  • The flames from a gas stove using natural gas need attention and care as any other color can clue on to a possible hazard. If you see orange, yellow, or red flames instead of blue flames, the burners may need cleaning or adjusting.

If you're using LPG from cylinders or propane tank supply, a properly converted cooker with properly installed LPG jets will produce blue flames with just a slight yellow triangular tip at the top of the flame on butane cylinders at a pressure of 28mbar whereas the flame will be blue in colour with just a very slight yellow light in the blue flame on the oven and grill burners.
If you are using an LPG ready cooker, the same flame appearances will also exist on the same gases.
However, if you are using a natural gas cooker on LPG without conversion to it, the flames will be yellow with lots of soot on pans, the oven and grill walls and sides.
Natural gas appliances are not designed to be run on LPG bottled gas and LPG appliances are not designed to be run on natural gas, the reason being are the BTUs / calorific values and working pressures for both gases are different and incompatible with one another.
