    5 years ago when I bought my auto dark mask, I thought the knob on the side that went from 9 to 11 was cutting edge. Nice work!

      Yes, the technology has come a long way in recent years for the welding hoods. Ergonomics has made great leaps too.

    Personal preference...which one do you like better. I'm trying to choose between the sentinel and the Viking right now...actually been tossing back and fourth for the past month. I want the Clearest view. But I work outside and inside, gtaw, gmaw, fcaw. Best and clearest all around helmet..

      Hey J&R Mobile Welding. In my opinion for your line of work I would choose the 3350. It is better suited to FCA, theSentinel can distort the outer lens from the heat. I have a written review on both helmets at www.weldingempire.com
      I hope that helps.

      I own this helmet it is amazing but in my opinion the Miller digital elite feels better on my head. Other than that the visual clarity of this hood is probably the best I've used

      Hey Petar, The ESAB can be a tricky helmet to replace the lens. Curve the inside lens width ways and gently place one side under the small tabs. Once in keep the lens curved and slot it into the other side. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    I have the money for it but I don’t know if I really need a 300 dollar hood. Is there any other hoods you would recommend

      Hey, if you like the esab brand they have released the esab savage. Slightly smaller viewing area and no LCD screen. About half the price. Yes welder has a good helmet with a large viewing area with an external grinding switch too.

    Does anybody have problems with dark spots after welding? I have to set it to 13 for every process and I still see spots afterwards. I honestly hate this that I can’t find a hood that won’t give me spots. This is probably my 16th hood I’ve purchased and still, spots not solved. I can’t win.

    • @weldingempire
      @weldingempire  3 роки тому

      Hey Michael, I haven't come across people having that problem before. 13 is a little dark for welding around home (if that's what you are doing).

    • @Mikey-ym6ok
      @Mikey-ym6ok 3 роки тому

      @@weldingempire this is a very bright hood. welding with tig at 125 amps isn’t dark enough. And welding at 200? No way, have to wear sunglasses to alleviate the spots and discomfort. Junk helmet.

    • @spoofer20
      @spoofer20 3 роки тому +2

      @@Mikey-ym6ok How can you say its a junk helmet? I've welded at those amperages and I dont even hit close to 13 for 125 amp, for tig. I stay at around 11 easily. I think you might have sight issues man, you should go to a eye specialist and get your sight checked out. You might have retinal issues :/

      You stated 16 hoods you tried all.gave you the same issues, don't dint seem brand specific?
      I tig weld at everything from 30 to 290 amps.
