  • In this video we will be taking our first look at the song "Brothers in Arms" by Home Free.
The meaning of “Brothers in Arms” rings true across more than just when we’re at war overseas, but when we’re fighting amongst ourselves.
When political and other divisions split us, we have to take a step back and remember that we always have more in common with each other than we have that is different. And we need to see all of our fellow human beings as the brothers and sisters we are, so we can live in a more harmonious society ❤️

Home Free treated this presentation with a high degree of respect, it was very sobering and intentionally dwelling on those who have given all. Also, pointing out the desire for PEACE not war as those fighting are put into harm’s way by those who are making the decisions that take the lives others. Their video was well done, simple but very purposeful in the reflection of those who gave all and reflecting on those still serving. Thank You Home Free!!! ❣

Home Free's rendition of this song is so hauntingly beautiful - there is no beatboxing in it. The singing and harmonies are simply gorgeous. Tim, Austin & friends do fund raising for at-risk veterans (parts of these are available on y/t and on Austin's wife's channel "Beauty and the Bass" - an in the fish).

Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits wrote this in answer to Britain's Falklands War. It tell the story of a soldier fatally wounded on the battle field. His brothers in arms won't leave him as long as he is breathing, putting themselves in danger for one who won't survive. Released in 1985, I've been listening to it for almost 40 years and it has never failed to bring tears to my eyes. The message you stated about having more in common than different is echoed in Home Free's video for Everybody Walkin' This Land. Tim's words after the song are very much the same and so very beautiful.

This was one of the best reactions I've seen on HF'S Brothers In Arms. Thanks for reading the message. BTW, the Finnish a capella group Club For Five arranged this guitar-heavy song for a capella, and graciously allowed HF to use it. Tim only added the haunting echoes.

The chords in this one always remind me of a pipe organ. Adam Rupp's fifth part in the harmony makes a huge difference. It's always a treat when we get to hear him sing with the other guys.

Home Free always pays appropriate respect in their covers--especially to the content! Their talent is amazing--and I LOVE their 5-part harmony❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥

It’s so hauntingly beautiful. Loving Tim’s lows and the echoes. Love the black and white look of the video. I often say they look like ghosts too. It was released for Veteran’s day in 2021. So beautiful. Dire Straits song is about the Falklands War in the 80’s and is guitar driven where this is voice driven. I noticed your hat. My brother was also in the 82nd. He was a sniper. Thank you for your service. Home Free is amazing and yes, they pick the singer depending on the song. If you like patriotic try Land of the Free (Tim wrote it), My Country Tis of Thee, God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood. Good reactions!😍

I've listened to this beautiful song dozens and dozens of times but your astute reaction brought out things that never crossed my mind - It was beautiful and gave me new insights to this song like never before.
I'm a bonafide Home Free geek (Frie) (Home Free For Life /HFFL) and have been for the last 5-6 years give or take - be prepared you're on the ride of your life. I've been to their concerts and they are the real deal - what you see is what you get - at their meet and greet - they're just like regular guys that are genuine - they don't put on airs but are just 5 good 'ol boys that love to sing and love to have fun... You'll see in their videos, they're not afraid to laugh at themselves. At the same time they can call us to be serious without "preaching" - they are just amazing....
I look forward to following you guys down this wonderful path... I'm sure you'll be getting tons of requests so I'll just sit back and wait - the best is yet to come...

Great reaction, thank you. Home Free has quite a few songs that are 5 part harmony, no beatboxing. Helplessly Hoping, Auld Lang Syne and How Great Thou Art to name a few. Home Free always shows the perfect amount of respect. Love these boys! ❤️🇺🇸

When it comes to 5 part harmony a cappella, no one does it better. I agree with Vicki, this is their platinum masterpiece, which only supersedes their gold standard cover of Crosby, Stills, & Nash's Helplessly Hoping.

Great Reaction! This is really a beautiful song made even more so by Home Free. Loved your analysis of what the song meant to you! Their cover of "Everybody walking this Land" also echos the message of having more in common with our fellow man and women than differences. A wonderful concept! Anyway, loved your reaction and will see you soon!

As I explained in your other comment. Copyright law requires that I not reproduce the copywritten content exactly as it was produced. I have to make changes to it and add something to it (in this case our observations and opinions) in order to not get in trouble with UA-cam and the copyright owners.
