Trower never has gotten the credit he deserves as a guitar God.
You are right. He never got full credit. Some wrote him off as a Hendrix impersonator. Although Hendrix is an influence robin definitely has his own still especially in songs like bridge of sighs, day of the eagle etc etc. Trower was popular up until the late 70's early 80's he was able to fill stadiums like Oakland Coliseum and so on in the mid to later 70's I have a show from 1978 there and it's great. I saw him in 2018 believe it or not in Milwaukee. He still played great with energy and power.
That's true, another phenomenal great
It's only because he used that Hendrix tone people thought he was just a copycat
Next to hendrix, RT is one of the greatest guitarists who ever walked the earth
On the day that Robin Trower was born, God ran out of vocal cords, so he inserted a Stratocaster instead.
Man Robin plays so effortlessly. He barely moves his hands, yet all these notes come flying out at ya. Truly one of the best guitarists of all time.
met Robin Trower in 1975, Indianapolis. kind, open man to talk. elder fans Know. we all miss Jim Dewar. with No More World's album found a good one! "fire to ashes". listen yourself!! imagine Jim doing this cut? I can. 50 year fan.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..GREAT!!!!
I just cant see how James plays the bass and sings flawless....Bass is hard enough alone..
Hendrix and trower had very different characters. I don't think this band plays to see us impressed but they just play and show their feelings in a song and it's so on fire. And bands like this are almost gone in the world, some bands only care about fame and impress people but their musicality is so small. I was just a child born in the 2000s but I really like old things and one of them them! We miss you
Bands like this are by no means gone in the world today; you just have to take the corporate spoon out of your mouth and go find them.
They're literally everywhere, but get no love from the business at all.
@@dsnodgrass4843You don't understand a word I'm saying lol
Robin Trower is the most underrated guitar player in Rock and Roll!!!!!
You know. I am 63 years old, and have seen hundreds of rock drummers over the years, I always thought that Bill Lordon was one of the most underated drummers of all time.
used to be sly stones guy!.....one of the best!
Tall Dude
I`m 65 Jan next year, what days we lived in when we were young (er)!! Bill, Robin and James were the best trio of all time, just listen to what they did to Stockholm in 75!!
@@Stevek552 Couldn't agree more, discovered Trower back in high school circa 1976 and finally saw him live in 1986 at a club in Toronto but wish I could have seen him during his prime in 75. The live album released in 76 but recorded back in early 75 was my first Trower lp and right up there with Johnny Winter, Jim McCarty, Nugent as one of my absolute fav guitar gods
I totally agree with you sir!! As Robin Trower is the most underrated guitar player in Rock and Roll!!!!!
This song has the BEST Drum break ever. TASTY!
Trower was a great guitarist and so humble. When he started he was just a skinny kid having fun and I think he didn't change! Gotta love this one! K
King of the stank face. Absolutely one of my all time favs.
Robin really had his facial expressions down! I really like this song - especially live.
Robin was playing his fingers off and loving it! K
Grew up with this bloke's music in my head. Fifty years later it's still as good as ever
Incredible amount of talent in those 3 guys!
Lordan was the best drummer he had to me. Love his flair. Did it help fill in a 3 piece band big time!
An incredible trio. Mr. Trower has always been a class act.
Saw him twice in 1975 Norfolk Va Scope. Close up and personal. I couldn't hear for 3 days!
By far the most underrated guitar player ever, I remember listening to this when FM was in it's infancy 🤘
Love this group so much....even after all these years !!!!
I. Was. There!!!
Great song. The live versions really do the song justice. I actually saw Robin trower a couple times that i got the chance too. If fact i saw him in 2018 in Milwaukee and he still sounds great. He still played with great energy and emotion. Of course James dewar was no long with the band since he passed away in 2002. Bill Lordan was also not in the band anymore. I would've loved to have seen dewar but the singer in his current band was still pretty competent not dewar but still good. If he happens to still be touring and comes to a city near you see him while you have a chance he is 75 and who knows how long he will be touring. He still continues to put out new albums so that is a good sign.
Hey Jared saw this RT lineup in Milwaukee at the old Arena in 75 ish. Van Halen opened just before their debut album dropped. Insane guitar heavy night
Masterpiece since 1980 I had the album
God bless james
Ohhh what a complete vid

Awesome job guys!!!
+Shellie Werner seriously
the dude got some bad skills heavy sound he's up on his game. he can jam. sound is tight. he is the king. he got some moves.
Procol harum reunion 2006 in Denmark. Listen to trowers solo in Conquistador!! Tasssty ;) comments all about Brooker. Deserved. But noone realizes Robin rejoined! :)
Robin was lucky to play with three grat drummers Bill Lordon , Reg Isidore and Bj Wilson
Maybe they considered themselves to be lucky to play with him.
AGREE! ) I am huge fan of Bill,B.J. and Cozy Powell.
I think that BJ was way up there. Too bad that he didn't get to work with Robin longer
drewster pevovar no body remembers drummers just guitarists and vocalists
@@wolfowned Spot on my man.. while the world was paying attention to the psychedelia of Hendrix, Robin Trower and the band were overlooked.. To anyone that doubts.. listen to the Robin Trower Live album from Stockholm in 1975.. Trower / Lordan / Dewar...
I love trower and James but that drummer kicked ass
It is best with a buzz
Who decided to film this concert in black and white ?
It was probably cheaper to get the film.
Awesome drum solo also! Who's on drums?
Bill Lordan
Double Damm
Robin gets the proper respect.
But only from some amazing guitarists,
whom I know like:
Zack Wilde, Ty Tabor, Joe Barker,
Kenny Dubman,
and the late great
Bernie Brausewhetter
✌️😊❤️🎗️🇺🇸🌟🌒
Dewars made playing and singing seem like its nothing......fucking guy sang and played some complex shit, man.
He is so chill - amazing musician.
Sounded much better on Trowers Live Album, than this version,a thumbs down, the guitar sounds totally different Than Alethea off live Album which was butt kicking!!..even better in Waterbury CT when I saw them at the Vaunted "Palace Theatre"
Good weed.
some say Trower is a hendrix imitator. bullshit!!! Trower smokes hendrix.
i wouldn't go that far ............ but Robin Trower is no imitator. He's the genuine article.
Be real man, two totally different styles...and nobody smokes Jimmi dude.im sure Robin would say the same.
I've been on a Trower listening marathon , rediscovering one gem after another . Thanks guys , what an aural extravaganza !
