- Our gas stove had orange flames instead of blue flames. What we found out was causing this might surprise you, I know we were.

WOW!! I can't believe it, It worked. I have been going nuts with this orange flame on all 5 burners. It was my humidifier downstairs. The heat from my fireplace going up the staircase carried the air up to my kitchen, that's it. I opened the windows to clear the air and shut the humidifier and it worked. Also, my air cleaner whet to high level now it's normal THANK YOU!!
THANK YOU, I had the same issue caused by using my humidifier. It was driving me crazy, Glad I found your video, thanks again!
Found this and it's the exact problem I've been facing. THANK YOU!!
Just went through this same issue. Also our house looked like it had a slight haze throughout. Very helpful video.
Thanks for the info. I live a mile off the lake so my humidity levels get pretty high naturally. I usually run the de-humidifier in the winter to control the condensation on the windows. But my sinuses started acting up at night so I thought I would give the de-humidifier a break. That is about when both my stove and heater started burning orange, not as orange as yours though. Then the next day they were both back to burning blue. I will watch the humidity levels now.
Last night I turned on my blue flame Mr Heater and my new humidifier. Woke up to orange flames today! Thank you!
Appreciate this! Very helpful have our humidifier running almost all the time so i was definitely relieved
So glad I found your video - I was just about to call a tech after watching other videos all day about fuel/gas ratio and not being able to locate my air shutter adjustments. Didn’t even cross my mind that we just started using a new humidifier last night and that it could be the cause of this. Thanks for saving me a couple hundred bucks! 🤝
Thank you. Oddly enough, even though my issue was not related to a humidifier, something you mentioned helped me figure out the cause. It had to do with salt. First I ever had orange flames and first time I was ever that "overgenerous" salting my pan for the steak. Shutting the stove of and quick cleanup, and all is well.
Just happen yesterday. Gas guy said it’s ok (couldn’t believe it). Looked this up and did what u said. Worked! Thanks so much
Thanks for posting. Seems like I might have the same issue. This was helpful.
OMG You are the best. Thanks for posting. I was going crazy when all my burners started burning orange.
Thanks, I turned the humidifier on yesterday, today gas fire flame was yellow! Your video is most helpful👍
Thank you ! It was our humidifier!!! We have salt and a few other things in the distilled water! Thank you
Same issue for me and also glad I found your video.
Thank you so much for this info, answers the question!!!!
So glad I found your video, this is EXACTLY what happened to us yesterday! Saved us a service call. Thanks!!
So glad that this video helped you.
What an unbelievable video, my stove was with yellow flames, I thought maybe a spider had gotten into the air ducts? when I was watching the video I noticed the ultrasonic vaporizer spewing moisture into the air, WOW!!!I had my answer, superb!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Thanks for the video. We have humidifier and today got up and ran the stovetop and got 1/2 blue and 1/2 orange (all burners). I went on-line and did see one guy mention "humidifier" but he didn't get too specific, especially with regards to "why". I was leaning towards the regulator when I saw your video. It has been about an hour since I cooked my omelet this morning. By now the AC had been running in the kitchen area for several minutes. I turned on one burner and it's just fine, same with the rest. If it quacks like a duck...
Glad you figured it out ! I never knew that could happen
Yes we were very surprised. Hope you are doing well. We pray for you everyday.
Our gas fireplace started burning orange after I turned on a cool mist humidifier to help keep our Christmas tree fresh. Since the orange color is caused by minerals dispersed into the air by the cool mist humidifier, I plan to fix it by using distilled water instead of tap water.
Glad I found this video. We experienced that exact problem!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope your issue is as simple as our turned out to be.
Thank you for this video This exactly what was happening to us and you save me time and money thank you Señor
That explains it, thanks!
Thank you, will check on that just put in a humidifier and now have yellow flame
Thanks a million 😁👍🏽
Thanks. Something like that never would have dawned on me. Ours started burning orangish so I cleaned the orifices which did not help. We had just started our humidifier the day before as well so that is next on the agenda.
Thank you.
wow, had my humifer on went to cook later had orange flame. Waiting for it to correct itself so I can cook. hope this is the problem.
Thank you. You Saved my 🥓
Having this issue so thanks for the info. Just a thought though, is it safe to keep the humidifier on and use the burners to cook when the flames are orange?
I’m wondering if having the ceiling fan on high while cooking is the reason the flames turned red and caused the smoke detector to come on .
Thanks far sharing this info, I had the same issue. Now I'd like to hear your way to handle the humidifer. If I turn the humidifer off, the house air become really dry. What did you do?
Nothing you can do. It’s either moisture in the air or orange flames. I would try simmering water on the stove. You won’t get orange flames as fast.
Or, used distilled water.
Hey man so I got same stuff going on but here's strange thing - I put distilled water in a very basic humidifier (disassembled to confirm) with no silver "filters" but it still manages to instantly turn a blowtorch flame full orange-pink. Any ideas what unholy witchery is this? Not sure that tiny-ass piezo could contain that much silver to make gas flame go full bananas.
Hello Giorgi, Everything I am reading states that distilled water should not cause this problem as the minerals/impurities are boiled out.
Have you always used distilled water or did you use tap at sometime? If tap water was used at some point it is possible that minerals deposits from the tap water are built up in the humidifier. I imagine this possibly could cause your issue.
A good cleaning of the humidifier to get rid of any deposits I would hope would resolve your issue.
If your issue still remains I would recommend have your stove checked out to make sure there is not an issue with it.
I don’t know if this has been help but I hope you can solve the unholy Witchery you are experiencing. Thank you watching our videos.
Take care
Bill
Is it safe to use humidifier and stove at the same time?
That is a very good question that I do not have a good answer for.
Is the humidifier.
Lol thx
Well, slap my face and call me Nancy, I would not connect the two, but …
