@@kingmoz No I meant honesty as in an honest opinion, not some commercial or state propaganda. Anyone who is touting ‘the truth’ these days is probably full of bs. I prefer to stay loosely informed and still mentally sharp, not indoctrinated by ‘the truth’.
The first step is to get a decent amount of information on a subject, and then form your own opinion. There's nothing wrong with getting someone else's opinion, but the problem is, people want to listen to opinions first before they have all the facts. And when someone they admire gives an opinion, they adopt said opinion as their own without looking any further into it. We might say an issue is being framed in a misleading way, or we disagree with the editorial bias embedded in the reporting. But if something is happening in the world, we should at least be able to agree that it happened. You might say it's a bad thing that happened, and I might say it's good, but at least we both agree that it's real. Comics are prone to saying whatever will garner more positive attention. If a fake opinion gets more laughs than a real opinion, they'll go with the fake opinion. Moreover, it seems like the right-wing comics are dominating online discourse, and even the ones who claim to be lefties (Dore, Rogan, Russell Brand) bend over backwards to pander to the right. Then you have the cringe libs like Colbert etc which are heavily filtered and whitewashed. So you're not getting a balanced picture at all if you're mainly looking at comedians.
So everyone is focusing on the one racist white guy and not the 47% of blacks that said it is not ok to be white? I could not care less about this comic strip guy. I am more concerned with the possibility that the black community has racism in their hearts.

Sure, there were some disrespectful people during the Obama years, but that wasn't the majority. Now isn't the time to set the fires - not AFTER they got nice!!! lol.. I get why "white" people are getting kinda pissed like, "you know how hard it was for us to get to this place of being nice and NOW you want to come at us?? what gives??".. All I'll say is that if that's the way you feel, just recognize how long "black" people have been down and wanting to say something, but couldn't.. just try to keep that olive branch extended, if you could please.. this is the part where both sides need just a little extra effort.. ALL people are (slowly) coming around to the truth that we're a big family.. and America is nothing without a little spice and seasoning.. we're gonna be an exquisite dish soon.. we just gotta hang in there a little bit longer..

Honestly, we all need to learn how to be at least a little bit wrong. I feel that "black" people had the opportunity to burn the US to the ground and revolt and all sorts of stuff back when it was really bad. That didn't happen. We love it here. All we wanted was love in return. And we all gotta admit, it took a WHILE.. But now that "black" people have a stronger voice in this country, it actually coincides with "white" people being MUCH nicer and probably wanting to move forward and inch toward that love that we ALL want.
