    Ok I gotta do an update on this scooter cos I've had it a while now.
    If I had to put it in one word for this scooter and its usefulness I would have to say, awesome.
    It is super strong little bit of plastic damage to the front push bar but other than that it is really one of the best things I have ever bought, next to my motorcycle of course but then this is self powered.
    I sorted out the other bits mentioned before and this scooter has been just about excellent, I can't praise the machine any more than to say it is truly well worth every penny I spent on it, it has given me hours upon hours of reliable tough service and still going strong, I've used it for shopping trips, fun trips taken it around the country even in winter (be careful of wet floors though! but they warn you of that anyway,) fabulous product.
    And here's the thing my other half loves her scooter as well it gives us something to do that we both like doing, and it's great exercise exploring a city with the scooter you can have many good days out using it along with public transport.

    Thanks. Wasn't sure how to fold it down. Now I know! Very helpful.

    This is a nice scooter I have one but a few things bother me about it that I thought I would share here, 1/ the front wheel tends to sit a bit close to the splash guard on one side probably quality control issue, it's not just my one that it does it on, 2/ Though the bearings are abec 7 for some reason the scooter is slow compared to the razor A5 which only uses abec 5 bearings, it is also heavier than the razor A5 but is still a good scooter, 3/ the none slip surface I tend to find a hindrance rather than a help, for when you want to swap feet the none slip surface stops your feet from sliding across the board I know that is what it is supposed to do but when changing feet it helps sometimes to slid across the board with your foot.
    4/The hand brake though a good idea I find only useful for slowing down not much good for actually stopping fast, and the cable for the hand brake looks like it will tend to kink near the hole in the board as my one has already done.
    5/Don't quite know why the front wheel has the clear plastic disc on it what purpose it serves.
    6/The front spring tends to compress very easy under weight, probably would have been better off without it.
    Over all It's not a bad scooter well built except for quality control issues on the front wheel fork item mentioned.
    But fix these things and it's a pretty good scooter, I set about fixing my one with new bearings and drilling out the front fork and so on and it is much better now, still gotta get rid of that damned none slip surface though hopefully it will wear out quick so it looks as though that's how it supposed to be.

      Hi!
      A few things...? Those are a lot! ;-)
      Well, I am surprised that you have that amount of problems, because my Town 9 came perfectly assembled and adjusted, its Easyfold mechanism greased... I was sincerely surprised with its quality control.
      My Town 9's front suspension is stiff, and I've had no problem with splash guards, handbrake, speed or non-slip surface. My only complain would be about the fit between the handlebars and the steerer tube, which I solved with some tape between to reduce vibration.
      Town 9's handbrake is the second brake, to control speed, but not an emergency brake. Rear fender is the main brake, and "Jump!" is the emergency brake ;-)
      Town 7 XL Susp does have soft suspensions, but I have ridden different Town 9 scooters and all of their front suspensions were stiff, so... I think that if your Town 9's front suspension was too soft you should have asked Decathlon for its 2-year warranty. I am quite sure they would have replaced your scooter for a new one.
      Anyway, I really appreciate your comments and thanks for sharing your experiences.
      Regards from Barcelona!

      City Kick Scooter Well I'm just telling it like it is, I noticed in the shop that some of their scooters had the same problem with the splash guard being very close to the wheel almost touching, my one is not quite that bad but still not evenly distributed space between the wheel and the guard.
      The front spring like I said perhaps would have been better off without it or perhaps a locking mechanism or a stiffer spring.
      All that which I have said were I to take it back to the shop I would have simply exchanged one scooter with another with the same problems, so no point, I simply fixed the problems myself except the spring which I will live with for now, and it is a good scooter.
      And yes it did come all set up but that does not detract from the issues of quality control on the parts I mentioned.
      And what is it with that plastic disc on the front wheel what is it for?
      I bought two of these by the way and they both have similar issues.
      Good points are 1/ easy to fold but be careful of long coats as they can get in the way when folding, 2/large board so less likely to trip 3/ nice handle bars very comfortable 4/ well built except for that which I have mentioned.
      Oh It might go faster by swapping out the fat wheels for the thinner wheels.
      As a scooter for an adult it is a good scooter.
      As a scooter for a teenager I suspect they would get frustrated with it.
      Oh and I'm not knocking the scooter by the way just saying what I have found with it.
      Would I buy it again? Probably yes

      Plastic discs on both sides of the front wheel are just for safety, to prevent any object like a stick or a tree branch to interfere with the wheel spokes. Fat wheels provide better grip, especially when riding over wet surfaces, again safety. I agree with you this is a kick scooter designed for adults. I would like to know where (country/store) and when did you buy your two Town 9. Thanks again for your comments.

