I loved this so much and I am excited to share this video. In the current sea of anger, it is a comfort to disconnect from the binary conversation and rest in the beauty of Catholic social teaching.

We are the “exhausted majority”. Over 40% of us are not in the right and the left and that seems to eclipse the essence of what is dividing and conversely could help unit us, or just activate the majority of us who don’t want to be polarized and used any more. This video with the author of Resisting Throw Away Culture talks about human dignity and what is the value of life. Turns out a shocking 40% of all deaths from covid where in nursing and care facilities for the elderly. We as a people need to think through what makes a human valuable. If we define human worth by usefulness and convenience than we have secular values throwaway, death culture. Deep inside our souls we want a culture of life (as inconvenient as it might be). Let’s reshape our lives, families and communities around the dignity of life...proof of concept!

So good! The question I always ask is “What would Jesus do?” But you first need to understand what he WOULD do. This summit answers those questions.

So what you’re saying is the poor should be elevated. Which I agree. However, this also means we separate humans by economic status. How do we create healthy holy devotional communities if we are scattered around non believers. So the gospels are secondary to feeding and giving medical help to refugees and immigrants?

No, neither of us mentions socialism in this interview. Catholic Social Teaching is much richer than the world's ideological categories.

Hello, the Church is not in the business of advocating for any particular economic system. What we do need to do is spread the joy of the Gospel and love for our neighbor.
