19:15 That's how time goes by.
    Time is money.
    More time is more money.
The piece of tin is probably worth less than the diesel used to get there...😂😂😂

Not sure why some people are saying he’s wasting time. I think it’s good how they are sorting materials and they probably don’t have a right time schedule to have it done therefore they can take time. He did the job very well

Knock it down first & then harvest all the metal or make several smaller piles of metal & put it together later

All this sorting reminds me of a Taco Bell they razed close to me. I guess it’s better to sort in the beginning then haul all away and sort later.

It seems you have a couple arm chai operators here commenting, I have been an operator for over 40 years and worked on house demos to 1 million square feet demos for years with just the buckets. The 1st thing was always safety when we got grapples we always separated materials it made the job of keeping the site neat so much easier!!!

Great operator considering the machine he's using.
Why do US demolition companies [on youtube at least] not use Selector grabs?

What I don't see, is a water cannon to keep the dust down, and it's a good idea to have one of those handy.

37:40 Instead you have a man picking up and throwing pieces of sheetrock a few feet.

This is the most ADHD demolition I've ever seen. Seriously, i've walked back and forth less on a 3 hour phone call than this excavator did here...

John do you ever take the time to get to know these wrecking crews?

    • @JohnZWetmore
      @JohnZWetmore  Рік тому

Sometimes I get to know them. Usually they are pretty friendly. I'm happy to chat with anyone, but that isn't always easy when they are far away and on the other side of the construction fence. The telephoto lens can make them look a lot closer than they are.

the guy can grab the tin for $15 bucks an hour, you rip down the building for 250 an hour

I'm glad someone else agreed it costs so much to move about 20 kg of tin. I was a machine operator
and if I was that slow I would only last a couple of days

You guys bitching about how long it took.
Decent separation of materials, which needs to be done anyway. Bringing in a second, smaller machine on the site for the run around stuff and now there’s another operator to pay and tremendous increase in chance of a collision. He got the building down in less than an hour. He didn’t beat up the machine or himself doing it.

When it first opened it was a steak house. That was waaaay back, when Fairfax was a small town and the greedy developers had not yet ruined it for ever..
