Spot on Dale ! I'll be watching those B sales to get another pair if the right one's pop up. I know there are some mixed comments going around by some but these things are exactly as you describe.
Meant to be outdoors and scream "let's get dirty". Such a pleasant suprise.

hi Dale, man those are the nicest man handlers i’ve ever seen. i thought my red wing Moc.s from the heritage collection’s we’re tough but my
goodness that’s like putting a nick’s urban logger up against
    a red wing iron ranger.
man they really look nice on you
and love the color of the ones

I got the Grant Stone Field Boot and wore it in the dome to replace my Nick's Renegade's I sized wrongly in.
The top eyelets are a bit annoying and I plan to put them through the ringer. On the Badalassi Carlo leather I do wish that they had used the same padded smooth collar as opposed to the suede. This is my first 7" boot but so far so good.
I owm both the Walnut Bison and the Saddle Tan Veg for context. Walnut is the one I entered in the Patina Thunderdome.
They fit very much akin to a slipper I thought.
I will see if it replaces 8" as my favorite size.

@@DalesLeatherworks So far so good! I have a pair of Nick's 10" Dark Brown Essex boots coming along nicely too! Friction scuffs are darker, slow abrasions are lighter in color. The Bison scuffs lighter in a tan so far.
I think 8" is still my favorite boot height for the support.
What pre-tell did you enter this year Dale? Or did you end up skipping? To be fair you have a lot on your plate.
I can also recommend use the Medaille D'or line of Saphir Nappa Balm. It absolutely won't change the color. A lot of guys use Bick4 but not my thing, it is shinier and while slim still carries a bit of silicone.
Seidel's Bison is Oil Tanned with pull-up so my intention is Saphir's Medaille D'or 1925 Oiled Leather Cream in Neutral. I always found the Beaute De Cuir Greasy Cream darkens. Where as the Medaille D'or line doesn't as long as it is a heavy oil based hide. Yet everyone only talks about the Greasy Cream.
So curious to hear your Dome plans or lack of plans. But if you entered good luck to you too!

@@DalesLeatherworks Thanks again Dale. One last question I picked up the Field Boot in a half size down from my Brannock and there is still a ton of volume there. I might need to switch to a medium weight from a light weight wool sock.
Would full sizing down with an E width help with that in the future? Just curious now exactly it might affect the fit in your experience. I can't imagine more volume but could actually do with just a little bit less.

Just saw in rose anvils video that the bumper is not actually a 2 piece construction. It is more like the cap toe on the thursday captain and not the cap toe on iron ranger. It is more for the looks. I personally like the look so it is not a problem for me.

    hi Dale,
i really love the field boots, i’m very tempted to buy a pair.
Also Dale i believe that extra stitching in the back heel area
is solely to help protect ur boots from when people kick
of their boots with their boots.
so basically it prevents you from ruining your boots rather
    then a heel support.
    thanks again, Kevin

I'm curious, what width is your foot? I have a kinda long arch compared to my foot length and I'm on the narrow end of D borderline C in width, but my toes are definitely D width. I'm a 12D, and I'm wondering if I should go with an 11.5D, 11E, or an 11D in the Floyd last. I have Diesels in 12D and 11.5D, and cap toes in 11.5E. The 12D and 11.5E work with thick socks, and work well with insoles, and the 11.5D works with boot socks but is still slightly big in the quarters with regular-thin socks. I think on the Leo last 11D would be too cramped in the toes, but the Floyd last is a little bigger in the toe box so maybe it'll work best?

I have had these boots for a few months now. I will mainly use them as my winter boots. I live in Norway so from September to May will be the colder season. The boots are great. The only problem is wet conditions. I used them this afternoon when I prepared a scene trail for my dog. The grass was very wet and after 10 minutes the water penetrated through the welt.

Just received mine today, bison walnut. Only thing I don't like is two top D loops for laces, I would prefer eyelets or hooks. Usually I don't lace top eyelet/hook, but if I don't do it on these boots D rings rattle

@@DalesLeatherworks I think they would work excellent with the laces that they come with. I put a pair of Dark Umber Laces from Guarded Goods in them. But I ordered 3 pairs in them. I tried the 11E in Saddle Tan because of your recommendation and actually have a second in Walnut Bison (one is a seconds). Turning them into my beaters and one is in the Dome.

I have this boot along with the two other GS boots in this leather. The leather on this field boots seems to have a slightly different tannage as it is much more pliable than the previous iterations of saddle tan. I kind of liked that ultra firm and heavy veg tannage of my other GS boots and was looking forward to it on this boot. I think GS might have been too concerned about break in issues and opted for a milder tannage with this boot. Other than that nice boots.
