This was quite informative. And fwiw, I'm glad you're "not a keyboard player" because you spent your time showing the elements of the synth, rather than showing off your playing (which is quite tiresome when someone is trying to understand the technicalities). Thanks for taking the time to share this.

I'm saving up for Arturia MicroBrute. While I'm gathering the money slowly week after week, I'm searching up for all possible videos about this little beast.

A triangle wave contains only odd harmonics, as does a square wave. It is the amplitude of these harmonics that give the two waveforms their distinctive sound.
A sine wave contains one - "1st harmonic" or "fundamental".

    Very nice, but
    1) The LFO Sync is for the sync to the sequencer. Unfortunately, with sync on, you will not reach audio frequency any more. A sync via USB or MIDI would be new to me.
    2) Triangle does not have only one harmonic, else it would be a sine.
    3) finaly, for such who want to know, the brute factor is a feedback loop from Audio.out to VCF in. So similar to the resomance but it overdrives the filter. The technique was often applied on the KORG MS20
    Cheers

If I connect this to a DAW such as FL studio, would I be able to actually modulate all the different knobs on the minibrute through the software? Like can all the parameters be sent via MIDI?

I like your video. But as I was listening, you said that the triangle wave does not add any harmonics past the fundamental. I thought this is close to the truth but not quite. The triangle wave is the one that is closest to the sine wave. So having it not add harmonics would make sense except that the sine wave is the only Waveform that only adds its fundamental frequency. The triangle adds odd harmonics at a ratio of 1/(number of that harmonic). So a triangle’s third harmonic is added at an amplitude of 1/3 x fundamental amplitude. 1/5 for the 5th harmonic, 1/7 for the 7th, 1/9 for the 9th, and so on.
To test it out, use something like VCV Rack so you can get a sine wave. Compare that sound to that of a triangle wave on its own. You will really notice the differences at the higher frequencies as the sine wave becomes more piercing compared to a triangle wave.
I have always thought that a triangle wave sounded a little weak on its own, not enough character. However, I like your use of it to add more body to a sound.

your demo is excellent, but at the end of the day for me the arturia microbrute is by far the worst sounding box ever made...if you sample a voice, you can create better sounds of it and it cost nothing.

How do you get it to make sound? It's pugged in, the lights are on, all the knobs are at 12 o'clock but no sound WHY? NO SOUND WHY?
