That was a nice show of albums there! And I am completely with you on Strange Highways and Angry Machines! I like to think they are powered by all of the post-Dehumanizer angst and anger!

Easy Tiger, Goldy is fantastic. He CAN shred, but his work on Magica and Master of the Moon is very intricate and technical. I think you're being a little harsh on Simon Wright too. I get it, he's no Vinny (nobody is), but come on, he's a solid drummer.
I own all of these on cd. I have always thought Angry Machines was the worst Dio album but I will give it another shot after this. Killing the Dragon is okay, Magica is meh, Master of the Moon is a small step up, though I am curious aboot the vinyl version now. For me, Lock Up the Wolves was the last great DIO LP.
For me the First 4 are his best...then probably Strange Highways and Angry Machines...Angry Machines is an uneven album...some cool stuff some not so cool.
Problem with fans is they want the sound of the fist albums and that ain't happening...they need to forget about that and listen carefully the other stuff...master of the moon is my fave....
I totally agree that the compression of data for cd has ruined music. NO FIDELITY!! F@CK!! I want to hear cymbal splash, guitar distortion and detail. If I want it loud I will turn it up!! I could talk all day about why vinyl sounds great and why modern vinyl is often trash. Regards the slow drumming I always thought that Vinny learned that from Carmine and his work with vanilla Fudge. He was proto doom on "hanging on the telephone". Top f@cking review. I purchased Master of the moon (I really like MOTM) vinyl on your word. I look forward to more content on your chanel.
Thanks so much Mark...and yeah, modern digital compression has ruined way to many albums for me. A lot of modern vinyl reissues aren't very good either but these Dio ones are solid.
Lair of the Alchemist in Australia vinyl copies of Dio releases are not very common so it’s good to get a mint record as long as the master is good. I understand the original producer did the remaster. Fingers crossed!!

Dude you are dead on here. I want to buy these reissues badly, but am gun shy to say the least. I have the recent rocktober reissues on vinyl and they sound like ass. Loud,poppy etc.. I have the original Japan presses and the original US presses and they blow the reissues out of the water. How do these 4 with the lenticular cover sound? The packaging looks good. Thanks for the video. Joe
They sound great! I was nervous because like you mentioned I've gotten some bad/noisy pressings of modern reissues. These are flat, quiet and punchy. I was glad I got them.

And like you I happen to love angry machines also.might be appice’s fines hour behind the kit on that record. Thanks again!!
@@IREMEMBERNOW Cool..let me know what you think when you get them. I do have a soft spot for Strange Highways and Angry Machines..there different albums for Dio but I like them, super heavy and dark sounding.
Lair of the Alchemist hey! So I received the 4 reissues. I love the packaging, very well done.. I spun angry machines so far and your right, sounds fantastic. Thank god! Lol. Very pleased. I am trying to grab an original press of strange highways on vinyl but there so expensive. Anyway, thanks for the review of these! 🤟joe
