Didn’t know The Art of Racing in the Rain was a book but I watched it and it is SO BEAUTIFUL. Was on a plane and had to keep myself from crying but I adored it, Milo is just ugh ♥️
I loved the Let It Snow movie, I felt like it was a teenage version of Love Actually so the multiple storylines didn't bother me that much because Love Actually is one of my favourite Christmas movies so, I enjoyed it and found it easy to follow
Moonlit Waters I actually did but I watched the movie first so maybe that’s a reason why I like the movie. I just never imagined the characters looking different etc.
I love this topic! Underrated video because there are so many adaptations out these days and it’s interesting to see how they compare to the book! Sometimes when I’m not interested in a book I still try the movie/show bc it’s less of a commitment lol
Your missing out on the art of racing in the rain. Sure it’s sad but it’s also really funny! They did such an amazing job with it. The book and movie are fantastic
IT is my favourite book and movie (the first one) and i really want to see you doing a video reading the book for the first time or watching the movie with a review so pleasee do it :)
I had to completely take reality away at the end of Five Feet Apart. When I watched it in theater I was like what????? But I have seen it about 10x since then because I now ended up loving it. It was one of those where I had to watch it again and put aside reality and now i swoon lol. I haven’t read the book either.
There is a site that tells you if the dog dies at the end of the movie so if you're worried about that with some movies you can check out the site and check if the dog does die
I read the Art of Racing in the Rain in high school and it was one of the only books for school I actually read. I would love to reread it someday too!
(SPOILER) omg i hate that in five feet apart they didn’t include the actual ending in the book!!! i loved the film then the ending ruined it for me because i really wanted to see them reunite in the airport and it wasn’t in the movie !!!!! :(
I really appreciate your videos. Even when you have an unfavorable opinion of something you aren’t overly negative like some others. That’s why you’re my favorite ❤️
On Five Feet Apart; if the book is exactly the same as the movie, it was a movie to book adaption; if they cut out important plot points and character development, added more drama than was needed, etc, then it's book to movie
I was the only one in the theater for Five Feet Apart sobbing at the end. I'd read the book first, so I knew how it ended. That didn't keep me from completely breaking down tho 😭
As a person who read the art of racing in the rain, but didn't watch the movie, I can tell you it's a safe story to watch/read (assuming the movie is not different from the book)
I’m reading Let it Snow right now on audio! So far I’m really enjoying it, I think I’m nearing the end of the first story. Definitely reading it in preparation for the Netflix adaption, I’m excited to watch it still because of the cast! I am PUMPED for Little Women because I loooooved the Winona Ryder version and the new cast looks so excellent! After movie adaption was awful and I was a fan of the books. The Goldfinch adaption was great, I read the book before the movie and I gave the book 4 stars and the movie 5 stars RACING IN THE RAIN MOVIE BROKE MY HEART! I won’t be able to read the book lol
There is a series on Netflix called virgin river. It's a romance series by Robyn carr The book les miserables by Victor hugo is a movie starring Liam Neeson but I dont know how old it is
The "Five Feet Apart" movie was inspired by Tfios, and it was adapted into a book. I really enjoyed the story in both formats and I could definitely get something out of it. However, I liked the book ending better than the movie ending.
Five Feet Apart - First book and then the movie... I felt the exact same way you did. The book was better and so was the book ending. Let it snow - A big No. the book was so whimsical but this movie couldn’t translate those emotions.
OMG....you and I are alike. I love playing SIMS. My favorite is SIMS 3 and all the expansions. Plus you love the color purple and you HATE clowns. We are so alike in many ways.
Thank you for not showing the 'IT' movie poster!! Like you I am a total clurophobic and cannot stand clowns!! There is just something about them, that freaks me out - even Ronald McDonald, I can seriously not deal with him.....if they have events at McDonalds, and they have him there; nope, I am not going anywhere near and if I do happen to and see them there, I leave very quickly!! So you're not alone on the fear of clowns!!!
I hate when people use the name “the golden compass” cause that’s a name they made up for the film. The series is his dark materials, and the first book is “the northern lights” but they changed it for the movie, and the movie sucks.
"Northern Lights" is the UK title - in the US it's "The golden compass", so they didn't make it up just for the movie. I read it in german when I was younger and it was also called "The golden compass" (in german obviously) and that was before the movie came out.
I don’t think I will be able to watch the TV adaptation of Nancy Drew. I like the book better. What about the Hardy Boys? Are they not making it into a TV show?
Honestly I didnt like the book for The Sun is Also a Star and I didnt care for the movie either. Honestly, (I forget the Male character's name) but he seemed WAY more stalkerish in the movie
The only book to movie adaptations I watched this year was Harry Potter films 5, 6, 7 and 8. I loved them so much but I found Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 quite boring, my sister years ago watched it and she didn't like it. I haven't watched any other book to movie adaptations in 2019 so I'm hoping (fingers cross 🤞) I'll watch some in 2020 🎬📚
Georgie Farr mum held us off from reading Harry Potter until now when she feels we have read enough of other authors and are sure enough I our Christian faith
I took After for what it was worth and going into it with that knowledge it was okay to watch. Definitely better than the book. I honestly don’t want to be rude or negative but I have NO IDEA why this is so popular. I guess the same way Fifty Shades is? Just, I had to DNF it. I tried so hard thinking I’d get better or I would enjoy it but. 🤷🏽♀️ I guess that’s why different things exist in this world- not everyone can like everything or even the same thing. I’m just such a book snob 😂 I’ll watch pretty much anything but I can’t power through a book that’s writing style, plot, characters, etc, dont jive with me.
@@HaileyinBookland Ah okay, my bad. You just mentioned YA specifically in the beginning. And a lot of people categorize it as YA and that can be a problem sometimes because some teens shouldn't read some stuff.
Like if you’re ready for the Little Women 2019 adaptation 🥰
maria Lopez we got this during our book haul🥰
I SO AM. I'VE GOT TO READ IT BEFORE I SEE IT.
Definitely am!
Can’t wait!
Good Omens made a pretty big splash when it was adapted for Amazon prime! Must admit I was surprised not to see it here lol. Great video though:)
Yeah I feel like I never see anyone talking about that but it was so good!
I totally forgot about it!
Dug it!

