- The Easybeats were an Australian rock band that formed in Sydney, Australia, in late 1964, and disbanded at the end of 1969. They were the first rock and roll act from Australia to score an international pop hit with the 1966 single "Friday on My Mind".
All five founding members were from families that had migrated to Australia from Europe: lead singer Stevie Wright and drummer Gordon "Snowy" Fleet were from England; rhythm guitarist George Young was from Scotland; lead guitarist Harry Vanda and bassist Dick Diamonde were from the Netherlands.
Stevie Wright always looks so happy!
Nyilas jegyben szúletett, nagy szíve volt és hihetetlen temperamentum, vidámság,életszeretet áradt felöle!👍🙏Csak szeretni lehet!❤
He still is happy 😊😊😊🇩🇪
S.W. What an artist - super singer and performer. Plus Young and Wanda.
🤩🤩👌
Underrated song,in my opinion.
I know other Easybeats songs are more popular, but this is my personal favorite. Great song from an incredible band. Just-ordinary music becomes dated, but Easybeats songs have stood the test of time. Love the Easybeats.
you are right thi sis an amazing song.
One of the ten best songs of the 60s, imo
Yes the best!
Love this overlooked Classic.
Stellar piano from George Young! Great track all around.
The Easybeats - YES! One of the greatest 60's - 70's bands of all time!
For decades the Dutch fashion company Peek & Cloppenburg used this in their commercials. Always brought a smile to my face when it came on.
Geht mir auch so allerdings heute zum erstenmal😂
Stevie wright's amazing 👏 🙏 rip
The Easybeats were the earliest incarnation of AC/DC.
A terrific band who had great musicians !!!
I was around in the 60s and apart from Friday on my mind they didn't get much publicity...in the UK..
I've just discovered how good they were...and how brilliant Stevie was...we missed all their stuff really because we were being force fed Beatles and stones..
I believe this reached 20 in the UK, and st louis was a hit in the US.
Agree like the kinks great from day one continuous fabulous talent stage presence giving their songs still sound the best .
I agree with you that the beatles really thought that they were all great and powerful and that they were greatest band of all time. But there was a lot more songwriter and and performer s out there that just didn't get the station because everyone was falling at their feet like they were God s or something.😢😢😢😢😢. They should have had to work for all they got. So sad nobody else was looked at. They had their cash cow's and milked them hard.. 😢😢😢😢😮😮😮😢😢
I have to agree. They were making way to much of the Beatles, and wasn't given any thought to other groups that were just as good. The Easybeats needed to be released in other countries to get their music out there so that they were Heard internationally and recognized every where. It should not have made no difference that they were from Australia.
Great music is great music
Yes they did they were on bandstand a lot
A shame that the Easybeats are unknown to 98% of the music listening public
Sorry
really is, they’re nothing but barley one hit wonders in the US and not much better in the UK. they deserve to be recognized
thats ok , we are part of the 2% ..
We know their legend easyfever status here in Aus all cool
@@BeatlesBootlegs9 They are not one hit wonders but were managed terribly. The had just as much musical talent as the beatles, but didn't get a break.
I was Privileged to see The Easybeats in 1967 when the Band came to Dubbo Australia 🇦🇺
Great Music ❤
Excellent song. Sweet psychedelic and comforting.❤❤❤
One of my favorite records of the Era. Brilliant song Patrick
I adore him the song is beautiful
thank god for Beat -club all we had in the uk was TOTPs once RSG went
Beat-Club seems to have kept a lot of their recordings too! Not trying to "save tape" like the BBC.
The best!!
I haven't thought of this since 1968, yet hearing it today I recall it in detail. Wonderful.
dear sweet young bros how lucky we are
Hard to believe......they couldn’t stand this song! I love it!
