    I liked the video because it does work, but I think that there is so much explaining between actions, that by the time you return to the point, some of us are confused in what step where we. I had to go back and forward 300 words between every action to follow along, after that it became very simple.

      Yes, there are many steps, an unfortunately I couldn't consolidate them, or it wouldn't be possible to complete the process to understand it. I'm glad it worked for you, and now you understand how to do it. Vince

    My biggest issue right now is the window screen size of Mach3 . It is fairly small and I see no where to be able to change the size of the window . I can have it small about 4 inches by 6 inches or full screen by using the buttons on the top right corner , nothing in between . great videos as always

      Tri, Thank you for your support. The xml. backup is just for he settings you put in Mach to setup your system. If additional settings were added outside the general setup ones then they will have to be put back in manually. Thank you,

    Vince thank you for posting this streight fwd to the point will make things alot easier when i get ready to switch over to win 10 i have a question tho im using win xp rt now with mach 3 to run my cnc plasma table and it uses Lpt1 port w/a com. port to the drive with that being said first off win xp is only 32 bit and i was told mach 3 will only work with 32 bit but i have herd others say it will work fine with 64 bit in win 7 8 ans 10 i just wanted to see your take on it also if i upgrade to another pc with win 7 8 or 10 i know they dont use Lpt1 or Com. ports like the older machines thus my plug ins for my drive uses them my question is can i use the usb ports instead i know they make adaptors but im not sure if i will need to change the baud rates to make them work this way . i apprciate and value your input please let me know thank you Bill in Nevada ps also the drive im using is c and cnc blade runner system if that helps

    • @corvetteguy50
      @corvetteguy50  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Bill, Thank you for your support. Mach3 is only compatible with 32bit architecture operating systems. If you want to use it with 64bit operating systems you'll require an ethernet controller, or USB controller. I don't recommend using USB accessories/controllers with plasma systems due to the amount of EMI produced by the torch. USB ports only supply 5v which is very susceptible to interference. I would recommend using an ethernet controller like my PLCM-E1B, or ethernet smooth stepper.
      Thank you, and you, and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

    Excellent tutorial Vince, thanks for sharing with us. Does this work with Mach4? Every time I download a new copy of 4 it gives me a new machine ID and therefore will not let me use the previous lic.dat file ... if you get what I mean... Every time I download a fresh copy of Mach4 for whatever reason, generally because of corrupt HDD, I have to go back to the vendor and plead to get a new lic.dat that matches the new machine Id. He has given it to me on two occasions but pushing the friendship if I want to get a new lic.dat from him again....
    Any advise on that would be appreciated Mate. Thanks again, Bruce.

    • @corvetteguy50
      @corvetteguy50  2 роки тому

      Hey Bruce, I really appreciate your support. Unfortunately Mach4 is a completely different animal in that Artsoft is trying to control virtually every aspect of the software. Their licenses are heavily monitored to prevent piracy, so at this point you'll have to live with their vendor supplying a new license. I'm not a Mach4 fan for many reasons, and this is certainly one of them. I suggest if you haven't already seen it you review my Pumotix motion control software. ua-cam.com/video/I7_XxyaFSVI/v-deo.html Thank you, Vince

      @@corvetteguy50 Thanks Vince for your response. I was afraid that was going to be the answer.... No worries, should I have catastrophic HDD failure I will have to annoy the vendor again. Cheers Mate.

    No go.
    I've copied my liscence and back up file to a thumb drive. I can transfer/paste them to my C drive/M3 folder to the new computer, but no matter what I do M3 opens in demo only. I don't even care if the back up settings transfer, I can just copy them by hand from one screen/cpomputer to another.
    Not sure what my next step should be.

      Hey Kirk, thank you as always for your support. Unfortunately the only way to help you would be to schedule a consultation with you for me to actually see what's going on, because if the Mach3 users license is retail the software should be activated as it was on the previous system once copied over. Thank you,

    • @corvetteguy50

    You have Mach3 on a Windows10 laptop, which is what I would like to do, but I was told that Mach would not run properly on Windows10. So I have it installed on an old Windows7 desk top. Will I be ok to follow your procedure an put it on the new laptop please?

      @corvetteguy50  3 роки тому

      Mitch, thank you for your support. Mach3 works great with Windows 10. You will install it without installing the parallel port driver as its not used with your laptop. You'll require a USB motion controller www.ebay.com/itm/132505537529, or ESS motion controller www.ebay.com/itm/133064380079 to enable signal conversion properly. Thank you,

    Hello, I'm currently running on a setup where i had an old XP, 32 bit where the PC unfortunately died. luckily I manage to backup the files, but this time i would like to use a newer Windows10, 64 bit, because i don't wan't to run into this issue again. It was connected through a USB so i figured i could use your precedure, but for some reason i can't get any of the settings to be applied on the new machine, eventhough i took the backup from the XML repository, applied and renamed it, into the March3 folder.
    I have no manual for the machine and i figured it would be a quite a hard work to complete the whole setup without it.
    Hope you can help me :-)
    Kind Regards Frederik Voldbirk

    • @corvetteguy50
      @corvetteguy50  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Frederik, thank you for your support. Unfortunately you're not able to use Mach3 with a 64bit version of Windows unless you're using a USB motion controller, or ethernet motion controller as Mach3's standard interface for communication is by using a parallel port while only supporting Windows operating systems with 32bit architecture. Thank you,
      Vince

      Thank you for the very Quick response :-)
      It was already connected to the controller through a USB, with the 32bit XP system.
      So i believe it’s already Connected to a USB motion board.
      So i thought that i could use the same settings on the Windows 10 64bit

    • @corvetteguy50

      @@FrederikVoldbirk Ok, if you're using a USB controller then copying the HTML file should in theory give you all your settings. If not I would start with reinstalling Mach3 to see if it solves the issue. Thank you,

    Played around some more and just decided to buy another Mach3 liscence for my other computer. Unfortunately the Newfangled solutions website won't let me in. I keep getting "website unresponsive". Not sure if this is on my end or their end. You would think they would love to get another $175 out of me. I will figure this out.

      I really don't think the license is the issue. You may want to try a new flash drive to see if it helps if you haven't already. I've seen issues with them in the past. Thank you,
