That view at water-level - wow! I can SMELL the briny air of the Bay! The water-action is a lot better for families than out at Virginia Beach - the Bay on a good day has more gentle waves. Good place for kids to get used to handling themselves in the water and learning to swim.
I’ve found some big ones there with a small shovel and a homage sifter using that larger square mesh . Matoka cabins nearby is loaded with fossils in the cliffs and waters edge
I have lived in Maryland since 1982 and have never been to that beach area, so thanks for sharing your visit with us! I have sailed and swam in the Chesapeake, enjoyed crabs from there but still there are so many places to visit. Hope your visit has been fun. btw I am originally from PA and also have enjoyed your visits to the state parks there.
It’s all skill. There are tons of teeth there. I found 66 on my last trip there in about 3 hours. Most were small. 2 were big. Once you train your eye to find them you’ll start finding a ton. The young kid was right you need to be looking for black fossilized colors. That white shell you found looked tooth shaped but was a shell. That’s not the color you’re looking for typically
"Bluegabe" channel has a video "how to find giant shark teeth now where near the water". Pretty cool to see the teeth they are digging out of the farmers field. Looked like a good time. 😎👍🏻
I have really enjoyed your videos on Southern Maryland. Brought back a lot of good memories. I'm still not exactly sure how Battle Creek got its name. It is on the Star-Spangled Trail. So, War of 1812. The Brits spent a whole spring and summer working over the Bay area. I assume there was action there. I've found literally thousands of teeth and related fossils in MD, but the biggest I ever found was in South Carolina(Myrtle Beach) right after a hurricane. 4- 1/2". Thanks.
Hi Cliff, a very pretty spot to just kick back and relax, a shame you didn't find any shark teeth there but it was stiff competition. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
I’m taking a friend here for his very first shark tooth hunt later this year. I’ve been hunting at flag ponds for years and it’s always great. On a good day I’ll find 100-120 teeth. Most of them are small but still.
I'm in Florida but I think you need some polarized glasses and need to be looking in the wash and drop off where the water is churning the sand. My secret weapon is a lacrosse stick with 1/4" mesh rabbit cage wire zip tied to where the net was. Quickly scoop them as they get turned over in the wash and LESS bending over! lol
I was here in March and passed an older lady on the beach who showed us a massive Meg she pulled out of the sand in the water. She said she just saw the root of the tooth in the water. It was so amazing, it was the size of her palm
Did you not keep white one? It could have been a fresh tooth. Really enjoyed that some a pretty spot. Thanks for the share, please stay safe and take care
Every Calvert Cliffs beach has fossil sharks teeth. Check out Motoka cottoges beach. its a private beach area and there is a fee. great beach area. all of the Cliffs for the thirty miles of Calvert County is considered the Calvert Cliffs. so there are so many fossil sights to check out along the cliffs.
“Just gonna enjoy where I am right now.” Wise words😎

Thought for sure you would go in. for a dip...looked so inviting. Love my Maryland.
This was such a beautiful and wild beach, so much to see. Thanks for the quick beach trip during lunch time! 😊
Hey Cliff, I really enjoyed your southern Maryland most recent videos. Someone beat me to the channel sticker out at Fort Foote. Ugh.
Lovely beach... glad you could take a break and enjoy it.
Looked like alot of fun! Especially wading in the Bay. The 2 little shark teeth that man gave you were cool. Wonderful beach trip Cliff, thank you!!!🥰

Quite a few folks were there looking for them.
There is nothing like a great day at the beach.

Great vids in the Maryland series, love them all. Just dropping a comment for the algorithm.

Awesome I love the woods and water.
Elk Neck park is another good one in Maryland been once but I’d go again great video
I've been there several times.
Very cool place thanks for getting back to me I’ve been watching your channel for awhile now. Thanks again for the great videos
It's been 20 years since I've been down there but I found some I love looking for sharks teeth
Was there in 1971 in the cliff in found a large complete claim shell 5" wide ,my Father picked it up AND DROPPED IT!🥴🥴🥴
Calvert Cliffs parking lot is 5 miles from the beach.. so count on hiking about an hour to get to the beach.
Purse - is that the spot near Nanjemoy? That’s one of my favorite tooth digging spots.
Wow I found dozens of large ones in ditch in South Carolina!

That white tooth was a non-fossilized shark tooth. Calvert Cliffs is definitely worth a full day visit or more.
