Mine fell off a boat and doesn’t work anymore 😢 Def getting another one. My only beef is changing the inner lens protector. It never goes in easy and I end up having to use an X-Acto knife to pry it out to get it to slide in.
you're the man for real. also, i've been welding for a company for years and this is my hood and it is seriously the best money can buy. ive thried the viking and many others and if you wear one for an extended period of time this is the one just get it. but great video keep it up
There is one thing I can I say that I have been disappointed with in my A50: When the helmet goes down as far as it can, the top of the viewing window is nearly level with the bridge of my nose. That is annoying. I adjusted the settings as far as I can, but it is still too low when it falls to its final position. Other than that, it's amazing.
Dropped this helmet about 4 feet from working off ladder and it hit clear shield first, can’t see left half of screen now, a week old shield done forever 😢
Damn... did you contact esab? I wonder if they could help. I really feel for you man.. I’m so scared of dropping this too I just use my tigerhood. Feels too sensitive
How is the price point relative to other top competitors? 300 US seems a little steep but I have 0 experience with welding gear. Great review KO Report!
One can get an entry level helmet for $120. Viewing area is about 2/3 the size of a business card, figment is more “snap / hole” type and usually bulky, and have minimal settings and features. Put it one and go. Mid range comes in at $240 range. Larger viewing area, more features, quicker dim rate. At $300 you’re hitting premium helmets / hoods. Some go as high as $349. I agree that it’s a steep price for anyone that’s not welding for a living. The $120 is a home use mostly. The mid range may use it once a week or every other. The high end ones are for daily welding for sure.
I'm not trying to be that guy...But, if you're going to go on UA-cam and do a review on anything, make sure you're pronouncing the name of it correctly. Its not a Centennial. Not a 100 year anniversary. Its a Sentinel. As in a Guard or Protector. Proper name for a welding helmet/hood actually. Its hard for people to take you seriously when you fail that hard out of the gate. Other than that and the lack of any performance testing, great vid. This was the last video on this helmet/hood before purchasing.
Thanks for pointing that out, I should have talked more about that! However, a company with the reputation of ESAB sorta speaks for itself. Plus the price point is $300 not $79.99. You get what you pay for.
This helmet is complete garbage. Im the second welder this helmet took a dump on for no reason before even 6 months of use. $375 down the drain, go with a cheap hood.
Thanks for this bro. $300 for a welding hood that I’m gonna use for 6hrs a day 7 days a week will pay itself off

Man I hate to hear that about losing one. Maybe the next one will a have better fit at the lens

Can someone point me to a welding helmet with a much larger inside screen???
Miller infinity, Lincoln viking, optrel panoramaxx
Weld cote true vision use it every single day never had a problem and about 150 dollars and very comfortable
My company makes us blend the corners with structural steel. Evan though sometimes you dont
when will it be in the Indonesian market
I’m not really sure, sorry!
Is there a way to mount a light to this hood? If not that is a deal breaker.
I’m not sure to be honest. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a light on a welding helmet. Keep in mind, I’m not a welder by trade.
Does this helmet use the usual 2450 batteries?
Great video.
Yes, I believe so. That or the CR3230. It’s a thin coin sized watch battery.
mine auto turns on occasionally, draining batteries. not really a huge problem but anyone else noticed this?
Oh man, that sucks.
thank you
Sentinel, not centenial.
Is it “ok” or “okay”? Asking for a friend. Lol
@@TheKOreport That's not even similar, seeing as you said 2 completely different words and ok vs okay are the same exact words...
Great video !
Did ESAB pay you to make this video?
No, I’ve not gotten paid for any of my videos. At the time this was made I sold several tool and equipment items.

It’s the southern accent. You should hear how I say mirror and light. A curse for sure!
@@TheKOreport I too am from the south. Tennessee all day.
It's his channel and he can pronounce it any way he wants.
Gotta get me one
seems like the protection in your eyes is not important because all you says is good looking comportable straps and so on

Most welding screens are especially the same. You really pay for all the features and a slightly improved screen.
God that first letter sounds so bad in English pronouncing for Swedish name 😂
😂😆😝🤣
Lost me in the first 5 seconds!!!
I wasn’t really looking for you to be honest. But hey, I’m glad you made the effort to show up! You missed the best part though. Maybe next time!

Anyone else have this same experience?? The helmet just stops working after a while and no new batteries work.
My experience with it has been good, but I don’t weld often. Sorry for your bad luck with it.
lolllll 300 usd??? I am confidence with my voice control welding helmet if the consumer to compare my welding helmet with ESAB A50
What are you talking about?
slow and ugly,"" hahaha!!! on video, too.