i loved looking for alaska the show SO MUCH
Unpopular opinion: I actually love the golden compass movie.
Have you read the books?
Moonlit Waters I actually did but I watched the movie first so maybe that’s a reason why I like the movie. I just never imagined the characters looking different etc.
So cool you included Nevernight! The Adaption was great, especially because it's not from a studio. It's just a fangirls dream come true!
Babsi Kro this in out to be read/reviewed list
Discovery of Witches had a mini series this year. Never read the books but the show was really well done.
It was one of the best serie of that year, i saw it and then i read the first book and i just fell in love
I've watched about 4 episode of His Dark Materials and I think it's really good so far and definitely works better as a TV show
IT'S EARLY I'M HERE AND HAILEY IS BEAUTIFUL AND I'M SO HAPPY
Too bad little women wasn’t out yet. That cast is perfect!
NANCY DREW WAS MY CHILDHOOD
Jay G We absolutely agree
When she said the words "Catherine of Aragon"", I literally jumped out of my seat. Any other theater peeps out there?!!

The Art Of Racing in the rain, I loved that book!
There's also You on Netflix, that's an adaptation! The second series comes out next week x
HI HAILEY IM EARLY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER I LOVE U HOPE URE HAVING FUN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON SO FAR
The fact that my mom is always surprised when something happens to the dog is endlessly entertaining. Lol.
Loved the comments about clowns and dogs 😂😂😂😂 I can definitely relate to that.

The last time I was this early there was no global warming 😂❤ U Hailey
There was no UA-cam either
I'm older than you and I still love playing the Nancy Drew games. I think I have the entire collection. My niece also plays them.
Thank you for not putting the IT poster, it scares me too 😂😂😂
😂

Chelsie Caldwell Omg same😣 I sat through the credits hoping that there would be a post-credit scene that never came
The book ending is a deleted scene! I watched it on youtube.
AGREEEEED
Elizabeth Nicole Thank youuuu🙏
The book ending is A deleteknop scène. YOU Can find IT on youtube and if you have The dvd you Can also watch it on that version.
I loved The Spanish Princess! I am very excited for season 2!
I LOVE the Nancy Drew games. I think I have all of them and will probably play them as long as they come out 🤣

I’ve been waiting for a nancy drew adaptation. I didn’t like how they made the CW adaptation, but I still watch it. Haha.
I still need to watch after but it is one of my favourite book series so I hope the movie will be too

I'm so glad to be early !!!! ❤
I loved the book The Sun is also a star but i DNF'd the movie 😂 it really was boring and now I'm glad I didn't watch it
I didn't like the movie either. But I thought Charles Melton was really good!
I didn’t watch the movie, but I LOVED the book.
Omg, you really must watch Goldchinch💛 i love it
Would rather replay Jack’s death in Titanic 4728363 times than see a movie where something bad happens to a dog!!!
The cereal boxes game 😆
Five Feet Apart - First book and then the movie... I felt the exact same way you did. The book was better and so was the book ending.
Let it snow - A big No. the book was so whimsical but this movie couldn’t translate those emotions.
Ankitha Robin Poothavelil thanks for this! We’ll be sure to read the book before we watch the movie 💔
Mbawa Book Reviewers a very prudent decision. 🤗👍🏻
There was call me by your name and also the miseducation of Cameron post!
Those are 2017 and 2018 adaptations 😊
i wanna watch five feet apart but i just don't wanna put myself through an emotional one like that atm
After is one of my favorite series. You just have to give it a chance. At least try to read the first book. Itll be worth it
you forgot the witcher which was adapted into a series and released on netflix today :)
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who didn't finish Let it Snow because I enjoyed the book but I could NOT get through the movie 🙄

I wish I could contribute to this discussion with a relevant comment, but I haven't seen a single of these adaptations, nor read most of the novels.
I wasn't crazy about The Sun Is Also A Star adaptation either and I haven't even read the book.
I'm so excited for Little Women! ^^
I didn’t like The Sun is Also a Star as a movie I loved the book though
Shocked you didn't mention Good Omens. I know it's not YA and was a tv series so maybe that's why.
Just forgot about it that’s all!
Shoutout to Doctor Sleep :)
His dark materials keeps paying off
I hate a clown too. I don't know who thought clowns were a good idea.
As a spanish, listening the cast "speaking" in spanish in the Spanish princess is a torture but cool show tho
I hate when people use the name “the golden compass” cause that’s a name they made up for the film. The series is his dark materials, and the first book is “the northern lights” but they changed it for the movie, and the movie sucks.
Sophie cox legit scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else feels this way. Annoys me so much!

Millie Faye i personally loves the books and the movie, but the books are better.
Nah, Five Feet Apart is a book first before it became a movie. I've read the book before it was announced to be a movie.
I think The Darkest Minds cane this year? Or was it last year?
I read pet semetary but I can’t watch the film, lost 2 pets this year so hits way too close to home!
