Thanks for the excellent and informative review! Very keen to get this for my Zf and Z8. I didn't get this for my Sony A7R5 previously as I have the 16-35 but I don't have any ultrawide lenses for my Nikon currently.
Hello Robin. You were talking about emotion being present in all photographs on another video. I could not find it again. I said I would give you the title of the book that proves that thinking cannot be separated from emotion. here is the name of the book. How Emotions are Made. The secret life of the human brain. Author Lisa Feldman Barrett. London, Pan Books. 2018. A subject in the book is Emotion and Cognition.
Robin , nice photos , great review. Viltrox proof can build good quality lens with low price compare to 1st party lenses cost so much more , still waiting if this will come on my canon r8.
Robin! Those are some of my favourite photos I’ve ever seen from the channel. Wide angle magic. Testament to a great lens-and an even greater photographer!
Always good to see more competition. Just hope it makes the big players like Canon, Sony & Nikon maybe be more reasonable and lower prices without hurting Sigma or Tamron etc
Hi Robin, I liked your thoughts and experiences on this Viltrox lens. Good to hear that it's compatible with Nikon Z mount, as I shoot Nikon. I like that it has a Focus to infinity icon, and those night long exposure pictures had very nice colours. Like the sunglasses on the cat, real cool. Nice video, thanks Robin. 😊
Hi Robin: Enjoy your videos as always. But since I am using the Olympus system I am not rushing to by this Nikon lens soon like buying other Olympus lens after watching your videos. 😅
I am not asking people to buy Nikon or anything else. I am reviewing this lens, and if those who need it find the review useful, I have done something useful for the community. It is a new lens after all, for Nikon Z users.
Nice review. I have been looking at nikon for wildlife. OM has just become too overpriced in the long telephoto range for rebadged lenses. Native made lenses are great though. It would be cool if you ever got your hands on the nikon 160-600mm
Thanks for the review, looks like a stellar lens as it is on Sony FE mount. It's a pretty unique lens to have ultra wide angle of view, f 1.8 aperture and autofocus and weather sealing. An amazing option for Astrophotography on a decent budget.
@@Gregory_Laborde It would be a great lens for sweeping panoramas like the Milk Way in the summer, mountains and valleys under the stars or getting low angle of single trees with stars underneath or buildings like churches and farms or barns. There are 3 options for Micro Four Thirds, Laowa 6mm f 2 (manual focus only but wider and slightly darker), Olympus 8mm f 1.8 PRO Fisheye (AF and weather sealed, wider but needs De-Fisheye-ing) and Panasonic Leica 9mm f 1.7 (AF but not as wide and no weather sealing). Of all these 3 only Laowa is in a similar price bracket with this wonderful Viltrox.
The Panasonic 9mm is about the same price as the Viltrox, at least that's what we pay here. If only the Laowa 6mm has AF, it would definitely be awesome. However I rarely need to shoot anything thaaaaaaaat wide though!
Thank you, sir. I'm also Z5 user and your review is very helpful. Greetings from Poland! 😊
You sell the lens just with the photos. But you would take great pix with two plastic magnifying glasses scotch taped to a sensor.
Thanks, you are too kind, and welcome to the membership, Tim! Appreciate the support.

Thanks so much for joining the membership, and I am glad you found the review useful! You will love the lens for your Nikon Z system!

This is new level of 3rd party lenses..
Indeed it is! Glad Viltrox is willing to go the extra mile.
I am going to buy a Nikon! These colours are just the thing I like
Do you think this lens would be good for real estate photography, thanks in advance!
Marcelo from Brazil
Uncle, is it because you use DSLR that you have such biceps? What DSLR + lens should i use to get biceps too? XD
Jokes aside, nice vid!
Thank you for this review, Robin. Very helpful!

Thanks Christopher, appreciate the kind words. The lens is indeed quite impressive

Good review, very thorough. My next lens right here!
Thanks! You will love the lens

Yes, I believe the LCD display on the lens can be beneficial especially for those who use manual focus a lot!
That sounds good thanks Robin 😊
Thanks a lot Robin !!!
Always in awe of your photos Robin! The two guys in the Cafe in the first samples is my absolute favorite.
Thanks so much! Appreciate that

Yeap, it makes no sense for OM System to push into wildlife photography.
Great review Robin. This lens is a solid offering by Viltrox and the retail price of $549USD makes it very appealing!
Thanks! Indeed for USD549, it is very worth it
Thank you & lovely photo's as always :)
Thanks Lecky
That is a lot of glass! How bright is the lens?
That's F1.8. They really went all out designing this lens.
Looks like if has a bayonet for a hood; does it come with a hood?
Yes it does
Looking forward to Viltrox to start offering moderate Zoom lenses with large fixed apertures. At least a f4.0, if not f2.8

Astrophotography! I never thought of that. They need to make an equivalent for MFT!
I always think of astrophotography in terms of attaching a camera to a telescope. I forget about ultra wide field.

HI ROBIN WONG PLEASE DO A REVIEW IN SONY NEX-C3 PLEASE
Great review as other reviews of yours. Many thanks 🙏🏽
💯❤❤❤❤❤💯
Cheers Zoltan
So glad to see you using Nikon also, well done!
If you looked around, I use Pentax, Canon, Panasonic, Fuji, and anything and everything that I can get my hands on.
Great shots, Robin! I've recently added some ultra-wide lenses to my collection that are challenging me to look at the world quite differently!
Thanks. I agree, it isn't easy using ultra-wide as it fits a lot more within a frame, sometimes elements that we don't want to include.
when did you switch to Nikon z5, or to be precise, where is the video about Nikon z5.
I did not switch. Why did you assume I switched? Why must there be a video about Z5?
He really quit Micro Four Thirds...
Pro tip: you don't need to quit anything to try or use any other system.
Nonsense! You can use other systems like I use Niko and Fuji along with my main m4/3 system.
It's his channel; he can shoot whatever he wants. I'm here for Robin no matter what he's using, but clearly you're not. Feel free to leave
I just got my copy yesterday ... its got awesome image quality and is well built ... the price is right ...... I love it!
Great addition to Nikon Z mount! Thanks for sharing your experience 🙂
