This song just made me think something, what about a revolution album? There are so many revolutions that litteraly changed the face of the world, there's so much to work with.

No outside force has conquered the region now known as Scotland since the Picts arrived nearly 3000 years ago. Not even Rome. I suppose one could argue that Scotland wasn't technically unified for much of that, but it's still a credit to the people of Scotland that they resisted any sort of outside rule for millennia, and both ways can still be argued. Besides, the Republic of San Marino was officially founded in 1301, centuries after Alba unified much of northern Great Britain.

After Bruce demanded that all those loyal to the ousted Scottish king John Balliol acknowledge Bruce as king or lose their land during the Scottish wars of independence, Edward II invaded Scotland with a massive force only to be driven back after two days of battle at Bannockburn by a smaller 6,000 man scottish force.

I just realized something. Scotland is to the English what Chechnya is to the Russians. For centuries, both have been trying to gain independence from their much larger and more powerful overlord, and have succeeded on numerous occasions, but no matter what, they always get taken over again, but always at great cost to their conqueror, but it's worth it to the larger power because you cannot find better soldiers in the country than a Chechen or a Scot

1:26 Love the reference to Scottish Pikemen. Unlike certain ahistorical movies where they show Scots as primitive tribesmen wearing kilts and fur, real medieval Scotsmen were some of the most advanced infantry in the age. In the battle of Bannockburn, William Wallace introduced a pike formation called the Schiltrin, consisting of a series of hedgehog squares to repel English horsemen. This was used well into the Napoleonic wars.
Last time I checked Wallace was dead by then.
Roel Konijnendijk, an ancient warfare expert was rating a scene of Braveheart for a UA-cam channel called Insider and he sounded offended on behalf of the Scotsmen. it was an interesting and funny video. He was always complaining about how movies were not realistic because they did not have ditches in defensive fortification.
