Welcoming Col. Jaime E. Ramirez for Promotion to Brigadier General

I had the opportunity to welcome Colonel Jaime E. Ramirez and his family to Harrisburg as the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee approved his promotion to Brigadier General in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
Currently, the 193rd Special Operation Maintenance Group Commander, Col. Ramirez has served in the military for more than three decades. He has been deployed to numerous contingencies and assigned to several squadron, group, and headquarters positions throughout the Regular Air Force and Air National Guard.
Col. Ramirez was selected from a field of 24 eligible candidates, as the best-qualified officer due to his vast experience in command and leadership.
He and his family reside in Upper Oxford Township in Chester County. I was thrilled to meet them, and I am proud to see his promotion advance.
Col. Ramirez is expected to be assigned to serve as Director of Joint Staff, Headquarters Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
We appreciate his service and that of all those serving in defense of our nation and the cause of freedom.
