I wear this Lorier all the time. It’s amazing on a nato strap. The dial is a little hard to match color wise and I didn’t get a good fit on the bracelet but it’s definitely best on a nato. Also, mine is running just as well as my Pelagos 39 which is just insane!

I love the vintage vibe that Lorier watches have!! I think this is a great time to be a watch enthusiast. The selections are very plentiful and the competition is really good and these micro brands are really bringing the competition to the major watch brands. I see new micro brands pop up almost every day. Thanks for the great content and for consistently delivering professional, quality content that educates and keeps us engaged.
Lorier knocked it out of the park with the Hydra Slll. Got to see it at its debut at the Chicago Wind Up Watch Fair. Also snagged one on the first batch (currently sold out). The two different lume colors to differentiate between local and gmt time is such a nice touch.
I'm looking at it and thinking of buying one, I'm a bit worried about getting it serviced in the long run(If the business ceased to exist(for example if the owners retired) though - that's what is putting me off.
I have the 9075 in a Vaer G5 and love it. It has a nicer looking case than the Lorier and the value it offers a sapphire double-domed crystal and AR coating. Yes it is a bit more costly, but not much... It's also assembled in America!
The Miyota 9075 has opened the doors to these microbrands and I have enjoyed seeing what they come out with. I ended up purchasing a Jack Mason Stratotimer and it's fantastic. While I'd love to get a GMT Master II Batgirl, this thing has cured me of my flyer GMT desire. I've now focused building my budget towards a different desire (moonwatch).
I enjoyed this video, specifically the topic. The Lorier is very nice. Also +1 on the Stratotimer. I jumped in about five months ago and very happy with my purchase. There really is a lot to look at out there.
I bought 3 lorier neptunes as pass down watches for my daughters. All 3 engraved with "Daddy loves you" on the back. I wore each one for a few months to get it lived in so they're present in family photos and not flawless. I wanted them to remember their dad wearing that watch. For myself now, I bought a hydra for my every day watch. Love the brand.
I have 2 watches from Lorier. Haters will talk about no sapphire offering. Those are the same haters that are scared to wear a watch. These are fantastic watches for an affordable price.
Teddy, I own this Lorier Hydra and it is a really beautiful and useful watch! I get so much joy of using it and watching that beautiful dial under that awesome acrylic vintage crystal. I really recommend it!
"True GMT" aka flyer GMT vs the caller GMT. True indicates that the other is wrong. They're just different methods of a GMT movement. That being said, I have this Lorier, and it is phenomenal. A real bargain at that price point IMO.
So happy to see you reviewing this watch Teddy! Lauren and Lorenzo are so very nice and talented (and fellow NYCers) - I just love what they are doing. This Hydra is my fourth Lorier and it is just fabulous. While I love Sapphire on many of my watches, my 1962 gold vintage Omega Sea Master has acrylic as do three of my four Loriers (yes, their "dress watch" - the Zephyr is Sapphire). I've come to love acrylic in some cases. In the case of the Hydra, it is special - the distortion on the large dome is pure fun. I'm usually all about dial legibility but in this case, I'll trade that extra half-second to read the GMT time (really only at the bottom of the scale) to admire the distortion and experience some old school joy. 100% correct RE the 9075!
I own this watch. This is a great watch. The only down side is the rotator will make a hige spinning sound which makes it a cheaper experience. The Neptune is the best design but this watch is a strong second for sure. Love the brand and people always ask about my watch.
Teddy’s assessment of the current watch market encourages me that there are now so many more gateway options to draw newbies into the hobby/market and thereby allow them to experiment without loosing their shirt. Which in turn solidifies their interest in watches overall.
Thanks Teddy, I’m a big fan of Lorier and have both a Neptune and a Gemini. Another watch you could have a look at with this movement is the Vario Empire GMT. It only came out this week, but it too looks great and has a vintage feel to it.

