The worst part of being exposed to sex too early is that it either makes you promiscuous or shutdown. Either way, you are forever changed and it kills the person you could’ve been. It’s a crime that so many families just ignored sexual abuse in the home or relative homes and expect girls to just get over it or worse, blamed them for it. When you know a crime has been committed against you and no one gets punished, it ruins your self esteem.

Tammi and Marvin was a match made in heaven. They are together again in heaven. I'll never forget the day she died the world lost a beautiful and talented gifted young lady she was Marvin's world.
@jaquaveonandress649 I don't know. What I do know is that Marvin's lifestyle did not portray him as a born-again Christian. He was heavily into drugs, and he beat up his father, and his father shot him in self-defense. In terms of Tammy, I was too young and don't remember her. Hopefully, she repented before her death.

After her death ,Marvin Gaye did not record any music for five years. I read accounts that James Brown and David Ruffin were abusive to her. Tammi and Marvin will always be the greatest duet of all time. I have been listening to Motown music coming out of the womb! 😊. I was a child at the time and was and is always happy to hear the music of Motown. My sister gifted me a 4 CD set called Hitsville USA ,Christmas 2003. One of the best gifts she's ever given me!😆😆😆😆
Marvin gay went into a state of depression because the whole motown sat around and watched her get beat up by 2 men! And her mom gave her to Barry Gordy and said PLEASE TAKE CARE OF MY BABY, SHE ALREADY BEEN THROUGH TRAUMA. THEY PROMISED HER MOTHER THAT THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THAT MINOR CHILD. THEN THEY SENT HER HOME IN A BODY BAG!!!!!!!

James Brown and David Ruffin Didn't Deserve her. I Hear She was just as Beautiful on the Inside as She was on the Outside. May God Rest Her Soul and Give Her Eternal Peace. Rest On Ms. Tammy.
There was actually another man, an executive/song writer for Motown that she was allegedly dating after David & he was just as abusive as the rest. It was said that one night they had a disagreement at a show, & he beat her something wicked in a dressing room & proceeded to throw a chair at her in the heat of the moment, that chair was metal & it ended up hitting her in the head. That was the beginning of the end of Tammi, because the executive was a married man very lil is said about him other than he worked very closely with Gordy!
Very beautiful and talented. I was 10 years old when she died. I cried because I loved her music and her duet with Marvin Gaye. They are singing in Heaven.
Tammi was such a beautiful woman who had to grow up very fast and it was so unfortunate that she had to endure so much so young ❤😢😢😢 Rest in peace to such a talented soul🎼

I heard this story about Tammi Terrell. She was beautiful . The industry dogged her out. She was young and naive. Her father did not protect her ….and shame on James Brown for abusing her the way he did. There is no truth she was promiscuous after being raped.
I love the part at 11:21 where she reaches and grabs his hand. You can see the connection between them that you only have from a soul mate that isn't always necessarily a romantic one. From what my father told me Marvin was a choir boy prior to her passing. It changed him and put his personal life in a downward spiral. He was never the same. I hope they're together now.
I think they were platonic friends and not sexually attracted to each other for whatever reasons Marvin was weird and effeminate and Tammi liked rough very masculine men
I think there is a correlation between being beaten, especially on your head, that can cause brain tumors. My grandmother died of a benign brain tumor the day before her 49th birthday. She was abused most of her life with my grandfather beating her horribly. She had headaches, too, and fainting spells. Had the quack she was seeing diagnosed her properly, she'd likely be alive today.
James Brown saw his mother being tragically abused by his father, according to the movie on his life. The mother walked down a long dirt road as she was forced to leave young James behind ( with nothing but a raggedy suitcase of clothing), after suffering years of abuse. Young James was calling out to his mother, but she was told she had better not even look back... according to the movie. Of course this is no excuse for his constant physical abuse of women.
Unless there is psychological intervention, men that grew up in homes of domestic violence , usually grow up to be abusive. It's perpetual for generations.
Whoever is doing these videos is great! Such a different view and respect given to the lives of these people even in the negativity. Hearing about her having headaches most of her life, it's a shame she got so used to them that she never went to get a full diagnosis. The tumor had probably grown since childhood. And her going from guy to guy is a symptom of her abuse and then being in that industry. She did a lot in her short years, except sadly never got herself healed physically or emotionally until it all crashed before the age of 25.😔
It's now known that domestic violence can cause traumatic brain injuries or TBI because of repeated physical beatings, mostly in the head. Tammi's story fits the profile of someone with TBI, which causes a devastating chain reaction of other health issues. TBI is not just athletes or accident victims, but anyone who suffered severe and/or numerous blows to the head is vulnerable.
It's extremely distasteful to hear stories about how these women back in the day was treated. Whatever the psychology behind her choosing to be promiscuous, doesn't readily make her a punching bag or some kind of door mat to walk on. It's interesting to hear folk come up with reasoning for others behavior, yet you will *never hear *most come up with *good solutions that will aid with that which they're *actually going through.
@ebonyharris5412 whether you feel I misunderstood or not is irrelevant. As what I said goes beyond whatever you're talking about. Try that quality of psychology elsewhere.

