About 400 happy Kilometers going strong nothing to report on the outsole yet. Midsole just rocks! Great Running shoe :] Sorry off topic but are you planning to test the Asics GT2000 12? Perhaps a head to head with Guide 16?
im a stability runner and use the SuperBlast for upto 10km, its my fastest shoe by far and most pleasing shoe to hold a nice pace. normal shoes GT2000/12 Kayano29 Guide15, would love asics to bring ffTurbo midsole to the GT2000
Hi! I know it‘s been a few months, but I‘m someone who does very well with the GT-2000 and am now considering getting a pair of SuperBlasts for my upcoming half-marathon. I have had issues with groin pain with unstable shoes in the past. Could you maybe tell me how the SuperBlasts compare to the GT-2000s in your experience? I really love the latter and am a bit hesitant to splurge on the SuperBlasts. Thank you!
@@sarapocorn SB is smoother and more pop, good to try them on in shop for fit as some people may not get on with them but SB2 have improved overall fit. GT2000 is now not used much for me, NB 860v13 or SB1. i now run half distance in the SB. as a passive stability user ive find you need time to get use to the SB and if anything do some trail running(in trail shoes) to help improve foot ankle hip strength stability, that made a good improvement for myself.
Just ordered some Superblasts and Novablasts to try (couldn't resist as they were half-price, but I wonder if I really need them both, as still have Hoka Mach 5 and Saucony Tempus). On the wear issue, I wonder if you are somehow quite hard on your shoes. I remember you having to repair your Saucony Tempus shoes after about 200 miles, but I've done nearly 400 in mine now with little noticeable wear at all.
Thanks for the comment! 👍 As for wear, I do heel strike just a bit, and typically get sole wear on the lateral side of the heel. Most Saucony and Brooks shoes wear very well there such as the Guide series, but the Tempus outsole material is softer therefore wears more quickly. Hoka outsoles wear even faster for me.... If you are a mid to forefoot striker, I would expect the wear to be better....All that being said, "Shoe Goo" application has allowed me to extend the outsole life of these shoes well past 300 miles.
Happy New Year! Thanks for the comment and question 👍 These are awesome shoes!....I wear Aftershokz Aeropex bone conduction headphones. They are now branded as Shokz OpenRun.
@@oldmanvanrunning due to snow in our region during last weeks an now the first sun coming out here in Germany I lately come back to the decision to buy new road shoes right now. Just one question, as stability trainers I use the Glyceryn 20 GTS. Are you able to compare these (Brooks and Superblast) two stability-wise? Thx a lot!
@@matthiasplattner4065 Hey Matthias! 👋 Stability wise, the GTS 20 is more stable but not by a lot. I would also say the GTS 20 is more durable as well. From a versatility standpoint, the Superblast is the winner. It would even make a good half to full marathon shoe.
After weeks of considering I finally opted for the Superblast and fortunately could grad One of the last pieces available. What can I say, they perform exactly as you described. Thx again for you Review encouraging me to try out my first Neutrals in years. 👍🏻🙏🏻
Do they fit true to size for you or did you go half a size down? Seems some people size down and other don't with this shoe so I will likely order both and see what works best. One reviewer said sizing down helped with heel slippage. Also, have you run in it in wet conditions and if so how was the grip, average or below average? Haven't heard anything bad about the outsole durability from reviews so I'm not concerned. Rumour is that version 2 might be coming out as early as next month in the US but only with an update on the upper, which probably isn't a bad thing.
Thanks for the question! 👋 These were true to size for me (11.5 US). I have medium width feet and no issues with rubbing in the toe box. Length is fine Asa well...Haven't run in really wet conditions, but on damp pavement, it's a little slick, but not overly so. Would say average. The issue around outsole durability for me is that the outsole is inset into the midsole so that you reach the midsole quickly if you heel strike on the outside. I also seem to have a bit more wear in the forefoot than I normally see.
Hi thnanks for your views on Superblast! I' thinking to grab a pair :) as this shoe looks great with that stack height with such a lighweight shoe, very responsive, all those specs look amazing. waiting just for discounted , more reasonable price as as you mentioned outsole is questionable. Btw, what's that amazing music behind in the "introduction" ? :) All the Best!
Sorry for the delayed response! Good luck with the Superblast if you decide to get a pair. Great shoe!....As for the music, it's "Town Rat Heathen" by Hunter Root....Thanks for the support!
@@oldmanvanrunning thanks a lot. not late that's good :) Yeah, just about to buy Superblast, now can buy with 24% discount, looks great, doesn't worth to overlook and to miss out such offer :) Regarding music, I meant that instrumental music starting at around 1:00 min. :). But that initial song at the begining sounds great too :).
Ditto on price and much thicker midsole. Weight is also less than the Novablast. Basically, the Superblast is a Super Shoe without the carbon plate. It uses the same midsole materials as the top of the line ASICS race shoes.

Thanks for the comment and question! I'll definitely consider it as I've yet to try the GT2000 series
I’m late to the party but better late than never… good to join your channel
Welcome to the channel, Aubrey! Thanks for checking it out!
Just hit 300 miles in mine and the outsole has not worn down. Still a great workout and long run shoe. I can see easily 350-400 miles in the outsole.
Glad they're holding up for you! Gives me some hope they'll last me a bit longer 👍
when my basics nimbus 25 will hit the curb soon ill switch to these! really appreciated your output :)
You're very welcome! Thanks! 👍
I haven’t paid much attention to ASICS over the years but a friend got these so I did some research and just got a pair for myself. Awesome shoe

That's an AWESOME price! Let me know how you like them 👍
I am enjoying my superblast
Glad they're working out for you! 👍
I can't wait to get mine!
Near impossible to get hold of on the ASICS website sells out bigger sizes very quickly
Extremely popular shoe. Saw tons of them on the feet of fellow NYC Marathon runners on Sunday. Seems to be the super-shoe alternative of choice.
Does to form and size match between them? ie should us 9 fits the same for novablast and superblast?
Thanks for the question! 👋 I can't say for sure if the sizing is similar, as I have yet to wear the Novablast.
just ordrered these !
That's awesome! Let me know how you like them 👍
Willl do!@@oldmanvanrunning
Whats the differance between the novablast and superblast ?
The price plus superblast foam is different and thicker

How old are you?
Thanks for the question...I'll be 61 at the end of April