I've been trying to get my hands on a Hyperion S2 for a while now. They sell out immediately when they become available. It's a beautiful affordable GMT. Ended up getting the Seiko Presage GMT limited edition
Lorier make some excellent watches. Got a Hyperion coming in the mail. Wanted to give a shout out for the Gavox Longitude. A beautiful 9075 based GMT i have been enjoying for almost 6 months now. A little more expensive than the Lorier at around 1k but well worth the extra cash.

Thank you very much Teddy! One question please: When crossing the date line while setting the GMT, will the date move forth and back again? Thx & cheers!
I owned it for a week. Beautiful and well made. But the small 24 hour markers are hard to read at any rate, and it's only made worse by the distortion of the (beautiful) crystal.
As a lorier fanboy (hyperion gen 1, falcon gen 2 pvd, hydra gmt) the only thing i really am not a fan of is that they downgraded the bracelet in my opinion, the links are rounded and the metal just doesnt feel as solid, i actually put my spare hyperion bracelet on the hydra because it felt cheap with the stock bracelet
It's a weird watch with its dive bezel considerably smaller than the case. For me to want a GMT it would be 38mm with no bezel and they could ditch the ugly arrow hour hand for something more suitable.
I've been "duped" before buying "caller GMTs." Always a disappointment, honestly. Unless that truly works for your lifestyle and you need to track timezones abroad, but what I like about GMTs are being able to land at the end of a flight and just quickset the hour hand instead of hacking the movement.
Good looking watch, but I can't get past a GMT watche that also include a dive bezel. What is it? A dive watch? A GMT? Please pick one style and stick with it.
Serious divers travel quite frequently, and it’s always a tough choice between multiple watches with one or the other complication when ideally we want both. I’ve already got enough gear to deal with lugging around and putting on/taking off over 3-4 dives per day, so having just one watch that you can keep on for the entire trip is a very welcome offering! Unfortunately though the Hydra is too thick and the dive bezel a little too thin. I hope that Tudor eventually release a Pelagos GMT, until then I have my eyes set on an older Seamaster reference with a GMT hand from the mid 2000’s.
Wow, this is beaut!! Gorgeous and functional. Love the dial, hands, case and bracelet. On another note though, I kind of don't get the big deal made of "True GMT" vs "caller GMT" movements. I travel a fair bit, and I have to say, I've never really found myself on a long flight, after hours of waiting in some airport, without 1 extra minute to set my watch. Just saying.
I wear this Lorier all the time. It’s amazing on a nato strap. The dial is a little hard to match color wise and I didn’t get a good fit on the bracelet but it’s definitely best on a nato. Also, mine is running just as well as my Pelagos 39 which is just insane!
I just hope the 24hr wheel is thinner and in less contrast color 🥹
Is the color gray? That’s what it looks like on their official website but it looks more black..

The acrylic scene must go
Traska Venturer GMT is an extremely excellent watch for the money. OP inspired but stills it’s own thing.
I like the new wrist tattoo Teddy
There goes my hopes on buying one
Very affordable very accurate nice watch 👍💪👏❤️❤️❤️
It's a weird watch with its dive bezel considerably smaller than the case. For me to want a GMT it would be 38mm with no bezel and they could ditch the ugly arrow hour hand for something more suitable.
I've been "duped" before buying "caller GMTs." Always a disappointment, honestly. Unless that truly works for your lifestyle and you need to track timezones abroad, but what I like about GMTs are being able to land at the end of a flight and just quickset the hour hand instead of hacking the movement.
Beautiful but I still prefer sapphire
I don’t know if you’re aware there is a recession right now thousand dollars for a watch is definitely a unneeded expense. I just wanted to say that.
Please cover the Hyperion 2! I'm seriously considering one. That dial and color combinations look fabulous.
Good video,,
I just wish they polished the hands instead of going for a hard brush finish
Love the lume and legibility. The bezel and aesthetics overall are not doing it for me at all.
