Ravinia Festival?! So I assume it’s the Chicago symphony but who is the chorus? It’s always great to hear Levine conduct Berlioz. I remember his Damnation de Faust at the Albert Hall with the Boston Symphony. Fantastic.

I just listened to a few sections here and there. Shirley Verrett is a sovereign Dido. Unfortunately, Chauvet almost ruins the famous duet with his awful intonation. Of course, Aeneas is an impossible role. Nonetheless, it’s wonderful to hear this historic performance.
