As a self thaught third world 0 buget guy, i learn A LOT making all free, now i know how to setup lunix server and ODOO with nginx and domains. I did learn python to develop odoo modules. SOLVING PROBLEMS IN LITTLE PARTS is the only way yo will learn.
This was an amazing interview! So clear he has so much experience in the industry and can translate that for new developers (or aspiring developers like me 🤘). Super impressed with your questions and how clearly he could give feedback or provide more depth and candidness that I've seen in most of these types of interviews. Thanks for sharing!
We're missing a lot of key elements about becoming an api developer. I would like to see more on openapi, devops, gitflow, databases, thoughts about middleware, response caching, logging, etc. Backend development is a deep subject. Perhaps the magnitude of things to know is why a lot of developers don't start as backend devs. It's not easy squeezing all of this into an hour podcast for sure. The key thing is to constantly educate yourself. Ask questions. ChatGPT can definitely assist with answers, if you know how to use it correctly.
I have a question. I’m currently building a javascript based game and just got all my schemas setup. My game basically has two schemas for each object. It has a Data scheme for monsters, and then a Game schema for the monsters that the players own which reference the data monster in the data schema. Because of this I have two schemas for practically everything. Monsters, Items, weapons, armor. Two schemas for each object.. Is that redundant or practical in a game? My game currently has about 14 schemas in it and I was just wondering if that’s normal for a project like mine?

May I ask if you can review Columbia University Coding bootcamp? I don’t think there are any reviews of that BC on UA-cam and I really want your opinion on it!

Definitely deserves more views! Extremely valuable podcast.
We want more videos like this!! Thank you!!
Amazing podcast. Mr. Dickinson really helped me understand how API works and its purpose compared to the low level explanations.
I'm listening to this one hour before an interview. You've filled me with so much vital info, and yes I am very curious.

There's a form link in each of my UA-cam video descriptions where you can request that I review a specific program.
