    Luc knew his role at the Bulls and played it perfectly. In a team sport like basketball a guy like him is crucial. Result: multiple Rings, multiple Championships and a member of arguably the greatest Dynasty in sport. He's a humble Aussie who's done very well.

      Seemed to add context - for example, Scottie said Mike “was a horrible teammate”. I wonder if this was after the murder of Mike’s father?
      Coach Phil said, Mike was away from the main group, and was security conscious....Interesting.
      Now, I’m not suggesting that Scottie’s rants are legit. However, I get a sense of someone is hurting real bad.
      Such a shame.

    Yeah, exactly like what Phil said, "Its great to see this network do its own doco about Luc Longley"
    To add to that though, it was very hard for a great player to get noticed in the 90's when there were just way too many superstars in that era, as there were other players on the bulls team that didnt get much spotlight in the doco, i believe it shouldnt of been a 6 part doco, it should of been at least as long as it needed to be, just to give a shout out to all those other players as well that were on the bulls team.
    I am just proud that an Aussie like Luc Longley got to represent Australia on a legendary NBA team for the ages!!!!
    If you ever read this message Luc, dont worry mate you are always remembered in my family and what you did for the bulls.
    Its just so funny that im perhaps the only biggest NBA fan of the Chicago Bulls, but when ever they get brought up in a convo, my family members that dont even follow B-Ball or the NBA still always like to bring up the fact that an Aussie named Luc Longley played with Michael Jordan and the Bulls!
    Cheers,

    as Scottie used to say "Luc wasn't the kind of guy to knock you down, he would pick you up." Just to clarify Phil, Hoosiers was an hour and a half movie The Last Dance was like 10 movies.... 10 minutes to mention the starting center for the last 3 championships and the first Australian in the NBA wouldn't have screwed up the story line.... it would have made it more interesting to .. everybody!

  • @Shir_Hadash
    @Shir_Hadash 3 місяці тому

    During the championships, the Bulls used a lot of bodies at center - Stacy King, Will Perdue, Bill Wennington - but only two really stood out as complete two-way players: Bill Cartwright and Luc Longley. Both were good defenders, good shooters, good in the post, strong, physical, smart team players and fine passers.
    Cartwright was the better overall player, but he just got too old. By 1993, he really couldn't do as much as before. Luc had the size and skills to be more dominant than he was. He seemed to prefer being a role player.
    I think that's the reason M.J. was so critical of Luc both then and now. Luc had the capacity to be more dominant than he was. He wasn't going to ever me Olajuwan, Shaq, Robinson or Ewing, but he really did have the capacity to be a good as Vlade Divac, Brad Dougherty, Dikembe Mutombo or even Alonso Mourning. The fact that he never achieved that level is really unfortunate.

    Phil Jackson is the real reason why the Bulls fell apart if you do your research. He manipulated a lot of people including MJ and the whole last dance idea which was his way of dividing the team against management. What he did to assistant coach Johnny Bach was downright cruel. Interesting, MJ flew Bach to his hall of fame ceremony while Jackson watched from home. He was also a major contributor to The Jordan Rules book by Sam Smith which says it all...
