As far as Old Pulteney releases go, the old 17 and 21 year old were thd best... I wish they could be made again!
totally agree!!!
OP 12, very good value for money indeed, I often see it on cleareance, so grab two! BTW, I'd suggest equalizing the outro volume with the main video volume if possible. Cranked up the volume to hear you then the outro blared quite a bit lol
thanks
My favourite is the 15 but I agree that the 12 is very nice indeed. I recently attended a Pulteney tasting event and the guy from Pulteney was talking about how the 12 is very reminiscent of the Pulteney new make spirit and that the new make is similar to rhum agricole with its feinty and funky characteristics. Can't confirm that as I've never tried rhum agricole. But maybe you can.
interesting
Totoro on whiskybase nicknamed this Old Pulteney 17 as Craigellachie 23's little brother. I kinda agree with him.
As I prefer the Craigellachie 17 to the Craigellachie 23 - I quess it would be a cousin then ??
I really like the 15 and the 18. The 15 is a bit bolder in flavour, but I love the perfect balance and integration of the 18. curiosu about the 25.
Thanks Jason
Only one slice of Sachertorte..?!?!
I found the Old Pulteney 25 at a local store for $549. For that kind of money in SoCal I can buy 2 bottles of Glenfarclas 25 and have $150 left over.🥃
great idea
I enjoy the salty butterscotch moment the OP12 offers.
very interesting - thanks!
The 25 yo Old Pulteney costs ~345 euros in Bulgaria and doesn't look like flying off the shelves. Way, way above the price I'd be willing to pay for a bottle of booze. I'd pay say 25 euros for a sample though. AnCnoc 24 in a humble tube goes for almost 220 euros less.
I had my eye on the 15 yo but never bought it. 67 euros seem a little too much for a whisky that nobody seems to recommend very much.
As for the idiotic over the top packaging I haven't come across one that annoys me. Maybe Doorly's 14 yo rum fits the bill to an extent. But then again I haven't bought any 20 + years old whiskies or "super limited" NAS Macallans that come in a wardrobe like packages.
Chrers!
ancnoc 24 is soo good