James Brown put Tammi in the hospital more than once, and every time with broken bones. The abuse from both Brown and Ruffin were thought to maybe have contributed to her brain tumor.
I loved her duets with Marvin Listen to them all the time Marvin never got over her death Both were so talented and left a great void on the history of music. God bless their memory

I absolutely 💯% loved her voice especially her duets with Marvin Gaye. I asked my Mother several years back what became of her. She told me that she died from a brain tumor. But I had read a lot about her being constantly abused by men. They wanted to control her because of her phenomenal beauty & talented. Its as if they wanted to posess her... Like a prized possession but hated her for the very attributes that she held. That's so sick and toxic 😪
I've always wondered why? Women like this with a heart warm and passionate had problems with men that abused them what I've discovered men who had abuse and other issues dealt with them and sought help with it so in order to deal they took their pain out of them I realize we all have issues that we deal with daily Tammie shouldn't have gone through such treatment but this is the way of the world even today I've found out when you take them to the Lord and work on them with His help you can overcome anything I loved seeing Marvin and Tammie singing together they song great hits together I thought her and Marvin looked great together but later on I found out he had issues as well she was a song bird to me and Marvin had a great voice as well those memories of them two will forever be in my heart they are truly missed ❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢
What a short, hard life filled with tragedy that she was able to consistently overcome and blossom! So extremely talented and loving! RIP Tammi and continue to sing and have joy in heaven!

Omg chrisette Michelle looks like a. Reincarnation of the
Initial picture showed of her in color….RIP Queen 👑🙏🏽
James Brown put Tammi in the hospital more than once, and every time with broken bones. The abuse from both Brown and Ruffin were thought to maybe have contributed to her brain tumor.

Beautiful Lovely Lady Tammi Terrell.
I loved her duets with Marvin Listen to them all the time Marvin never got over her death Both were so talented and left a great void on the history of music. God bless their memory
She was my first crush as a young man in high school back in the 60's. Oddly, to this day, whenever I hear her sing or see that smile I flash right back to my youth.
I cringe when people speak fondly of James Brown
I find it hard, as I love his music...
He was a thug

I was in total love with Tammi Terell.
Eternal peace
I absolutely 💯% loved her voice especially her duets with Marvin Gaye. I asked my Mother several years back what became of her. She told me that she died from a brain tumor. But I had read a lot about her being constantly abused by men. They wanted to control her because of her phenomenal beauty & talented. Its as if they wanted to posess her... Like a prized possession but hated her for the very attributes that she held. That's so sick and toxic 😪
She still on my play list rest in peace wonderful one 😢😊😂
She was beautiful rest in paradise queen
I love to hear Tammy sing.
I was talking to my Dad he told she was my cousin. I have so much respect for her music .she was a great singer gone to soon
😊
Taraji p Hanson would have been great playing Tammi
Wow! You are soooo right, the face and complexion is spot on!!
It was also rumored that James Brown was one the abuser 😢
I read the same thing. I believe the book was a biography about James Brown. Sad.
DAVID RUDFIN OF THE TEMPTATIONS ,HE ABUSED HER ALSO.
Yes that’s true it was on Unsung
THE NARRATION MENTIONED JAMES BROWN'S ALLEGED MISTREATMENT OF HER. HE WAS KNOWN TO BE CONTROLLING.
@@oldwarriorlife Short ugly men + pretty women = napoleon complex = insecurity + abusive behaviour.
Tammy was a beautiful soul but things happen in life. ❤you are so missed gone to soon ❤RIP
So sad. She was a beautiful girl with an incredible voice.
Both Tammy and Marvin Gay had a tragic ending that saddens me to this day because I can't resist the music.
Terell and Gaye were one of the greatest duos since Astaire and Rogers. Total magic.
I was very young when she died and even at that young age...i remember how the sense of loss 😔...

@Back TO THE 60s *THE WAY YOU TOLD TAMMI'S( TOMMIE'S) STORY WAS SO PERFECTLY DONE. EVERY SYLLABLE AND WORD TOLD WITH THOUGHT , SENSITIVITY , AND IN DEPTH. THE WAY YOU SHARED THE WAY THAT BABY WAS BRUTALIZED AT 11 AND FORCED TO BE A LITTLE GIRL STRIPPED OF HER GOD GIVEN INNOCENCE AND FORCED TO CARRY A GROWN WOMAN'S IMPOSSIBLE BURDEN WAS/ IS SO NECESSARY AND HELPS TO BRING WISDOM TO GIRLS, WOMEN TODAY. THANK YOU FOR EVEN BLASTING THE LIGHT OF TRUTH OF THE CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE SWEEPING SUCH TRAUMAS AND HUMAN VIOLATIONS UNDER THE RUG CAN DO. EVERYONE EVERYWHERE, NEVER EVER KEEP ABUSE A SECRET. TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN TOPS AND SEEK JUSTICE. LET EVERYONE KNOW WHO THE MONSTERS ARE SO ANOTHER PERSON WILL BE SPARED. I PRAY SHE'S RESTING IN HEAVENLY PEACE WITH JESUS*
