In this video I am building a custom Skaven plague furnace from the bits leftover after I built my Screaming Bell. I had a great time! If you are thinking about building a Skaven army for Age of Sigmar of Warhammer the Old World you might like this one.

Reply yes yes to this comment if you wanna see more Skaven on this channel
YES YES! Got a bunch of clanrats, weapon teams and rat ogres based up for old world so this gets my inspiration going!
Good tip with the superglue on the balsa, i was afraid for the durability of the build. Almost like the wood breaks from the weight of the plastic!
yes yes
🐀
yes yes man thing
Ratmen? Under our city? Absurd! (But yes.)
Hell yes yes!!!
Let's be honest, a model catching fire during construction would be totally on-brand for the Skaven.
Just imagining the little skaven engineers looking on in horror as their battle wagon caught fire for literally no reason (they dont understand chemical reactions)
Its a horrible day for them
Before I remembered warpstone existed, I definitely thought you were going to do the one-foot-up guy standing on a piece of cheese.
Same. I was also thinking "can't believe this dude is actually giving skaven cheese
Two kit builds in one box container Yes yes!
Yes yes
I love all the little "hell yeah" "sick as hell" and "nice" quips throughout this. 😁
A wire bristle brush is also a good way to go for achieving scale wood grain texture when working with balsa wood. A little less fiddly, too.
I find it more fiddly tbh, it makes all these splintery burrs everywhere and fhe texture is not very deep
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop One of the latest videos of the channel Night Shift he actually found that it's easier to use some kind of plastic 'weathered' (I'm not sure of the proper word here) with a wire brush to make wooden boards than to actually use balsawood despite he's been using it since years if not decades.
@@csabahegedus1744thin styrene sheets, I believe.
@@csabahegedus1744 Interesting. You know which one?

This one, I think.
Man, i like your take on it more than the actual kit. Nothing looks better than wood than wood itself. It's not over engineered or overloaded with details.
I laughed audibly when you mentioned the CVS receipts. I think CVS is single-handedly keeping the receipt paper cartel in business.
Safeway receipts used to be like that as well until they had all of their coupons be digital only.
The flavor of skaven warpstone magic is sour green apple
My favorite sour candy flavor.
skaven skaven yes yes
I appreciate the green backlight to be on theme, subtle and appropriate yes yes
That was just my warpstone hoard, I don’t like to let it out of my sight for too long
Very good choice indeed!
Was feeling a bit sad, but this 🔥 of a video came, and helped me look past the gloom of today's worries. Totally would like to see your skaven army
This is peak Warhammer. Much creativity, yes yes.
psa betterhelp sucks
Great build as always. I wish every UA-camr would do sponsor segments like this.
Yes, yes!
Yes Eric you built it with a medieval/fantasy version of a lift axle yes yes yes, great work, love watching your vids
As an Org Chem major, that "weird reaction" you mentioned is the cyanoacrylate polymerizing which is how all superglue hardens, as for the smoke its either just that, smoke, or it might be vaporizing some of the glue which you sometimes se, especially when using an accelerator!
I'm sure others have said this before me, but DAMN! I think that's better than the GW kit.
This is awesome man, good job. Came here for the terrain vids, stayed for the creativity in everything you touch
Absolutely phenomenal bit of kitbash o/
Yes yes, Erics does do it again. Magnificent work creation, yes yes
I really like add small metal pins (like for sewing purposes) into the balsa wood when gluing together. Then cut off excess pin. It makes the impression of nails and also add more structure to gluing :)
Eric this is fantastic! I love watching your channel because your creativity is amazing. I don't know if you appreciate how great it can be to watch. You seem so casual about your design decisions and the aesthetic you bring to each project. It is inspiring (and a little intimidating) how easy you make this look. I LOVE watching what you make. When I try my brain gets vapor-locked, it truly is watching art brought to life. Thank you for sharing with us
I feel the same! You said it best!
THIS is the kind of wargaming video we need these days, getting the most out of expensive kits is great 😎🤙
I’ve been avoiding watching mini videos and a lot of the hobby as a whole due to some personal stuff. Thank you for helping me yearn for what I used to with my minis. All glory be to The Great Horned Rat!
Damn Eric, thats great build! that warpstone crystal looks mad!
Your are the best craftman on earth !!! Thks for all your vidéos!!
That is one wild build you did there from "left over parts". Love the idea of the Plague rats
GW does this with most of their kits, they give you one full and half the other options, to "force" you to buy another one.
But modelers are always one step forward. Kudos to you Eric for another great build.
Yes yes yes, we want more skaven inventions.... Great job by the way, this will be my next DIY project.
Yes yes! More Skaven content-videos!