Remember above all they were a rock band
@@sandygravel39 and George Young up with the best
@@sandygravel39 I wish Stevie and Suzi Q could have rocked out together Suzi did a version of evie
It's over now Snowy lives in Perth Aus Harry lives in Sydney I think and Dick was the quiet easybeat he lives up the coast somewhere we should honour them we should always remember , while it would have been exciting for a young band it was also hard they left family behind they left thousands of adoring fans to break a hard market on a small budget Rock On
That voice....like butter melting on hot toast , wonderful
Technically, this is a masterpiece. The tune is exquisite and the vocals perfect. Good work Aussies!
Technically its not they were on their way out
they came back to Australia in 1969 with tail between their legs George Martin fired them they blamed it on to much Alcohol and drug use
@@peterm1826
If they had been able to come to the USA instead of the UK and had some decent Management they would have been given the same treatment that the Beatles got.
We would have put them on all our music shows,
and the Late night talk shows like Jonny Carson. It was the UK that was responsible for the way they turned out.
The Idiot that told them that their music was to soft should have been Fired. It was the UK that introduce them to Drugs in the first place! The people who were responsible for that should have been Arested for giving Drug's to Minors. Some of the Easybeats was only in their Teens
The Music industry was very crooked. They were making every body pay for everything that they did for the difference bands. If they didn't make it they had to pay for everything that was done for them.
And george Martin was not the brilliant man every body makes him out to be.
He spent to much money and time on a group that took music from other people in the USA reworked it put a English accent to it and gave it back to us.
And every body made a mistake for not suing them for copy rights and theft
First time I've heard this. Good song.
So good to hear this again, what a vocal range!
Stevie Wright Great voice ! Rip
eva giagnorio yes i think
Gives me goose bumps.
My favorite of all their songs
@absolutely brilliant track wat a band proud to have lived through it x
One of my favourite records stevie dies it perfect. Patrick
1:45 I like this part of the song best. All in all an absolutely underrated song. The best of the Easybeats. Musically a delight.
even them think this is shit... Harry Vanda said "we were more rolling stones, pretty things.... and then we came with "hello how are you"... obviously wasn't their election of song
Always loved this one. ❤️
" stevie wright a genius 👏 👌 !"
So sad ending ! God Rest u Stevie!
This true 60's diamond reached #34 in Australia and #20 in the UK and was ignored in the rest of the world.
Their first hit, Friday on my mind, a song that hasn't aged at all after more than 50 years, reached #1 only in Australia. The rest of the world said Meh.
What was WRONG with the pop loving and record buying youth?!
If they had not been from down under but England, they would have charted top. The world was much bigger in the 60s... no internet.
@@JohnBlahuta-bb2iy
Yep. But in regard to big top ten material, they had the Beegees for competition. The Gibbs were more commercial, and had the best voices.
Brilliant wow !
The neon lights shine on the cars
And people rushing by
Through the fog in the chill of the night
And the rain comes pouring down
And suddenly I see her face
Coming through the crowd
Hello, how are you
It's good to see you here
Though you're late
I just wait like before
Hello, how are you
And ah, you're looking grand
With the way-ay you'll look evermore
The water-filled hole in my shoe
And the lonesome dollar in my hand
If I'd to stand here forever I'd stand
And the rain comes pouring down
Hello, how are you
It's good to see you here
Though you're late
I just wait like before
(Do you come in love or hate)
Hello, how are you
And ah, you're looking grand
(Ohohohohohoh)
With the way that you'll look evermore
(Do you, do you)
Hello, how are you
It's good to see you here
(Ohohohohohoh)
Though you're late
I just wait like before
I was 15 I as in love for Stevie Wright...
This was the first ever single I bought. Memories?
Far out man. From the old Aussie. Tops.

Great song ! Great group !
Great song!!!!
awesome and beautiful
this is poetry at work : The water-filled hole in my shoe
And the lonesome dollar in my hand
If I'd to stand here forever I'd stand
And the rain comes pouring down
Stevie Rest In Peace you had a great singer
IT'S A VERY WONDERFULL BAND!!!!......
I LOVE .
Awesome!
I fell in love with this song on a contemporary 13/6 covers album from one of the budget labels at the time, but I never knew who did the original until today, despite having been an Easybeats fan as a young child. The cover was very good, but WOW!
