To me, the most interesting thing about this video(and the ones with John Salley and Joe Dumars from the 1987-1988 season) is that the Detroit Pistons were in the early stages of becoming a dynasty, as they would make the Eastern Conference Finals for 5 straight seasons starting in 1987 and win back to back titles in 1989 and 1990, and not many people saw it coming. Rodman developing into an elite rebounder and defender in this 3rd year played a huge role in the Pistons becoming the best team in the NBA, its funny how he seemed to be satisfied with being a 20-25 minute player who came off the bench for the rest of his career as a rookie in this video. One of the hosts mentions that the Hawks could have beaten the Lakers for the title in 1987. I think you can say Dominique and the Hawks were big underachievers during that time period, a lot of people probably thought the Hawks would be the ones to win titles in the late 80's, not the Pistons.
These guys don’t let Dennis talk..they ask him questions but don’t let him finish..obviously he’s quiet & shy there so why they don’t let him talk is annoying...I hate that
Great! Young Dennis. Talks about averaging 18 and 10 if he's starting. They think he's bad on defense. Dennis thinks he's bad on defense too. What a difference a few years make.
they told him he's not a good defensive player.
a few years later...Defensive Player of the Year
Rodman was so shy
Young. Dennis. Rodman.
Yes but cute!😲but🤗😎
This vid deserves more comments.
It’s so weird to see him talk so differently but use the same exact hand gestures
Yeah I agree. He carries himself differently but the hand gestures, covering his mouth etc is still same. He’s just waaayyyy more boisterous now LOL!!
Fascinating conversation w/ The Worm. Great upload. Please share more old-school NBA footage.

Who would have thought (back then) that one day Madonna would offer Dennis $20 million if he got her pregnant ?
Dennis Marry Me!!!
you can definitely see why isiah Thomas said he was "sweet and innocent and a gentle tender soul"🥰
“...going to a small school, not getting a lot of recognition...” Wasn’t Dennis an All-American during all 3 years he was in college?
He was very young here.
