Absolutely! And thanks for sharing your ideas with me, Heimo. I think we're just at the beginning of the interactive video explosion. It's a good time to be in this field. 😀
@@KimberlyGoh Oh wow that one is a bit weird - my initial reaction is to go against the grain since I don't actually want to keep up with 'The Bakers' :)) guess this marketing ploy can also blow back
@@imb23 I agree - The Bakers was a bit odd :) Check out "Mission Impeccable" for a more exciting plot. I believe in the original interactive version, people could click on outfits to add them to a shopping cart ua-cam.com/video/8FrB663mBns/v-deo.html
Hi Kimberly , Thanks for the nice Video. Were you a teacher at any point of time ? How do you do your Sub-title/captions ? Just starting to make some odd videos. Lots to learn.....
Thanks so much! I haven't officially taught in a classroom, but as an instructional designer, I do a lot of teaching online through my online courses at the Interactive Skills Academy. interactiveskillsacademy.thinkific.com/ For subtitles, UA-cam will automatically generate them based on what you say in the video (you can do this after you upload your video) support.google.com/youtube/answer/2734796?hl=en Best wishes to you on your UA-cam journey!
Hi Rex Ryan! That's a great question - I'm not sure what he used, but I do know you can achieve similar results by importing video files into Articulate Storyline 360 :)
@atiyasultan not familiar with the UA-cam camtasia interactions, but we're building a tool at RevelForms that makes it seamless for interactive videos right on your UA-cam videos.
Happy to help, Shivamil! I'd recommend checking out this free 1 hour UA-cam class first. Then if you want to learn more, they'll give you access to a more advanced class at the end of the video, which I highly recommend. BTW, I wasn't sure if you meant you're interested in creating a UA-cam video (which is not interactive) or an interactive video. That UA-cam class is for UA-cam videos you can add to your channel. Hi Kimberly, could you please recommend an affordable tool/software for creating interactive mobile-first travel vlogs? Hope to hear back from you soon. Thank you!
Hi Katha! That's a great question - I specialize in interactive training videos, which is a very different audience than travel vlogs. All of the software I normally use (Articulate Storyline 360, Camtasia, Vyond etc) work seamlessly on mobile. What kind of interactivity are you trying to create? And what tools are you currently using?
@@KimberlyGoh Hi again and thank you so much for the prompt response! So would you recommend the above mentioned tools for vlogging? I'd like to create an immersive vlog for the audience - where they can participate.
@@kathanauriyal9320 Camtasia is a good video editing tool that also allows you to create interactivity (choices). You can get a free trial here techsmith.z6rjha.net/c/2720431/506622/5161 and I have a number of Camtasia tutorials on my channel that explain how it works. But keep in mind that Camtasia interactivity doesn't work on UA-cam. Another option is to create a UA-cam channel for your vlog and ask your followers for input via the comments. Once you get 500 subscribers you'll also get a Community Tab that will allow you to create polls for people to answer. You can create new videos in response to what they say. If you decide to use UA-cam (which is free and probably the best way to find an audience), I'd recommend checking out this course to get started courses.seancannell.com/a/37664/QEkUJmiL Good luck to you with your vlog!
Thanks for the question, Louisiana Television Channel! I haven't used interactr evolution, so I can't comment on how good it is. It looks like interactr evolution is designed especially to support online marketing/sales, so if that's how you're using it, that will probably be fine :) My specialty is interactive videos for corporate training, which is why I tend to use Articulate Storyline or Camtasia.
@@louisianatelevisionchannel6727 Great question! If you're producing interactive media (with Storyline or Camtasia), they don't produce simple video files. For Articulate Storyline, I usually use Google Cloud platform as described in this video: ua-cam.com/video/74VQd6YNTXI/v-deo.html
@@louisianatelevisionchannel6727 If you're using Camtasia, it's much easier because you can output to Screencast as described in this video: ua-cam.com/video/ToUeS2GrK9g/v-deo.html
@@louisianatelevisionchannel6727 Personally, I think Screencast is the easiest option to use, and it produces a link you can paste anywhere. If Screencast doesn't work for you, you can also export your Camtasia interactive videos using the TechSmith smart player as described here: ua-cam.com/video/zXvn53y5mpo/v-deo.html
Hey, the video seems impressive but lacks certain information like how does the interactive video works (the logic behind it). It could also have been helpful to let us know if any of the regular video editing tools like After effects, Adobe Premiere, FCP, or any common applications that graphic designers use can help make them. Thanks!
Hi Pavan! Thanks so much for the great questions. This video was really just an overview - I'll get more into the logic behind interactive video in future tutorials. For now, you might want to check out this one for a simple demo using Camtasia. ua-cam.com/video/ToUeS2GrK9g/v-deo.html (Camtasia doesn't allow you to use variables and the hotspot functionality is a bit limited, which is why I recommend Storyline 360 for more robust interactive video development). Articulate Rise is another tool you can use for interactive scenarios - check out this video to learn more about how that works ua-cam.com/video/pFWrNevIbHc/v-deo.html As far as I know, traditional graphic design programs like After Effects etc. don't usually include interactive elements like hotspots. Camtasia was the only one I found with that feature. Most of the time, interactive features show up in eLearning authoring tools instead of graphic design tools, since eLearning developers need that functionality more often. Hope that helps!
Great question, Brush Up Point! Unfortunately, Camtasia interactivity doesn't work on UA-cam because UA-cam only allows linear video to be uploaded. (UA-cam has it's own version of interactivity through the use of endcards and cards. The challenge is there is no guarantee that they won't change endcard/card functionality, plus it can be difficult to manage complex branching. That's why I use Camtasia or Articulate storyline for my projects instead).
@@KimberlyGoh I too create videos on writing and spoken eng... My videos mostly involve screen recording as I don't show up in the videos... Will it a good investment if I opt for camtasia? Can it be my all in one video editor?
