- We always use Photoshop for site plans but what about other programmes can we still create high quality, yes we can, is the answer. I have here a in depth tutorial on how yo use Illustrator to create high quality, professional and beautiful site plans. It is much easier than Photoshop and you don't loose quality. Make sure you download the template so you can try to recreate the render!

7:49 I find that using the Blend tool works pretty well. Create two black versions of the building, move one away to the shadow range while keeping one at the original place, then Object->Blend->Make. Anyway, thank you for the tutorial!
great tutorial! instead of creating your own shadow you can use "drop shadow". effect>stylize>drop shadow, it's much easier :)
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing my video! I need to go make a master plan now to use your tutorial :P I loved it, well done

Hi I have a question, I created a site plan in Autocad which I saved as a PDF and then opened in Illustrator. The problem I have is that I can't click and fill objects like you do in the video. When I try to select a building it just won't work... could you maybe explain further on how you get started once you open your PDF in Illustrator? do you add lines around your buildings in Illustrator? Thank you
Hi, you need to embed the drawing and explode it before you can do that. Does that make sense?
Do you have a video on how to make the background image? The black and white one yoi have prior to filling it in
Hi, the folder is empty :(
Hi can you share the file again bro?
the link is empty 😭
Hello, how can I put the template with the colors on the same page as my work?
You can import the template or also take a screenshot and use the colour picking too on illustrator to then copy the colours.
Hey, why i use the live paint tool its not letting me colour in the roads on my masterplan, only the spaces formed by them, any fix to this
Hey, do you have the color palette for the green used for the coloring of the landscape?
You can just screenshot my colours and paste it in your document and use the colour selection tool,
How do you convert your autocad file into illustartor? My image keeos going blurry
Hello, the best thing to do is to export the DWG to PDF, this will allow you to have scale to the drawings and also will not be blurry at all. Let me know if this helps?
@@TheArchitecturalInsider thank you so much, I’ll give this a go now!
@@cemregurkan9649 No worries your welcome!

Hi!
When I save the file as PDF the textures just disappear and are not shown for some reason... do you maybe have a solution to this? I managed to save it with the textures included by changing the compatibility in the PDF saving menu to Acrobate 4 (PDF 1.3). The only issue is, that the file is around 350mb after saving. When i try to downsize it, the textures disappear again.
I created the swatches by converting a jpeg to grayscale and assigning a new color to them. Afterwards i used the live paint bucket tool to fill in the surfaces.
Thank you!
great video and tutorial by the way!
Hi nice video! Did you imported the dwg file or pdf? Thank you!
You can do either but i like to do it as pdf.
i didnt found plan to work on it
I've just found a technique for buildings shadows, fine, fine 😂😂😂
