I have been recently collecting uranium glass, and I could tell from the sheen on the sherbet cup that it was uranium glass - so glad you got it. It’s an amazing piece!
The reason for uranium glass glowing, is because UV light reacts with the electrons in the glass and that causes visible light to be emitted. The glass itself is slightly radioactive and sometimes people think that is the cause, but it's not.
Looks like you had a nice day of thrifting. A few weeks ago I stopped at Weil Antiques in Allentown, PA (next to the former Brass Rail Restaurant). They had an interesting selection of antiques.
"Glowing" under black light would actually be said to be "fluorescing." Balloons are fun, but not widely applicable. The Jane Austin looks like a cheap Barnes and Noble public domain reprint. It might make an interesting subject for a bookbinding project. Just saying.
CorningWare, Pyrex, and Corelle were/are all made by the same company - Corning Glass Works. Quite a few of the patterns from the 60s and 70s were used on both Pyrex and Corelle, Pyrex being kitchenware and Corelle being the companion tableware
I prefer stoneware dishes...had those silly brands growing up...place absolutely NO IMPORTANCE in them. Everything was green/golds/orange too...No Thanx!

Yay on the new kitty. I'm finishing up my master's degree in Gettysburg at the seminary. Great Gettysburg find.
At 9:28 I was wondering whether you would check the inside before buying. At 21:06 I had the answer. 😄

1:15-1:35, cat-themed products - You realize this puts you at risk for becoming a Crazy Cat Lady, right?😂
I don't see that as a risk- I accept that title with pride! I have two cats now, it's an inevitable transition

Thrift stores are also great for photo printing paper!

Talbots is a high end brand. It’s good stuff.
