I had 2 of these as a kid. For some reason these humble vans were my fav Matchboxs.

    Lenses for headlights?
Ahh, they don' make 'em like they used to!
As always, great job! Your model in the end looks very realistic.

My dad worked for BT for many years, he drove the old Sherpa vans in the early 90s before they upgraded to the grey Transits. I'll definitely be sending this video to him!

Awesome as usual. I owned a '79 Ford Courier Pickup as my daily driver back in the mid-1980's.

Being from across the pond this custom is of particular interest. We didn’t have this vehicle here, so I hope I can run into this casting. You did a phenomenal job Jason with the custom and the real life history of vehicle and company livery you chose. Great way to start the new year!!!!

When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought you were talking about the tiny pickup.
This is an interesting die cast.
I’m sure maybe someone picked one up as surplus and turned it into either a camper or a tiny home on wheels.
It’s a good refurb, especially the detailing you did.
    Happy 2023!

I've always loved this model! I'm trying to make Fiesta mk3s from 2 of these, 1 3 door and the other a 5 door.

nicely done. I wasn't aware there is only one version of the courier van. I might have a window-version laying somewhere, but not sure... I'll have a lookout next time I go out for die-casts. :)
to me it looks convincing. also, realistic wheels haven't been a thing since SIKU switched from plastic to zamac back when. I like the look of it, and it's a nice change from the typical wide and shiny aftermarket wheels usually put onto restomods.
also I don't think Ford offered any other interior colour for these except grey, grey and grey... XD so all one could do is detailing. which would be obscured by the windows.
    one can't win, huh? ;)

Hi Jason. If you ever come across another one of these vans then how about doing one in Royal Mail Livery or cause it came as an Left Hand Drive casting, Do one in Gibralter Post livery. Cheers for now & keep up the good work.

@@DieCastRestos also can I just say, your style of video with the history of the car is brilliant. It's not something I've come across before and is very informative and interesting. It's nice to see the quality of your restorations, they remind of Rob from Matchbox garage but he seems to have disappeared a year ago. Keep on keeping on.

I think you should apply a clear coat to really reveal the paint, and unfortunatley, on most of your models, the marker job wastes the final result because he’s not enough clean… that’s a shame ! Otherwise, the job stays great

Nice idea but the panell lining is a bit overdone resulting in some dirty looking spots espcialy on the driverside. "Less is more" would have been the right way...