This is such an awesome scratchbuild I can barely believe it
This is so cool! After I saw your Reel for this on Instagram I actually bought one of these kits and wanted to attempt the same thing! Thanks for the full video, love your stuff 🔔🐀
This is such an exceptional conversion. Great job as ever
I did basically the same with the Dakkajet kit, some basically plane-shaped toys get all the gubbins glued all over them with a spare ork boy for a pilot and boom, three flyers for one kit. It's fun to have unique versions of the units too
Yes yes!
What an amazing project and conversion. GW should look at you for inspiration!
This is sensational! Truly one of the best builds I've seen in a long time.
There’s some legit carpentry going on in this build-and some really nice design choices. Plus, it’s cool as 💩!
This was fantastic. I hope to see more skaven projects in the future 🤩
Great kitbashing! Love to see more
This is absolutely amazing!
Bro, another home run!
Yes yes, Eric man thing!
Fantastic kitbash and lovely painting!
That's superb. Love it.
Awesome work, very inspiring!
This turned out great!
You and goobs have both given me so much inspiration for quick and effective ways to change monopose figures into a stronger array of weird little lads! Thanks!
Amazing work! Would love to see it side by side with screaming bell.
Really loving the build!!!! Would love to see more Skaven😊
Been watching quite a long time. And I have to say you truly have become a master of Crafting outstanding work!
Awesome build!
Damn Ive been considering starting a Skaven army and this seals the deal. Awesome work!
Spectacular result - the looks fit perfectly with the GW stuff, so you could be fooled that it isnt a plastic kit!
Stunning work Eric!
Awesome job!
Definitely looks cool
I did this about ten years ago and they turned out great!
This is such a great build! I will definitely be taking inspiration from this!
This is awesome now I wanna do this
This is absolutely awesome, Eric.
This couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m getting ready to build the bell this weekend and didn’t know what to do with the extra bits. Yes yes would love more rats yes.
Amazing job
Really nice build and great video!
DUDE!
OUTSTANDING!
I definitely like the contrast between the elaborate design of the GW model and your choice of a more minimalist and utilitarian wagon, super cool!
I LOVE Skaven, and I don’t see nearly enough of them, so I for one would be super excited to see more!
Awesome build! Also, if you (or others) do more balsa wood builds, I'd recommend using some flat head pins - add some structural integrity and rivets/nails in one step!
yes yes, would love to se more skaven on the channel. Also i really liked what you said about the different stages of painting, it is how it looks in the end that is important not how it looks during the painting process.
That's awesome!!!
Great work and I think it's really cool that you bring awareness to mental health resources!
Eric
Glad you have the sponsor you do for this video. Prior to retirement, I worked for 30+ years as a counselor/ therapist, and appreciate the de-stigmatizing of good mental health. And (as always,) nice build!
Cheers!
Love the detailing on the wheels, really helps give a sense of scale and heft to the peice.
suuuper cool! nice inspiration!
Great build mate!
That is killer! I think I have one of those kits as well. Gonna have to do something like this!
Man this is such a cool idea for video, thanks man👍
This is really awesome, Eric! I, for one, would love to see more Skaven content!
Your builds are inspiring, freakin awsom yo
More Skaven Yes-Yes! Awesome build!
the brazier you used for the monk's staff was part of the leader model of the old Isle of Blood box that introduced the new Skaven and High Elves back in 2010
Perfectly timed to push me over the edge when I see the new Skaven refresh for more TOW models.
Hell yeah man! That looks so sick
You can harden balsawood with varnish. Just thin it down and give it several going overs.
Love this Work😊
That looks epic yes yes! Definitely interested in seeing more Skaven on the channel.
Yeah i love it when you have to make a reason for when something doesnt go completely to plan so you dont get tempted to start over
Your best video ever! This was amazing.
This was an awesome project! I also love your passion. Good stuff, as always!
Fantastic build, the process is super enjoyable to watch, and yours looks just so much more "skaven-y" and wonky! Great details!
Amazing
This looks sick as hell! Yes yes!
I, for one, would love to see more videos about your Skaven army.
I’m a total sucker for the titan build, but ignoring that gorgeous Sisyphean task this project is one of my favourites you’ve done. Brilliant work, I love seeing Skaven!!
Best hobby channel yess yessss
I’m gonna be starting a Skaven force when 4e comes out since a buddy wants to start Stormcast. So we’re gonna split the starter box. Love this model and will most likely nab one to go with them.
This was so freaking cool. I am continuously amazed with your ability to built models and terrain out of seemingly random piles of stuff. Thanks for making some of the most epic this hobby has ever seen.
great video!
This is right up my street
