You did not mention the use of the “guard” which is what makes bjj unique… everything else you will find it in every other grappling sport and martial art.. the use of leverage and skills vs brute strength is the common denominator of all martial arts.. the fluent use of the guard from one variant to another to sweep, then control the opponent and ultimately apply the final submission is what makes bjj unique.. no other sport or martial art plays guard….
@@Fist-Fury no problem, it's a very interesting jui jitsui. Myself have only done aiki jui jitsui and kempo jui jitsui amongst a string of other martial arts including iai jitsui which is thought jui jitsui had came from which isn't the case and Kenjitsui which is also interesting. Also iaido and kendo. Would have liked to have learnt kodakan jui jitsui but it is as rare as hens teeth kodakan judo is far more popular but I have already done this one.
You are wrong, Jui Jitsui was developed way before Samurai and even before conflicting clans. Japanese shopkeepers needed a way to protect themselves and their ware's against shoplifters and protection rackets. Much of the moves had derived from China Kung Fu but without the animal type of distinction you would find in Chinese martial arts. Some people think this could also be traced back to India from Buddha's guards being sent to China, yes they was sent there but this is where that story stops, roughly at the same time Kung Fu start in the west of China make of this what you will is it coincidence?
@@Fist-Fury the oldest Indian martial art that is still around is Kalaripayattu, this would have been used against Alexander the great. This would have few similarities to Chinese Kung fu.
@@Fist-Fury not exactly Taekwondo is one eighth of Tang so do which was a imported from Chinese royal family guards to protect the Korean royal family during the Tang dynasty. Taekwondo derived it's name around the triangler footwork. All the jui jitsui's derived from monastery kung fu, not monarchy kung fu these are rivals and often battled each other and more often than not monarch kung fu lost.