Z interpretace této písně tryská čirá radost ze zpěvu... Diky Stevie!
1966 I was in 1rst. Year Elementary school..Arica Chile...fall in love with Gabriela Diaz
super song
Beautiful music! Incredible group.
One of Young brothers playing piano beautifully. This range I did not know.
George.
Great tune!
Australia, best band of the 60s.. next to the Aztecs..
You can see the ravages of lifestyle on Stevie's beautiful face. So sad 😢
❤
In My Book........talk about sentimental n lovely!
Another I love n can’t find a lot of info about is Woman You’re On My Mind. What a great rocking song. I’m so grateful to all the people who post these videos. I’d have never heard any of these songs without UA-cam.
If it's an Easybeats song you are after, it could be "Girl on my Mind" from their 1st album "Easy". If not, it's still worth a listen.
@@wellsy1954 Honestly most if not all of their songs are masterpieces.
@@yowodup6094 The best band to ever come out of Australia, and they all had to come from the other side of the world to find each other.
@@wellsy1954 Australia is where it's at, their music is very sophisticated, I would put their brilliance up there with the Beatles.
@@wellsy1954 Woman You're on My Mind was a track on their final album, Friends. Rock and Roll Boogie is another killer track from that album.
Cool, this in in my hometown Bremen, Germany
Preciosa cancion lirica beat de The Easybeats

Végtelenúl sajnálom, hogy nem ismerhettem ezt a csodálatos szívü Fiút!🙏🤗⚘

Beautiful.
!!!👍👍👍💪💪💪😇
Lovely 🤩
Wonderful!🤗
Beautiful Ballad
Chris Norman(ex Smokie) did a great cover of this song on his last fantastic album so here I am
je les adorais ...je les adore...
Love it .
I love Little Great Steve
Brilliant!!!💋
Well, Hot damn, look at what older brother George Young is wearing
Tony Cahill
감사합니다 스티브
Loved it!!
So sick of always being told about what great song writers young and Vanda was. If it wasn't for Stevie Wright being the first person to write anything with George there would be no Vanda and young or AC DC. Or any body else. So please Thank Stevie for giving vanda the chance to get the opportunity to write anything.
Please remember that Stevie Stepped aside for that to happen.
Stevie you are not forgotten about!!!
And that you are missed and loved.
Rest in Peace
And the fact is if they had not had Stevie wright as the group's lead singer and front man there would only be 3 guitar player's and a drummer. Just like the other bands.
And no great music.
Like the songs Sorry, and Wedding Ring and the other songs that where Co writing together with George young.
Next to happy and sorry it's one of their best
Jammie ....
Scottish leeds Dutch. Good combo rip stevie Patrick
Why don't they ever talk about how talented Snowy fleet or Tony was in the group also. They are almost forgotten about😢😢. What was Dick Diamond playing in the band. Did he write anything or sing any of the songs that where released by the band.
me too
Moje zlato 💌💋💌
Also recorded by the UK showband, Beano...
Does anyone here know the other version of someone else singing this song?
The Easybeats rerecorded another version slightly different than this
Where can I find it on you tube channel❤❤❤
I love this song.
And Stevie wright singing it❤❤❤❤
Tony Cahill (with a "Jesus Saves" T-shirt) is here on drums--George Young on piano, instead of guitar.
keith moon had same t-shirt, think it's not coincidence
George Young (RIP) brother of Malcolm (RIP) and Angus Young of AC/DC
stevie went injun . love yer man xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Kim Wilde Merry Christmas 🎅
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
C&A 👍
This was and still is a great song but for frigin sake Dick Diamonde with the faces he is making looks like he hates being there and would rather be somewhere else (for those who don't know he was the base player).
He always looks like this , i don't know anything about him but it's noticeable in every video
@@YouLookLoneIy he was brought up in a religious family
@@mstwilight1612what does this information has to do with that?
What's in the water in Australia? Lead singer has BG's teeth!
He emigrated to Australia when he was 16. They're English teeth.