      @flitsies 10 років тому

      City Kick Scooter Thanks for the info, but it seems the disc is pointless, it's not likely a twig will flip someone but I can see what you were thinking though, safety which is reflected in the way the scooter is made.
      It is a very safe scooter to ride that is without a doubt, unless you go down hills fast then, well let's just say don't do it.

    One more update on this excellent scooter, lately I discovered a rubbing sound coming from the front of my scooter it's about 3 years old and it is used a lot done many miles including abroad, I did take on holiday after all, but the rubbing sound drove me mad, It wasn't a constant hard rubbing sound but a light shallow rubbing sound, so I changed the bearings adjusted the mudguard, made sure it was tight at the same time, just about checked everything before taking the front end apart.
    After taking the front end apart I discovered a spring this spring had bent over to one side, as I say I'm not surprised considering the amount of use it gets, so it's not a downer on this scooter.Well I doubt very much oxelo provide spare springs for the front end, so to solve the issue i put two m8 washers to sit behind the spring locked the front end back down and hey presto the rubbing sound has gone.I suspect what happened was this; the place I went to on holiday the paths were not very smooth so the front end took a battering, I also carried a lot of weight on the scooter all adding to the extreme pressure on the front end which put the spring out of balance or in other words bent it, plus the fact that it has done a lot of miles all puts extreme pressure on the front end.The washers simply took up some of the room from where the spring had been bent.So if by chance your front end on your oxelo starts to rub it might be an idea to check the spring, it's not a difficult scooter to pull apart but just be aware you can't get the whole front section apart unless you are going to change out the stearing bearings as well in which case the top or bottom bearing shells will need to come out to pull to column out.

      City Kick Scooter I bought a town 7 EF just today :) at first I was thinking about a town 7 XL but after trying it I found the springs excessively soft, but the town 9 was out of my price range. Your review was definitely helpful :)
      Do you happen to know if it is possible to install the rear dampeners of the town 9 on the town 7?

    • @citykickscooter
      @citykickscooter  10 років тому

      Congrats for your new scooter!
      Town 7 EF and Town 9's frames are the same, both have two holes for the rear dampers. However, I don't know if both rear axis are the same... I would ask Decathlon whether they sell those dampers as spare parts.

    There is one down side to them unfortunately and that is air lines won't allow you to take them as hand luggage, shame cos they would seriously enhance your stay.

    Hello, thanks for your reviews. I was wondering, does the suspension reduce the efficiency of the kicks, thus the speed of the unit? Thanks.

    • @citykickscooter
      @citykickscooter  8 років тому +1

      Hi Fabio! Absolutely not. It has a stiff and short travel front suspension, so don't worry about that

      Hi, that was mentioned in the comments of our other video on the Town 9. The Oxelo Klick will be launched this summer, one year later than the initial release date. Please check out our review on Europe's electric scooters for more information: www.letskickscoot.com/home/articles/Battery_Assisted_Scooters.cfm

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 9 років тому

      +CityKickScooter I don't think I mentioned this on here but there is a problem with the Oxelo klick for the UK the problem is the law.Unfortunately even though it would be a product worth giving a try you could find yourself in deep trouble to the extent of losing your licence if you use one on the road and the dpt trans won't allow them on the pavement.Basically the law says they are considered to be mopeds so they must be registered as such and have a number plate.I have an electric scooter as well as my kick scooter and I had to register it as a moped it's not very big and it's not very fast in fact cars hoot me to get out the way in a 20 zone but as I'm not allowed to use it in bus lanes or cycle lanes like a bicycle I just give them the finger and carry on blocking up the road, that's the law.If the vehicle has two wheels or more and uses electricity other than mobility scooters they must be registered as mopeds in order to be legal, any use other than this and you could find yourself in big trouble.UK only as far as I'm aware though Germany they allow them to use bike lanes though I could be wrong about Germany.
