kontrolki kierunków, świateł długich, na stałe świeciła kontrolka pasów i ręcznego. Auto naprawione dzięki Panu. DZIĘKUJĘ!!!

Bonjour Mr. J'ai suivi votre vidéo et grâce a vous j'ai réussi a réparer ma Ford focus. Ma panne était dans le connecteur bleu C112 je crois, il y avait une petite oxydation, j'ai mis du WD40 puis de la graisse pour connecteur. Très cordialement.

Hi. Most of the problems in Fords like that are result of cold solder joints in the IC Cluster (speedometer). Especially opened a booth and closed and then it starts, it suggests that “shaking the car” helps. Try to hit with your hand your dashboard in the area of IC Cluster and observe if this is changing anything. If car is not starting and after few hits in the dashboard it starts then I would first removed the IC Cluster and attempt to verify and repair it. If you have IC cluster verified of repaired and you still have an error code then problem might be somewhere in the wires harness - most likelly bad connections on sockets
@@QJAK73 Also, got problem that the car start and when I let go the key it shuts down, also happend while driving slowly. Any ideas around this one?
@@nikolamilenkovic-cd5cs not sure what you mean that you let go the key… probably you should connect diagnostic tool. Also in near the key barrel there is antena that detects key. This can be faulty as well. If there is problem with key recognition then different error code is flashed. But I do not have any experience with Fiesta and also hard to advise remotely 😉
@@QJAK73 When I turn the key motor start fine, but as soon as I let go the key motor shuts down. To me it looks like key is not holding contact well because if I hold the key after ignition motor will continue to run fine but if I let go the key motor will shut down. In this case immobilizer light is all good it turns it self off. Any ideas how?

Ciao bel video e dettagliato che cosa e codice 12 da un paio di giorni mi lo fa pero la mchina parte dopo aver stacato e riatacato il connettore del quadro grazie
See here for error codes: mhhauto.com/Thread-PATS-SECURITY-FLASH-CODES. Code 12 means incorrect antenna, which detects your key. However very likelly you can get this error when your battery is weak. Recharge your battery. If battery is very old probably you need to change to a new one
Mam problem z fordem focusem cmax 2005 rok . Ten sam problem potrafi rozłaczyc sie w trakcie jazdy. Zauważyłem ,że jeżeli uderze w licznik lub w kokpit załącza sie spowrotem .

@QJAK73 witam ale nie pamiętam ale pierwszy chyba 3 razy po rezerwa z nowi 3 y a dalej nie pamiętam
33 - nie na takiego kodu. Jest kod 13 - nierozpoznany kluczyk albo 23 - komputer i licznik nie sa ze soba sparowane.
@@QJAK73 na początku musiałem pukać w deskę rozdzielczą lub od dołu kierownicy kolumnę i pomagało ale teraz nic i wymieniłem wkładkę stacyjki auto bez alarmy tylko centralny zamek jednym kluczykiem to było wymieniane

Jezeli nie ma pradu w calym samochodzie to trzeba zaczac od poczatku. Najbardziej podejrzane sa bezpieczniki i przekazniki. Od tego trzeba zaczac. Moj filmik pokazuje gdzie szukac przyczny jak licznik miga dioda blad 16. W twoim przypadku rozumiem ze nie ma zadnej reakcji, zero pradu
